Difficulty, creeper and tnt explosions on/off, etc. ?

it should already be pre-set with everything. creeper explosions off, but tnt needs to blow up some blocks. normal difficulty and command blocks on.

Jiiig, why another combat based Adventure Map? ._.
I wish there would be something like Eronev 1 again, in Peaceful Mode. Oh well. P:

This isn't combat based at all. There is only one place with some spawners. You could play this in peaceful mode too if you really wanted.

    Not really. sorry :(

    So,any updates planned?
Maybe an "expansion" update, adding a whole bunch of new content and a few very long, difficult dungeons with some DOPE loot in them, maybe even telling a bit of story or lore?

Not for this map. It's done and I'd rather look ahead and make new maps like The Flood which released just a few days ago.

P.S. What am I suppose to do with the boy's head XD

P.P.S I failed, I only got 3. Can I still play the sequel without any spoilers?

Yep, the stories are self contained. Though I do recommend at least watching a LP of someone who has rescued them all to see the different endings :) Good luck!

Okay, so, I replayed this and succeeded in getting a perfect score. Then I walked around the nice happy peaceful (and drying out) village of Eronov and saw the guy in the town center. I noticed he was saying that
"This little guy seems to have lost his parents."
I then remembered that when you rescue the fellow on the cliff (the one where you get the jump boost potion - which was an amazing effect, incidentally) his name is
    "Future Hero"
    .
Anyway, I'm gonna take a wild stab here and say that this guy is
the player's character from the original Eronov Mansion Adventure.
Correct? Or is it a secret pending more Eronov Chronicle maps?

Correct :) If you played Eronev 2 to completion, there are also a few other characters in the mix that you might recognize too, relating to the same people.

I don't play adventure maps too often, but I played through and loved Eronev Mansion, and I got through a lot (But ragequitted) Eronev 2. I think the story and lore told in the Eronev maps is good, and I like how The Flood played out. Unfortunately, due to me not being adept at killing mobs, ended up failing a lot and ending with around half of the villagers dead.

I'm looking forward to the next Eronev Chronicles map and/or Eronev 3. You did great on all three, Jigarbov :D

Thanks for the feedback. I am thinking about making an easy mode, but it probably wont be out for a little while.

It's a nice map, don't get me wrong, but...

why is EVERYBODY 36-ifying their custom maps?

I used it because it's impossible to make a flood like this any other way. I haven't even seen another map extensively using 36 yet. It's pretty much the only way to have cool cinematics in minecraft, I mean pistons are ok for some basic stuff, but 36 allows for some huge changes. Why don't you like the block?

Finished the map in multiplayer with 2 friends and we got perfect ending - I guess it would be much harder in single player ;p I'll try again soon. Fun map, although I didn't really have time to explore or look for references, I didn't want to drown ;]

Thanks for reminding me! I added a note about multiplayer being much easier so go to the harder difficulty if you're playing in multiplayer ;)

Very fun map overall. I didn't actually think it was that tough; on the second attempt I finished about a minute after the beach was completely flooded. I might try Hard mode soon, but not now.

Didn't think it was that hard? You're the reason I made a hard mode. ;) It's very tough.

    ---COLDFUSIONGAMING'S REVIEW---

Map Name: Eronev Chronicles - The Flood
    Minecraft Version: 1.4.6
    Map Version: 1.08M (Medium Difficulty)

    NEWER RATING SYSTEM:
Rating divided into 5 subcategories worth 6 points each:

Story - /6 - For maps without a story, this rating is replaced by player motivation.
6 is amazing. The story of the map is flawlessly intertwined with the build. The characters are distinct and original.
5 is excellent. The story well supports the map and the player is immersed into the story.
4 is above average. The story is original and creative.
3 is average. The story is basic, but still makes sense.
2 is below average. The story doesn't make sense and/or doesn't keep the player's attention.
1 is poor. The story is made no sense whatsoever. Maps with very little story will recieve this rating.

Effort - /6 - This includes creativity, the size of the build, aesthetic detail, etc.
6 is amazing. The atmosphere of the map is flawless and the build and/or detail is outstanding. The player forgets they are playing Minecraft.
5 is excellent. The atmosphere is great and the build/detail are consistent and interesting. The player feels immersed into the world.
4 is above average. There is a good atmosphere and the build is consistent.
3 is average. There is a slight atmosphere and some detail. The build is okay.
2 is below average. The atmosphere seems odd and the details do not support the build or story.
1 is poor. The atmosphere makes no sense and the build does not fit the story.

Progression - /6 - This includes the pacing of gear and materials as well as consistency.
6 is amazing. The loot and resources are consistent and very well planned out. There are resting points where the player can regear that are flawlessly built into the story. The player feels rewarded, but not overpowered. Death penalties are fair.
5 is excellent. Loot and resources are well planned out and a sense of acomplishment develops within the player.
4 is above average. Loot is well planned out and consistent.
3 is average. The player may recieve too little or too much loot. The map may not flow.
2 is below average. The map doesn't flow very well and underpowered/overpowered loot is given too fast or too soon.
1 is poor. Like 2, but more extreme.

