Play a survival world locked on hard difficulty with cheats disabled (don't even switch to a LAN world to change these settings) and try to complete every advancement. Whilst doing so build a large base of some kind and find creative ways to store all the loot you've hoarded.

Perl posted a message on What have you done recently?Posted in: Survival ModeJust a few days ago I created a small (136 mods) sci-fi themed modpack on Minecraft v1.11.2 and started my adventure. I made myself a modern'ish style house to start me off in my adventures, but do not have much expertise when it comes to building in all honesty, with this being one of my first attempts at making buildings that go beyond a simplistic, utilitarian style.
After finding the location and enjoying the view I built my house on the seashore and the headquarters on a nearby islet, then connected the islet to the mainland with a small bridge.
I also built a large building to serve as my headquarters and base of operations, and to host the more general-use machinery that will help me on my journey.
Resource Pack used in the screenshots is a mixture of the Unity Resource Pack by CyanideX and the Unity-Styled Zederrian Technology Resource Pack by Zerrens in an attempt to provide the maximum possible coverage available to me (I am not a texture artist) for the mods in the modpack.
Neither resource pack is unmodified, however, I had to port some textures from versions of Unity for previous versions of Minecraft because they had become lost or incompatible in the transition from 1.7.10 to 1.10.2+, on top of the many textures from Zederrian Technology that required some very painstaking and time-consuming renaming to reflect the changes in texture names from v1.7.10 to v1.11.2.
Many textures used to use camelcase (itemName) type of names, but Minecraft v1.11.2 made lowercase (item_name) the standard.
It was all worth it at the end though, with the Zederrian Technology textures for GalactiCraft being among my favorites.

Sometimes you have to kill the realistic elements of a game so that the things you want in a game come through.
What ALL GAMES NEED:
Interesting/novel mechanics
Clever/Engaging implementation of mechanics
An interface that allows the functionality of that implementation.
Temperature/thirst mechanics always seem to miss ALL THREE POINTS.
Temperature/thirst is not interesting nor is it novel
It is usually never presented with any clever or engaging mechanic (usually a bar with a penalty system... BORING!)
There is no clear interface that allows a player to meaningfully respond to changes in stimulus except for going for numeric efficiency. Again, boring.

Support! A use for a previously useless Silverfish!

Yeah, that would be helpful...
My suggestion: /setblock can place the different forms of fire. Automatically goes out if a block is not where it is needed.
EDIT: Also add Wither Skeleton and Elder Guardian spawn eggs. So we can make them fall from the ceiling by dispenser in our
friend's housepuzzle map.7
I know what you're thinking- "But VolcanoBomber458, why would I need dirt?" If you play Skyblock you'd know that dirt is very rare. Farming, animal spawning, land in general, it really helps. If you have access to at least 2 dirt, a hoe and the Nether, congrats. Infinite dirt.
The science behind it- basically there is a block called Coarse Dirt. With 2 dirt and 2 gravel in opposite corners, you make 4. And guess what it becomes if you hoe it? Dirt. The Nether contains large quantities of gravel so you have plenty of gravel available.
Just make sure your shovel doesn't have Fortune
I hope this tip was more helpful than my tip about jack-o-lanterns.

Easy: dopaminergic pathway. The longer you play Minecraft, the more dopamine you get, right? WRONG. It's the other way around. Through desensitization, our brains can shut show dopamine receptors and make us slowly grow bored. This can be prevented by limiting how much we consume.
Simply put, take a break for a day or two

Instead of adding a new kind of cup, why not just drink from Water Bottles? The things you use for brewing? Oh, and Potions could also restore thirst.

I think I know. Just to make sure, do /gamerule doTileDrops true and /gamerule doEntityDrops true

Play Survival Update 4: Updates and Useless Redstones
I was playing a world with my dad and sister, in a cave just having a good time, when I remembered this. I quickluy exited and put some suff together. Here it is- Update 4!
Long story short- I wanted to build something. I had a lot of melon. And I mean a lot. So I did some crafting and this came to be.
Useless Redstone #1- The Sand Dropper! Which does...
Yeah.
Useless Redstone #2- The Door Noiser! What does it do?
Oh, only open the door over and over again. And you can jump through it if you want.
And I got bored a minute ago, saw my bricks and abundance of dirt, and Jim came to be.
And finally, I started filling the bottom of my lake with Jack-O-Lanterns.
Thanks for reading! Try getting some more people to read it, okay? I put quite some time into building these and I have big things planned.

About 120 years old? (Rough estimate, can't figure out, but I started in 1.3.2.)

Wait whoa whoa whoa... you're just overreacting. There might be a dinosaur texture pack, which would allow your sun to play in a world where everything looks like dinosaur stuff. Or maybe it's a dinosaur skin pack, which would allow your son to play in a world as a dinosaur.
