Tizorna posted a message on Rotator Block!(Rotating blocks,rails ,redstone items and over Ton More Uses!)(Has lots of Pictures)*150+ Supporters!*-Control ThRotatorPosted in: Suggestions
This special device made with Red stone , Cobble ,Iron ,Wood and a Slimeball.
Recipe:
Version 1 of the Rotator
*Right Click Rotator*
Animated 3d Gif.
Here is the Block map i created and used for this model
How to Use:
If placed on floor the Job of this item is to rotate the one item above it 90 degrees clockwise Instantly each pulse of power, Right clicking the Side of it makes it set for counter-clockwise or vice versa.
If placed on the ceiling the Rotator is turned upside down and rotates the block below it 90 degrees clockwise Instantly each pulse of power and By Right clicking it the Side of it makes it set for counter-clockwise or vice versa.
To Place block on the Rotator Just Hold Shift while placing.
If Breakable items like tourches and signs are placed on top of rotator or a rotated block they will not brake or pop off from the rotation.
When the Rotations are Changed the Arrows on the side turns to the Correct direction needed.
When Right Clicked The Rotator will make a Click Noise and When Power is applied it will Make
a quick Buzz noise. To not be confused with the sound of Pistons.
And if power stays ON the Rotator it still only Rotate 90 degrees once, Similar to how Dispensers Work
sence update 13w04a came out Despensers and Droppers can now be faces up and down, I think rotators Could maybe work on there sides to add a way to turn these devices clockwise or counter-clockwise much like clocks.
only suggesting this cuase i seen new update and i think Rotators could help make
survival mode and Adventure map creation alot more Wide Range.
Version 2 of the Rotator
*Redstone Rotator*
animated gif showing all sides of the rotator version 2
this is the Blocks Map i used for the model. below
Version 2 Info: Version 2 Works about the same way as the version 1 Rotator and has same recipe but instead of a right click to change direction of the rotating instead block rotates based on the side where you apply power.
Added (3/20/2013): If Rotators are added This Would be a Good Way to Add More Face Blocks and Maybe some With useful Functions as well.
Director Block Name not fully set only temporary
New redstone Block to add Director Block Its made to go hand in hand with the Rotator The ideas are related so does not count as wish list
ike seen below animated gif.
Director block does not produce signal in any dirction besides the one block space in front of it. like seen below not animated.
this block used with rotators would be used for Extremly advanced curcuitry.
if used you can create more advanced compact clocks, timers, decoders ,turrets, Rs Nor-Latches and lots more.
this block can be used with Pistons as well.
recipe for this block is simple.
Suggested names for Director: Redstone Director. only one suggested at the moment.
uses 7 Solid Stone and 1 Redstone Torch.
List of items and that can be rotated.
1.Repeaters
2.normal Rail tracks
3.Detector Rails
4.Power Rails
5.Pistons Normal
6.Pistons Sticky
7.Any Logs
8.Any stairs cases
9.Pumpkins
10.Jack o' lanterns
11.Trap Doors
12.Comparators
Blocks hope to Work with Rotors :
1.Dispensers
2.Furnaces
3.Iron doors
4.Wood Doors
5.Signs
6.Hoppers
7.Droppers
1.If this is use in Mine Cart systems that have many X Crossing points using Detector Rails
the track can be spun 90 degrees allowing the Minecraft to go a specific Path. Good for mining and Minecraft Puzzles.
2. If used Upside down with Dispensers you can make Automatic Turn Turret. This is Usefull for Adventure Maps and House hold Defense.
3.if used With Repeaters this can make 2-4 way circuitry much easier.
4.If used with the 13w01a Redstone Comparator this can be used to make Extremly Complcated Circuitry.
5 If Used with 13w01a Hopper thats placed with the Out funnel to the side you can make one hopper do the job of 2 Hoppers. Like for a Cart Line filling 2 Carts on 2 Tracks or Fill to separate Chests.
Havent Thought of more useful Functions. If you like you can suggest more.
1.if Used With Pumpkins/ Jack o Lanterns this would be Good for a front Yard or in a Haunted house?
Havent Thought of more Decorative Functions. If you like you can suggest more.

MCFUser6898980 posted a message on Random textures for blocks! (Partially outdated)Posted in: SuggestionsIMPORTANT: Long time has passed and now I am certain that developers don't care about forums and community suggestions. But you CAN implement random textures into your texture pack and clients with MCpatcher or optifine will see them. I made a tutorial a while ago but it is horribly outdated and I have no idea how it works now and I don't feel like updating it, sorry.
