This is awesome. I think we need more ores before this could really be useful. As I've seen people say on the forums, more ores would be nice, like something between iron and diamond (amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire seem to be most common) would be good. I personally think we need something between stone and iron (like copper) but whatever.

Well, the thing is, anything possible in Minecraft with magic would probably also be possible in some way with technology (flying, underwater exploration, etc.), and I don't think magic has to necessarily be separate. Why not combine them to get really really cool stuff? Like having a bow (sort of technology) with magical arrows? Or a boat that can fly with magic o.0. It's a good idea, if we can figure out how to implement it an awesome way.

Dyes need more uses than just colored wool. How cool would it be if you could use dyes as paint, and if you have a dye in your hand, right-clicking on a side of a block would change its color. This would mean you could have a house with color everywhere and still be stone! And you could make rubiks cubes!

I think it should be harder to make. Separate recipes for screen, exterior & interior, and then combine those in one recipe.
Idea: Maybe they could distract hostile mobs .
Scene: You run from creeper. Creeper pauses to watch TV. You kill creeper. Yay!

Maybe it could be crafted into, say 6-9 purple dye (whatever people think is best)? Also, this is an awesome idea!

When you say wield it, you mean hold it and light comes out. So why would you need different materials for durability? Is that how long it gives light or what?

This is a cool idea, especially because Notch mentioned possibly adding Shelves. Imagine a shelf filled with the heads of slain enemies!

I approve. This is a great idea, however, what if you put them in water ? How would that work? Also, what about iron and gold blocks? Would they somehow be electrified if in range?
