When raiding ocean ruins in the early game, I always stand on the edge of a block next to a magma bubble column. If enough of your body is in the column, you get oxygen.
And yes doors. Doors are even better because if you're standing in air you can mine things better (until aqua affinity anyhow.) Sunken ships will usually have a door on the bottom deck (under the trapdoors, and forward I think.)
Wait wat sunken ships have doors? how have I missed this lol. Yeah, the ocean ruins part is interesting, because if your not careful you will just be sucked down into the magma block right?
If all you want is to mine out the minerals, removing the water is overkill.
Assuming you're in early-game sufficiently that water breathing potions are not an option,
an Aqua Affinity/Respiration3 helm will help [Aqua Affinity removes the underwater mining speed penalty, Respiration increases underwater beathing time.]
as will Depth Strider3 boots [Depth Strider removes the underwater movement speed penalty (one third per level).]
If you're in even earlier game, all you actually need are a series of 'breath stations' (air pockets) where you can recharge your bubble (breath) meter.
Using souldsand (or magma blocks & crouching) to produce bubble columns (which are breathable water) is one option, but those blocks may not be readily available at this stage,
Doors (any of the wooden kinds recommended) still displace water when placed [thru 1.13.2] creating pockets of air. [Some other blocks also retain this behavior, but I don't have a comprehensive list handy.]
Two high cane also works, but requires sand or dirt (or variants) to place it on and will spawn mobs unless lit. [It also requires a water souce NEXT TO the block on which it is placed]
If you do need to remove the water, sponges (obtainable only from ocean monuments) are preferred if you have them.
Otherwise placing blocks and removing them so as not to let water source blocks reform is needed.
For doing this manually, I've not found anything better than slime blocks (I do, however, treat a slime farm as an early priority; YMMV)
Various MOSES machines (ie. "Redstone trickery and a ton of sand") are not recommended for the sort of area you show in the picture, both because they require dry headspace and because they are inefficient for small areas (particularly if irregularly shaped). [The amount of time needed to assemble the machine exceeds what simple manual place and break would require.]
Thank you! That was a very comprehensive post, I think my best option is the soul sand. Which I kinda knew something did that, but I couldn't remember what blocks. Or I might do the door trick you mention (replaced torches as they used to work)
So Honestly, this is probably a noob question, but what do you guys do to get rid of water. Like in late game, it's not an issue, simply because you can just use a conduit and breathe underwater. Or if you want to clear out a space, it may be possible to do with Redstone trickery and a ton of sand.
However, in those early game situations what do you guys use to get to the minerals underneath tons of water. This is especially relevant in the 1.13 update because:
1. It seems like caves are submerged more often
2. You drown very quickly, meaning breaking ores underwater is just a waste of time.
Just asking because I had to abandon a couple of veins of iron underneath all that water. Since in my survival series, I found a submerged cave and spent way to long trying to clear out the water.
Tbh, I am not a redstone guy. However, I am fairly sure that this can be achieved. I will send the link of this post to a friend who is good at Redstone, so maybe he can respond with the answer.
Sounds like it would make a fun minigame. Save as many sheep as you can before the time runs out!
How about, how many sheep you can save, and how many pigs you can murder. Like a scenario is going to kill sheep, but then you legit just have to swap out the sheep for a pig. because, KILL ALL PIGS!!!
I've been making videos (mostly inconsistently) for a little under 3 years now, through this time I have learned quite a bit about the video creation process. Still, like many people I have always had a hard time trying to find an interested audience (from lack of consistency combined with a general lack of knowledge). On platforms like Twitch &, Youtube, I have been able to connect with a few interested people who (I think) have enjoyed my content, but I genuinely want to know what you guys think about my channel. Is it really even worth watching?
If you love building in Minecraft and can make some cool stuff, then I am looking for your Help. Currently, me and a small team are beginning the production of a 4 episode miniseries in Minecraft. The goal of this 4 episode series is simply to start to refine the process of producing minecraft mini-films (we have bigger plans for the future). I'm looking for people who know a thing or two about building, and also want to work at improving their building.
What would Your responsibility be?
The main thing we are looking for is that with our input you build a set for specific scenes within the film. This may be as simple as building a house/base for one of our characters to stay in (however the future productions will demand more in-depth builds).
SAMPLES
Simply to give you an idea of what I am talking about here are a couple of examples of the style of videos we are working on producing.
POSTED ThIS IN THE WRONG SECTION OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
JOIN the live premiere of my little youtube cinematic, Working towards weekly releases of this type of content as well as other videos on the channel coming soon. Ask any questions and maybe give some criticism (Haters Welcome as well!! - Cause that's still a view)
DON'T MISS THE PREMIERE!!! lol
So I suggested a new style of videos to my friend based on a more narrative-based gaming video (they actually went and made it) and I just wanted to ask you guys if people would be interested in a full-length format of this type of content. What is your opinion? Would you watch?

I think the best way to achieve this is simple by the use of tags
Player on the attacking team gets AttackTeam tag
Player on the defending team gets DefendingTeam tag
then test for two conditions: 1. players has killed another player 2. player is on said team
Then I would manually use the execute to add the score to the team of the player.
Need any more help either reply or msg me on discord (Justinlp#0222)
