This is from a fresh start to 1.6.2, ran, closed, installed forge 829, ran, closed, dropped in mods, ran once again, still get the mod portal error, I haven't even moved my saves yet. I must have deleted and reinstalled 9 times today, this is as fresh of an install as I can get, I should note that the only thing I can think of is the launcher that I use, something called Keinett, it was the first thing I could get to work so I could play offline, I am actually pretty new to minecraft in general, but not to getting recalcitrant PC games to work, but I am a little rusty.
It'll automatically install your mods. I don't know how to use because i never did but there should be some vids out there on how to install mods with magic launcher
These are the ones that stand out for me, I may be wrong, but I infer that the modPortal.png is either the event horizon of the portal, or the result recipe of the igniter itself, for some reason that is the only texture that doesnt load, when I was at the lower version of forge, none of the textures for the new ores would load, since I updated to the newest recommended, those errors dissappeared, these below are all that are left, I downgraded from that version right to .804 from your recommendation, same errors, I am still running .804, craftguide shows the recipe for the igniter, but whenever I put it into the crafting table, there is no igniter, my materials just sit there, taunting me. Whispering nevermore...

Those erros are actually normal and there suppose to pop up. But the missing texture isn't, I don't why its doing it though. Are you sure your .minecraft/mods is empty and only has Miner's Heaven and craftguide?
Another possibility (although rarely) is that FML might be interfering with some of the old logs from 1.5.2 and below. If that's the cause then backup your .minecraft by renaming it to like "Minecraft 1.5.2 Backup" and letting the new launcher create a new .minecraft. Then you can transfer over your saves, mods, and versions from the "Minecraft 1.5.2 Backup"
I updated to .829, no luck, went down to .804, good news is I dont get all of the missing textures anymore, bad news is I still get
the below error, just for kicks I tried crafting the igniter again, no luck there, do I need to make a new profile for the mod to work? I have alot of time and effort in on the world I am working on.
CraftGuide works, I can even look up the recipie for the igniter in it.

I am having a problem with this mod, when I go to load the game I get this error:
Miner's Heaven is missing a pack.mcmeta file, this is after it says that it cannot find any of the textures, I use forge 9.10, and MC 1.6.2 and the newest build of Miner's heaven.
I went and got all the quartz but I cannot craft the igniter.

Hmm strange. Did you use the latest forge download or the recommended?
I like this mod, but meanwhile I have another mod which installed earlier called "Ore Dimensions", that mod seems to use same dimension id '5' as your mod do, so I have to chose which one to use.
It would be very good if you could add some config so I could set it to some id that will not conflict with other mods.
By the way Ore Dimension seems used more than one dimension so simply use 6 or some other id may not solve this.
Of cause I will also make a request to that mod too.

hey man, love the mod. I know its WIP, but one thing I have noticed is that, at least for me, the pickaxes and swords aren't really working. The fluorite pick is mining less than wood, while the sword does nothing, same for all of the metals. I don't know if that applies for everyone with the mod, but I just thought I'd let you know because I definitely want to see more of this mod.

You didn't write iit anywhere, but I was wondering if I could use your mod for my modpack I'm making at the moment. I like the mod because you can gather a whole bunch of ressources really fast, so that would help a lot!

This is definitely a miner's wet dream.... Though could you fix the Portal Igniter's flame so we can put it out with our hands? I made the mistake of trying it inside my house and part of it burnt off.

Also, Idea: Make an alternative version of Miner's Heaven to be Miner's Hell. Where the player have to fight monstrous enemies with a pickaxe to get the ore that they're carrying.
I already working on another where it spawns normal ore but i'll try to squeeze your idea in
turtles and quarry's don't work right on the map. in less there is a placed chunkloader and not the add on (for turtles) turles wont run and qurry's mine up stuff with out breaking blocks if they are left to chunk load the area them selves
nothing but cobblestone above 75 and the glowstone request had nothing to do with light lvl
True nothing spawns above layer 78 but still who would dig 60 blocks up. You spawn at layer ~23 and theres nothing above you except some ore and stone. For the glowstone, I can make the storage blocks emit some light but not as much as glowstone

Theres your problem. Miners Heaven was built on Forge 9.10.804 and it should work with the version above that one but not below