Mechanics - /6 - This includes how well Minecraft features are used.
6 is amazing. Minecraft features are used in a brand new way that I've never seen before. Puzzles are innovative and very original.
5 is excellent. Minecraft features were used very well. Puzzles are original and well thought out.
4 is above average. Minecraft features are used well. Puzzles are fun and interesting.
3 is average. New Minecraft features are used. Puzzles are okay.
2 is below average. Newer Minecraft features are not used very well. Puzzles are tedious and/or boring.
1 is poor. Newer Minecraft features are not used at all. The puzzles are unoriginal and rage-inducing or far too easy.

Difficulty - /6 - This includes how easy or hard the map was in terms of mob fighting and puzzles.
6 is amazing. The difficulty is at the perfect level based on the progression. Mob fights are strategic and interesting rather than tedious. The puzzles are solvable with enough thought. The map plays with the player to make them feel stimulated, but not overwhelemed.
5 is excellent. The map may be a bit too hard or too easy, but it's around the right difficulty level. Mob fights are interesting and the puzzles are solvable.
4 is above average. The map may be a bit too hard or easy. Mob fights are fairly basic and puzzles may be slightly too hard or easy.
3 is average. The map is too hard or too easy. Mob fights are basic.
2 is below average. The map is far too hard or too easy. Mob fights are tedious and not interesting.
1 is poor. The difficulty is far off. Puzzles and mob fights are confusing and/or impossible.

Please keep in mind that ratings are only a matter of opinion. Never let low ratings make you think your map is bad. Your map can never be bad in my eyes, for you took the time to make it and had the courage to try your best.

Note: Feel free to resubmit your map(s) and I will re-review it. Your score can never go down, only up.

    MAP BREAKDOWN:
    Overall Score: 29/30

    Video:

    Story: 5/6
    Effort: 6/6
    Progression: 6/6
    Mechanics: 6/6
    Difficulty: 6/6

Additional Feedback: This is a gem of a map. Here's the breakdown of my rating:

Story - Although it is a short map, the villagers that you are required to save each have a unique story to tell that add much depth to the otherwise simple story. My only complaint here is that the player isn't explained. Who are they? Why are they so determined to save the villagers? Still, this is only a minor disappointment, so a 5/6 for story.
Effort - The atmosphere of this map is flawless. Even without the rain, it felt like it was raining (if that makes sense). I was extremely immersed into the build. Very well done. Easily a 6/6.
Progression - The progression is outstanding. I love how the player is required to wait for the water to rise to a certain level to save some villagers and I really liked the hidden loot chests. My only complaint here is that there were not enough loot chests. I would have added chests everywhere with items such as speed potions and hidden easter eggs. This would also give the player an interesting choice: should they risk looting all of the chests for extra goodies or move right past them? Still, that's just me being picky, 6/6 for progression.
Mechanics - I saw a shocking amount of brand new gadgets and gizmos spread around the map that I've never seen before. From the new block 36 technology to invisible walls using heads, Jigarbov has used just about every single mechanic known to this day. Amazing, 6/6.
Difficulty - This was the strongest part of the map. While it is next to impossible to win the first time around, it is completely possible to pull off once you understand the layout of the map. A strategy is key here - without one, you're doomed. However, it was still possible to win without making a map. Once you've completed the medium difficulty map, Jigarbov also offers a harder version. I would say the difficulty is perfect, 6/6.

And thus, Jigarbov gets my first rating over a 28/30! :D

THANK YOU FOR SUBMITTING A MAP! :)
    -ColdFusionGaming

Also, I managed to save everybody on my third attempt on medium mode. Screenshot proof: SPOILERS!

Also, as a note to Jig:
Is it intentional that the player can escape the invisible head walls at the end and break back into the mansion? I found a funny little easter egg in there, so I'm assuming it is. ^_^
    ;)

Thanks for the feedback! Pretty proud about that high score. I do have to point out a few things about the story though, there is a reason you're not told who you are and your motivations... but I can't tell you why. It'll be revealed in a much later map. In fact if I do more chronicle type maps, you might be doing things without motivation and the reasons could be revealed much later. They should be able to stand alone though without that information so it shouldn't effect too much. This event though does still have some pretty deep story elements which tie into the eronev lore which becomes apparent (more) after you save all the villagers as long as you listen to all the conversations afterwards :)

    Quote from cpm4001

Very fun map; I really liked the way you took the "base" Eronov Mansion Adventure map and remade it slightly.
Here's my score (apologies that some of the text is a bit blurry - not the best screen resolution in the world):

Didn't do too badly, I don't think. Got a bit upset at the end because I pressed the "Time Dilatorâ„¢" button after all the beacons went out and got stuck with the "You're so heartless" ending, even though I'd rescued everyone I could. Ah, well, guess I'm not getting elected mayor of Eronov anytime soon...
Anyway, great map! I'll be more than happy to play any new 'Eronov Chronicles' maps you make.

Thanks! You did pretty well :) the heartlessness is because you let people die when their beacons went out xD pressing the button only gets you to the end faster.

    Quote from jammer_222

This... This custom map is EXTREMELY hard! I still give it a 10/10 though. Very well done. I love the use of command blocks as well!

Thanks! I am thinking about working on a super easy version to give people some more time to explore the world and read all the signs.... but I do really think it's balanced pretty well right now.