The idea:According to my idea, there would be few different textures for every block (or almost every) that game would randomly pick when the block is placed or found already placed. Common suggestion was also to add random items too.This should improve the way everything looks (especially with texture packs) and it would work similarly to random mobs mod that is already supported and used in many texture packs. Look below if something is not clear for you yet.
Scheme below is OUTDATED due to changes in 1.5 then later in 1.6 In fact it's easier implement with today versionsMore pictures in the spoiler!
Misa's Realistic texture pack with this addition:
Quote from Misa
Y'know, this idea has been a working feature of MCPatcher since mid-April... I've supported it in my pack since it first came out. I'm kinda surprised people still don't know about it at this point. Check the documentation on the MCPatcher thread under the information for texture pack authors. The random texture feature is under the CTM support (method=random). You can even give weights to the random textures so that some are more likely to randomly show up than others. Here's just a few examples of some of the stuff you can do with the feature:
Random textures on grass, tall grass, and flowers.
Random textures on stone bricks to make them look a bit less perfect.
Random mushrooms with a closer shot of some of the random stone bricks.
Random labeling on TNT blocks. (You can also use random textures to give fences unique art not shared with planks.)
All of the above screenshots were taken with only MCPatcher installed(no other mods), and my pack selected.
- I've found few replies in various posts about this, but I wanted more people to see it. This is only an suggestion so far, and i simply modified my terrain.png files.
- Mojang has already done something like this - mossy and cracked bricks in strongholds that add much more variation. And if any of you played Terraria, you should get the idea because variations between grass, blocks and everything else is also seen there.
- And since many of you mentioned, this could be optional, let's say a texture pack artist doesn't have enough time for this, he simply leaves all variants of block texture same.
You're welcome to send me more pictures showing how this feature looks in a texture pack of some kind. I'd post them here.
You'd really help if you post this banner into your signature!!! (copy-paste the code below)[url="http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1020295-random-textures-for-blocks-adds-more-variation-to-minecraft/"][img]http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4730/wertyui.png[/img][/url]

RontoKing posted a message on Improving Command Blocks! - The ultimate place for all wanted Command Block features! - new variables, arguments, commands and oNow we all probably know of the awesome block known as the Command Block and it definitely is one of the best things ever added into Minecraft.But why stop with those simple commands? Why not turn it into something even better by adding even more features?Posted in: Suggestions
Now I know there are already a few topics suggesting new things for Command Blocks, but here I will try to create a huge list of new features that should be added while also adding whatever anyone else comes up with. Doing this we can place all of the most wanted things for Command Blocks into one single topic.But enough with that, let us begin with the suggestions:
Variables
@m - targets only mobs and not players@mr - targets a random mob
@mp - targets nearest mob@e - targets players and mobs@er - targets random player or mob@ep - targets nearest player or mob@b - targets blocks
@br - targets a random block@bp - targets the nearest block. If there are more blocks equally near the command block then it targets a random one.
@i - targets dropped items, items carried by mobs or players, and items stored in chests, hoppers...
@ir - targets a random dropped item, item carried by a mob or player, and item stored in a chest, hopper...
@ip - targets nearest dropped item, item carried by a mob or player, and item stored in a chest, hopper...
Game Rules
doItemDrop - if this is false than players cannot drop items from their inventory
playerGriefing - Unlike adventure mode if this is set to true players cannot destroy ANYTHING at all
Arguments
f - unlike x,y and z this tells the command block where a player, mob or any item that has different textures on different sides is facing (Credit to Tizorna)
Example:
kill @b[f=90, type=piston] - This destroys every piston that is facing north
hunger - Checks how many hunger "points" a player has.Example: give @a[hunger=5] 260 1 - gives every player with a low hunger bar 1 apple
type - Checks what type the target is.
Example:
type=Creeper
type=Pigtype=EnderDragon
type=VillagerGolem
type=Wolftype=dirt
type=swordDiamond
iamin() - This would mean Item Amount Minimum. This targets players who have at least the number of items of a type specified.
Example:
tp @a[iamin(137)=4] 37 65 76 - Teleports all players who have at least 4 Command Block to the given coordinates. This means it won't target those who have less than 4(Idea by faissaloo).
iamax() - This would mean Item Amount Maximum. This targets players who have no MORE than the number of items of a type specified.
