Because my comment was a valid observation about how the snapshot might affect survival play. While your comment, being nothing but a personal attack, is genuinely a complaint.

Meh. While the new terrain generation is certainly cool, it doesn't really contribute much to a serious game of survival. Nothing new to build or collect.
Quote from MineTimelapser
Minecraft is not only survival, not all updates or new features has to be intended to expand survival. It's very useful to creative mode players.
I hope you're not thinking your comment somehow counters or disproves my comment. Because it really doesn't even address my comment. Your comment stands on it's own, but it really has no business quoting my comment. -

Apr 24, 2014JuniperMelody posted a message on Wednesday With Sach: What Is Minecraft, and What About...Minecraft was for me the ultimate game of emergent game play. The programmer comes up with 10 game mechanics and the players take them in 1000 different directions. That way I can feel like I'm not being herded in the same direction as everyone else.Posted in: News
Sadly, Mojang has stated they don't like this style of gameplay. -

And someone please retool redstone so it is easier to work with. It could take up 1/4 the volume and be 2000x times easier to work with if you could build circuits vertically or control how junctions are formed between adjacent redstone lines.
I'm going to attempt to explain why redstone isn't smaller than it is. Simply, because this is a block game and the original premise was that a block could be any one thing; and how two adjacent blocks interact is purely a set of hard-coded rules.
Your suggestion to player-control how adjacent blocks interact would require imbuing blocks with a host of attributes or settings to define their behavior. Now the state of the world isn't just about the blocks, it's also very much about all the settings of the block that have been set just so.
I haven't shown that your idea is impossible or even impractical. But I think your idea would require a different vision of Minecraft.
In the end, making everything in the world smaller is just like making the player bigger; and there's really no point in that. -

So if I understand, when you finally added recipes for the smoky and rose quartz, you only added them to the new 0.9.0 version for 1.7.10 and not the older versions. Since the 1.7.2 compatible version is stuck at 0.8.4, we will never see a use added for the smoky and rose in 1.7.2. Is this correct or did I miss something?
Would you be willing to add smoky and rose to the comparator recipe? Otherwise they don't really function like quartz at all, they're just new blocks/items with the word 'quartz' in their name.

As long as hats (for example) are all that you can buy with your hybrid currency, they probably would have said it was acceptable.

Someone should be able to state an opinion without having to be attacked by so many people. If you don't agree with their opinion you should go post your own opinion in a new thread instead of replying just to attack their person.

I'm also using the Minecraft Comes Alive mod, which apparently makes villagers unscannable because they're different villagers. And yes I do sweep junk in chests constantly, but there's no way to know what I'm missing. (edit: I have now tried vanilla villagers, but I need "the mind", so no progress there to be had anyway)
Hints like "need to study things that move" happen exactly when you look at pigs and sheep and things that move, so it doesn't cause any "ah-ha!" moments because you're already doing it and it's already not working.
It really seems like this cyclic dependency problem of needing aspects to get aspects needs a little more development gameplay-wise.
But I do thank you for your help.

Thank you for responding,
I have 33 aspects, long including Victus. Would a hint be when it says "To understand this you need to study man"? I haven't been getting much use out of that since there's no way to look for a specific recipe. Many items I've scanned over and over again, after each time I manage to get a new aspect. But there's never any way to know what block/item I've forgotten to try. Am I supposed to make a list of everything in the game and try them all every time?

I have an adequate supply of research points, but I can't complete any research notes for lack of aspects. The best way to get aspects is to study things, but everything I can find that hasn't been studied requires aspects I don't have.
There must be some small number of blocks/items out there that will unlock a new aspect, but how am I supposed to know what they are?
It seems like there needs to be a book or a thing that can give you a running list of 5 items that would be profitable to study. Then at least you'd have goal and a direction to pursue. Or maybe I'm missing something?

This is not a mature way to communicate, this is how gradeschoolers communicate. We all know the expression, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". I believe this should be the new guiding principle in the Suggestions forum. Constructive criticism is fine of course, but just telling people their idea sucks is rude and should not be acceptable.
If a person makes a terrible suggestion, the lack of replies will be indication enough that no one likes it. The forum will also work better because these bad suggestions will fall off the front page faster without people dog-piling on to shout "No Support!".
In short, there should be a specific rule against shouting "No Support!", and a guideline that non-positive replies must consist of constructive criticism.
(Lest people think this idea is the result of sour grapes; no, it never happened to me but I don't post in suggestions exactly because of this problem)

Idea: Instead of just destroying all the blocks that were in the crater space, 'place' them in a loose ring area around the crater. This will create a gentle mound around the crater. Eventually the land will look like the surface of the moon, but at least it will still be land. (one cool effect is craters on the line between dirt biomes and desert biomes will get this interesting mixing of the two blocks)
Alternative Idea: Some meteors, instead of making a crater, bring a crater sized quantity of dirt or sand with them. (maybe call them asteroids) When you arrive on scene, you find a new hill or mountain where there was none before. If you dig to the center of this new hill, you find the actual meteorite blocks. (Interesting side effect; if a sand carrying asteroid lands in a dirt biome, you get a sizable source of sand to harvest)

The tabs! Didn't see them, that's just the tip I needed. Thank you.

Greetings Thumarians,Greetings Thaumaturges,
I'm trying to figure out how I'm supposed to know how to make a Thaumcraft table. The Thaumonomicon says the recipe is under the "Artiface research category", though it's not clear just what a 'research category' is. They could be the graphical nodes of the Thaumonomicon book, or they could be the sub headings of the textual passages. In any case, I don't see the word "Artiface" anywhere. Am I just not there yet? Have I not used the thaumometer enough?
(note that this post isn't asking for the table recipe)
Edit: Already answered by LordEric, thank you.

Using meteors-1.7.10-2.13.1 in 1.7.2, is anyone else unable to craft Frezarite armor and tools?Edit:
Now I see it, it's right there in bold. Thank you AlexDGr8r for answering without being condescending.

Three days ago I submitted a report on these two mod pages that clearly don't meet even the newly relaxed rules but nothing has happened yet. I even included notes in the reports about your revising the rules but I guess it didn't help.
Pixelmon 3.1.1 {July 1st 2014}
Flan's Mod 4.2 : MECHAS, Planes, Vehicles, 3D Guns, Multiplayer, TDM, Conquest
Am I not submitting the reports correctly?

Yesterday I discovered and reported this mod: Pixelmon 3.1.1 {July 1st 2014} for not meeting even the newly relaxed download link rules.
Today it was this one: Flan's Mod 4.2 : MECHAS, Planes, Vehicles, 3D Guns, Multiplayer, TDM, Conquest
