1. As per usual in this thread, buildings usually have to be symmetrical and I like front doors to be two wide. I've never made a front door that is only one block wide.
2. With the door thing again, doorways, whether on an interior or exterior wall, or always three blocks high. I know you can pass through two blocks, but I think it looks better being three blocks high. This, of course, causes a problem when using doors because doors are only a two block height so I will use a glass block above the door to kind of look like a transom window.
3. I ALWAYS close the door behind me - even when playing in peaceful mode.
4. Some of my friends don't like playing Survival mode with me because I am really anal about how the house looks - even if it is just our starter home; my houses always have two stories and actual roofs - no slab roofs for this guy.
5. I never put torches on the floor.
6. I hate jungle wood and have never built anything in a jungle biome.
7. I'm scared to death of the water even though there is nothing in it that can hurt you. I would rather build a bridge across 40 blocks of water than swim across it.
There are so many more running through my mind right now, but I'll stop here lest I bore you all.
