posted a message on New Medieval/Survival House

    Hello everyone!

This is one of my latest creations, and it's a medieval/survival house. It has many basic materials that were used, including cobblestone, oak and spruce wood, bedding, and buttons. It took me a half an hour to an hour to make, and it's not very hard. I hope you all like it!

By the way, I've only showed the outside and part of the inside because I'm horrible at interior decorating creations once they're done. I may try to find a way to make this a downloadable world so that you can fill in the house yourself.

posted a message on Obsidian tipped swords? Arrowheads? Anyone?

Not a bad idea, but I'd say to take the damage down a couple notches, like maybe make it 2 1/2 or something like that. I like the idea, though, very cool!

posted a message on Does music help you build better?

Hello all, I just thought of an idea. I know that when I'm doing homework, I always do better when I'm listening to music. So, I was thinking, what if music did the same when you're building a creation? I tested it a little while, and I found out that I build a bit faster and I get more ideas when I'm listening to music than when I'm not listening to music. What do you think of this hypothesis? Do you agree or disagree? Please put your suggestions in the comments ;)

posted a message on Have you ever built like this?

So yeah, I once built a house like this (Not the exact house), but I feel like I want to have a little competition. Let's see who can make the best kind of house like this? I think it'll be cool to see what you all can do, and I think I might enter myself and see what I can do. Comment down below on what you thing should be the time allotted, and all of that stuff. Anyways, if you want to enter, I guess you can just comment down below! I'll be taking contestants in, oh, let's say in the next hour or so. I hope to see all of your awesome builds!

    Quote from Mr_N_Derman»

These are the farms at my current SP base (except for my cocoa farm which is a bit naff), all done in survival mode, normal setting.

    Mob Farm

Basically a 50 x 50 dark room with piston controlled water flows, once its gets full, activate the flows to push the mobs to a central drop column where they take a large amount of fall damage before another water flow takes them to a

central kill point. Was the first farm i built in my current base, mostly used for XP (not so importanant now since 1.8+) and a good range of drops, but having to go round and light up all the surrounding caves makes this quite a time

consuming build. I added a lighting circuit to mine so I could actually deactivate the farm if need be.

    Iron Farm

IMO, probably the most useful. Yeah, iron is pretty abundant whenn you go mining but the farm just makes a nice little supply whilst your doing things other than mining. Based on MCTUT's twin 10x10 pads, but extended to 18x18 pads to

make the most of the Iron Golem spawning area. Just dunno what to do with the 1600+ roses/poppies i got now ...

    Squid Farm

Simple to build and very efficient in the right conditions, a pity the inc sacs have so limited a use! If I had my time again, i'd build a smaller one; took just one minecraft week to fill a double chest up. It was fun to build tho; I added a detector circuit to shut off the water when the chest was full.

    Gold Farm

Gold is a pretty useful, but to get really good farm rates, needs to be bigger than the one I built, but I had limited space. Plus I read you needed a 2 block space between the portals then after i'd done 90% found it only needed to be 1. Managed to shuffle some of the portals along to get some extra ones in. Only one of two AFK farms I have, i get around 300-400 nuggets an hour with a Looting III sword plus the XP. I added a circuit whereby I can turn the portals on and off using dispensers filled with water and flint and steel.

    Blaze Farm

Quite a simple farm to build, gives great XP (although again, thats not as important with 1.8+), but really needs you to find a blaze spawner encased in netherrack to make the build easier (and I found a pair like this just recently) so you dont have to build it in open air. Mine is based on MumboJumbo's design, slightly expanded.

    Pumpkin & Melon Farm

Just a dual ABBA switch piston system, one to remove the block temporarily on which the fruit grows, the other to punch down and break the fruit so it can drop into the water streams below. Not very large as I dont use melon as a food

source; pumpkins are slightly more useful which is why i have twice as many in the farm.

    Sugar Cane Farm

Simple Piston breaker system, both this farm and the Pumpkin/Melon farm are on a Daylight Sensor circuit so they get activated once at dawn and once at dusk. Paper useful to make lots of books for the better villager trading in 1.8+.

    Cactus Farm

Possibly the simplest to build, no redstone devices, however if you want a lot of cactus, needs to be quite big. The problem is that when a cactus breaks off there's a chance it will fall back onto the body of the plant, destroying itself. Ahh well, dont have massives of use for it.

Up next - a Guardian Farm

Wow dude - that's insane! You're really good at this stuff!
