    How about it works like the magic wand, and when you use the leash on the dog, it follows you still, but at a 5-block radius. This is pretty much what you wanted it to be, but the main purpose of this in my opinion, is to be able to right click ANOTHER block, and have it leash the dog to there. They will not be able to follow you, and will attack the mobs at the same radius it can go in.

    Whaddya think?

    I definently like that better! i will definently change the idea to match that :Notch:
