    posted a message on Help with seeing if this is hacking
    Quote from Zhorom

    I don't think he's hacking. If he's facing a different direction while attacking you, it's probably because of lag.

    Zhorom has it right. It is probably a combination of him and yourself lagging, but probably more him than you. You can see him swinging his sword where you previously stood and then see him adjusting his swings when he realizes you moved. It doesn't help that he has a block on his head so it is hard to see which way he is facing, but it looks to me he is facing towards you.

    posted a message on Randomly generated void-holes.
    >>>>It doesn't really make the game harder plus it would be a step back in the way the bedrock layer used to be. If you didn't know the bedrock layer used to have small holes back in the day (early beta). I can say with past experience that the holes pose no risk or interest being able to see the void, plus the holes were so rare you could barely find any and it would just be easier to throw your junk into lava. Mojang then came out with a patch that would randomize the bottom layer so the holes wouldn't form anymore. It would just be an unnecessary change that would revert the change already made to the bedrock layer. Are you suggesting that we need to flatten the bedrock layer again to allow for the holes to form or just create a hole in the already randomized bedrock "floor"? Unnecessary change in my opinion.
    >>>>The wiki places the point at Beta 1.6 or Beta 1.8 when the change to bedrock layer occured.

    Yes, but you do lose all your saves, resource packs, and what not so back up the information you think is important before doing so.

    posted a message on "Owning" a horse?

    The offspring will not automatically belong to the player who owns its parents. Rather, it will be born as an untamed horse and will need to be tamed if the player wants the benefits of ownership. It will not be tamable until it has grown into an adult, a process which takes approximately 20 minutes. If the player does not want to wait, the foal can be fed to make it mature faster

    Source: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Horse#Breeding

    >>>>I am guessing the wiki is using the incorrect word. They should be replacing owner and ownership with "breaking" and "broken." When you tame a horse in real life, you need to ride it bare back and "break" it. Doing so would tame the horse and prepare it for being ridden. Maybe they have used the words ownership to better describe the time after a horse is broken since many may not understand what it means to "break" a horse.

    My edit:

    The offspring will not automatically be broken to the player who has broken its parents. Rather, it will be born as an untamed horse and will need to be tamed if the player wants the benefits of a ride-able horse. It will not be tamable until it has grown into an adult, a process which takes approximately 20 minutes. If the player does not want to wait, the foal can be fed to make it mature faster.

    posted a message on 1.7 Witches Spawn Randomly Away From Hut Good Or Bad? Poll Added
    Every monster is easy to kill on the surface, but get down into cramped cave conditions and those things are like tanks with other mobs. It is the same with zombies. Everyone complained about their spawn rates on the surface, but underground they spawned enough to start creating coordinated attacks with a few skeletons and creepers. I hope they do keep this as a feature since this does add another spice to the difficulty chart when coordinating with other mobs like a skeleton or a mob of zombies.

    posted a message on 1.7.1 command block scoreboard question

    For the score as a minimum:
    /give @p[score_id_min=2] 1

    This will give the nearest player to the command block 1 piece of stone if their score in the scoreboard "id" is equal or greater than 2.

    For the score as a max:
    /give @p[score_id=2] 1

    This will give the nearest player to the command block 1 piece of stone if their score in the scoreboard "id" is less than or equal to 2.

    Just replace "id" with the name of the scoreboard objective.

    Edit:
    Misunderstood your question.
    Edit:Edit:
    I don't believe this is possible.

    An idea that pops into mind is to have a bunch of command blocks with comparators coming out of them. Those command blocks will each check whether a player has the objective set to number "X". When "X" is chosen the comparator activates and powers another command block that gives that player 1 item of x.
    (Clock)---> /testfor @p[score_name=1] ---(Comparator)---> /give @p 1
    (Clock)---> /testfor @p[score_name=2] ---(Comparator)---> /give @p 2
    (Clock)---> /testfor @p[score_name=3] ---(Comparator)---> /give @p 3

    There might be some better way than this, but this is just an idea.

    posted a message on How Did You Come Up With Your Username?
    I used to play Runescape back then and i had about 4 different accounts. My accounts were Howard1.0 all the way to Howard4.0. While i was thinking of other usernames i thought of the idea of making an account called "K1ngHoward" for it will be the "King" of all the "Howard" accounts. I then replaced the "i" with a "1" so that i would have a higher chance of that username's availability and it has has proven true since.

    posted a message on Owners & Players of SMP MCMMO servers need advice about Auto Fishing
    Quote from MrsBrewBud

    How about a sitting in a boat at the bottom of a water pit with a sign so he is always moving yet has to do nothing and typing in chat while catching fish? He fails to mention this is every scenario that he has posted. About 3 or 4 different places.

    >>>>Views of whether something is cheating or not can get into heated debates of what is cheating except on a personal view. How the OP's post made it sound like he was a mod on a server than an actual player. If he was a mod he can allow this on his server and not count it as cheating in his eyes, but playing on another (yours for example) he is subject to the rules and laws that you have set-up and the mods on there have last say when something is legal or illegal (which you say you have clearly stated to him [multiple times it seems]). On a personal view, I believe that it is not illegal as long as they don't do it for too long, i.e. between chatting, bathroom, etc.
    >>>>In Conclusion it is not cheating depending upon your personal point of views in single-player since you are the "law of your land," but on a multi-player server unless you are the owner, must obey the rules set up by the mods. And that rule being, auto-fishing is illegal.

    posted a message on zombie tracking is getting a little odd.
    >>>>When your zombie "disappeared" he probably walked through the portal allowing for himself to be "saved" on the other side of the portal waiting for you to enter. Once you entered the portal, the zombie was loaded into the nether near your portal, but you ran off not noticing it. He probably followed you for 40 blocks with his path finding that can see a player from 65 blocks away. He may have lost you as you went into the nether fortress, but every once in a while you would walk into range allowing him to get closer and closer to your position until the right moment when you were close enough and he could walk straight towards you and your chest.
    >>>>Got to love the extended zombie range. Zombies sort of appear out nowhere constantly when i go spelunking in large caverns. One time i had about 5 zombies appear out of the dark unexplored section of the cave and it just looked so awesome. :D

    Maybe your command block was placed in the spawn chunks? Anything in the spawn chunks is always loaded.

    posted a message on Annoying Habits of Youtubers.
    Only peeves i have with youtubers is when they forget to fill their hunger. It is also very prominent in the "Yogscast" where Lewis even asked once "Why he was losing health" or "why he couldn't run." I mean they can forget every once in a while, but it happens all the time that it gets just very annoying especially since hunger has been in the game for what, 2+ years?

    I am okay with them forgetting a recipe every once in a while when they don't use it often like me and hoppers or droppers since i rarely use them. I don't like it when they forget a recipe or action that is essential like a crafting table, pickaxe, furnace, or eating.

    "Why the hell not?"
    Makes sense since why make a beautiful looking house when you could just live in a cobblestone box?
    Why make a very expensive and large automatic sorting system when you could manually do it?

    posted a message on How much does protection protect
    The wiki actually has the same question you ask answered:

    For example, a full suit of diamond armor reduces damage from melee attacks by 80% -- if each piece of armor also had a Protection IV enchantment (EPF 5 each), the enchantments would further reduce damage by 40% to 80% each time, for a total damage reduction of 88% to 96%
