I really like this mod, but I was wondering something.
In singleplayer, you can hold shift as long as you want and the arrow stays there.
But in mutliplayer, it goes away after a certain amount of time, is there a way I can make the camera stay they for as long as I want, I went into the code and messed around a bit but I'm pretty bad at this.
Thanks
This is because the server stops updating entities that are beyond a certain distance from the player, so there's no way for you to keep track of your arrow forever in multiplayer.
This mod seems to be broken with Flame bows in the rain.
I know that's the problem. I've tried it in the rain, not in the rain, with a flame bow, not with a flame bow.
What happens when you use the flame bow in the rain? Does your game crash (if so, please post a crash report) or does something unexpected happen? Also, what mod is the flame bow from?
Getting those sweet cinematics like we see in the movies is EPIC. In addition, knowing where your arrows land from afar can really help with sniping off your enemies!
Thanks for the awesome mod!
I did a Mod Showcase on it too!
Thank you for the amazing review. You did a great job of covering all the applications of the mod, and it was all very accurate. Good luck making more videos!
I've just uploaded v2.0.0 of the mod, which brings 1.7.2 support! If you don't want to wait for the update to be approved by CurseForge, you can download it right now from https://github.com/Jsnman/ArrowCamMod/releases. As always, let me know if there are any problems.
Hey, just installed this mod, every time I crouch and fire, I crash and get this error message:

Thanks for posting your crash log. Although next time, please use spoiler tags. It looks like there's a problem with the improved first person mod. I'll see what I can do to fix it. In the meantime, you'll have to uninstall either this mod or improved first person.
Just downloaded Arrow Cam and Crashed it easily xD
Using More Enchantments Mod I added the Homing Enchant to my bow (lets the player control the arrow)
and its a pretty cool method of travelling but travelling too far gives this crash...

This is most likely due to the arrow drifting into unloaded chunks, and Minecraft tends to use the player as a means to load chunks, not the actual render view entity. I'll see what I can do to fix this, but it may be out of my hands.
My game crashed when I tried to launch it with Arrow Cam. I do have other mods installed, but when I removed them one by one to check which one it was, it was this one. It launches the game for a few seconds, then before it gets to the title screen it crashes. Here's my crash report.

Sorry for the delay, but better late than never.
It looks like you're using the 1.6.2 version of the mod on a 1.6.4 client. If you download the latest version of the mod, it should work then.
Question: Lets say... Your Projectile Shooting Item Shoots multiple Projectiles, What Would Be The Effect On The Cam, Would it follow just one Projectile Entity, or Would it Tail Them As A Group and Zoom The Camera Out As The Entities Widen their Group. In This Case I mean If you get a Mod that adds in multiple arrow shooting functions, as in shoots 3 arrows with the one ammo item, what would be the follow of the camera. example mod: Better Archery.
Answer: Thx In Advance!!!
The camera should follow the first arrow fired, at least that's the behavior with vanilla bows and arrows. I can't say what would happen with modded bows and arrows because the mod might not use the same set of rules for their arrows, in which case the camera may not be activated properly or at all.
Don't worry, i went to your curseforge after i made that edit.
Also, a suggestion: As a passive effect, when you pull back your bow, there will be a translucent curve showing where the arrow will land (either shifting or not shifting), for great aiming.
That's a fantastic idea. I'll have to look into it and run some tests. However, would that be considered cheating on multiplayer servers?

Edit: Found out that your link in this topic goes to an old version (1.1.0).
Looks like you're trying to use the 1.6.2 version on 1.6.4. Unfortunately it takes Curse about a day to approve my files, so the download link did point to the older version for some time. Try redownloading the mod through my CurseForge file list, which will show you the game version before you download: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/arrow-cam/files/.
Thank you everyone who downloaded the mod, pointed out bugs, suggested new features, and made videos showcasing the mod! I have just released version 1.1.0 which addresses a variety of bug fixes and requires you to be crouching in order for the Arrow Cam to be enabled. As always, tell me what you guys think and if you run into any problems.
0
Version 2.3.0 of the the Arrow Cam Mod has been released, with support for 1.11.
0
I have just backported the mod to 1.8.9 and 1.9.4
0
Just uploaded v2.1.0 which supports 1.10.2

This is because the server stops updating entities that are beyond a certain distance from the player, so there's no way for you to keep track of your arrow forever in multiplayer.

What happens when you use the flame bow in the rain? Does your game crash (if so, please post a crash report) or does something unexpected happen? Also, what mod is the flame bow from?

Thank you for the amazing review. You did a great job of covering all the applications of the mod, and it was all very accurate. Good luck making more videos!

Gracias por hacer un video del mod. Estoy feliz que a usted le gusta. Estoy aprendiendo español, perdóname si escribí incorrectamente por favor.

Thanks for posting your crash log. Although next time, please use spoiler tags. It looks like there's a problem with the improved first person mod. I'll see what I can do to fix it. In the meantime, you'll have to uninstall either this mod or improved first person.

Yes, I've got a build for 1.7.2 already, but I'm trying to make the camera smoother before I release it. This mod offers no way to see how much damage an arrow does, so if you want that feature, I suggest checking out the Damage Indicators Mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1536685-172164forge-hit-splat-damage-indicators-v308-rpg-ui-and-damage-amount-mod/
This is most likely due to the arrow drifting into unloaded chunks, and Minecraft tends to use the player as a means to load chunks, not the actual render view entity. I'll see what I can do to fix this, but it may be out of my hands.

That's a fantastic idea. I'll have to look into it and run some tests. However, would that be considered cheating on multiplayer servers?

Looks like you're trying to use the 1.6.2 version on 1.6.4. Unfortunately it takes Curse about a day to approve my files, so the download link did point to the older version for some time. Try redownloading the mod through my CurseForge file list, which will show you the game version before you download: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/arrow-cam/files/.
