I know that the x and z coordinates of the Overworld have a relationship to the positioning of the associated portal in the Nether. How about the y coordinate? I know that the top of the Nether is only 127 so it cannot be a 1 to 8 relationship but is there any relationship? If I build a portal on the top of a mountain, does that mean in the Nether my portal would be higher? Same with depth. If I built it at level 1, wound I end up near Nether level 1?

I have a problem when using Optifine (all versions). When I am outside, all looks right: the daytime looks bright and night black. However, underground is a different story. Even without torches, caves look bright as day. I have adjusted anything and everything that would seem to affect lighting: Smooth Lighting, Smooth Lighting Level, Brightness, and Dynamic Lights but nothing seem to affect the lighting. Any ideas? I want caves to look dark like they should.

I have a Zombie Spawner the uses an air bubble column to take the Zombie's up. However, it gets jammed by chickens. Even 1 chicken can keep dozens of Zombies from moving forward. Has anyone for a solution?