Example:
tp @a[iamax(137)=3] 37 65 76 - Teleports all players who have at most 1 Command Block to the given coordinates. This means it won't target those who have more than 3(Idea by faissaloo).
op - Checks for players who are OPs or not OPs on a server.
Example:
tp @a[op=0] @r - This teleports every unit who is not an operator to a random player
tell @a[op=1] Hello admins! - This would say "Hello admins!" to every operator on the server.
name - Checks what the name of a mob/item/player is. If the target is a mob or item it will output whatever you renamed it to. If it has not been renamed it will basically output the same thing type(see above) would. If the target is a player it will output the player's name.
Example:
kill @i[name=Sword of Epic] - this destroyes every item named Sword of Epic there is.
canchat - This would either be true or false. It depends on whether a player has been targeted by chatdisable or chatenable. It is false if they cannot chat and true if they can.
Example:
tell @a[canchat=false] You have been silenced!
state - checks where an item is gives a number as an answer
1 - The item is dropped
2 - The item is carried by a player
3 - The item is carried by a mob
4 - The item is inside a chest
5 - The item is inside a trapped chest
6 - The item is inside a dispenser
7 - The item is inside a dropper
8 - The item is inside a hopper
9 - The item is inside a furnace
Example:kill @ip[type=glass, state=4] - This command destroys 1 glass block inside the command block's nearest chest. If there are multiple chests equally near the command block a random one is chosen.
Commands
wait - waits a number of seconds and outputs a redstone signal afterwards
Example:
wait 5 - waits 5 seconds
replace - replaces a block, item or mob with another block, item or mob
Example:
replace @b[type=dirt,rm=1,r=5] stone - this replaces every dirt block near the Command Block into stone blocks(this can be used to build huge structures without MCEdit
Because there is a block almost everywhere(air is also a block) you can basically use replace to spawn a block as no matter what coordinates you give there will always be a block there(I believe).
heal - adds or removes a number of hearts from the target
Example:
heal @a[health=0.5] 10 - This fully heals all players that are about to die
heal @m[type=creeper] -100 - This is a safe way to kill every creeper on the map.
allow - makes a mob that has been disabled again able to spawn.
Example:
allow creeper - creepers are again allowed to spawn.
disable - makes a type of mob unable to spawn again and all that have already spawned are removed.
Example:
disable enderman - No more endermen can spawn and all that exist are removed.
spawn - Creates a mob at the given coordinates.
Example:
spawn creeper 56 84 43 - Spawns a creeper at the given coordinates.
chatdisable - whoever is targeted with this command cannot chat at all.
Example:
chatdisable @a[op=0,iamax(264)=0] - this would disable all players who are not operators and who do not have at least 1 diamond from chatting.Note that this does not exactly forbid players to type a chat message. Instead, once the player presses enter the chat message isn't shown. However, if the message was a command and the player has permission to use such commands the command will be executed.
chatenable - this command would allow the targeted player to chat again.
Example:
chatenable @a[m=1] - this would allow each player who is in creative to chat.
texture - this would change a block's texture to another block's texture.(Credit to Atm12397)
Example:
texture(@bp[type=stone])=gravel - this sets the nearest stone block's texture to gravel's texture so that it looks exactly like gravel.
timespeed - changes the duration of a Minecraft day/night cycle(Credit to MrBlackDrag0nFly)
Example:
timespeed 6 - sets the duration of 1 day/night cycle to 6 Minecraft hours
permission - Allows or forbids a player from using a command. Similar to giving them operator status except you don't give them permission for everything.
Example:
permission Notch give true - This allows Notch to use the tp command without actually giving him op status.
So basically it's:permission [player] [command] [true/false]
lightning - Creates lightning at the given x and z coordinates or the x and z coordinates of a given target
Example:
lightning @r - This creates lightning at the x and z coordinates of a random player
Note: The Y coordinate is not needed as the lightning will strike at the highest block on the given x and y coordinate so if you target a player that is in a cave the lightning wouldn't actually hit the player.
A completely new command called var
This command might be a bit confusing but would be of great use to mapmakers!
var - Creates a new variable and if it already exists it sets it to whatever you typed.
Examples:
var Thingamajig=8 - This creates a variable called Thingamajig and sets it to 8.
var Thingamajig=2 - Since we already made a variable of this name now it sets it to 2.
You could also set the variable to:
A PLAYER'S OR MOB'S:
X position
var Thingamajig=x(@ep)
var Thingamajig=x(@er)
Y position
var Thingamajig=y(@ep)
var Thingamajig=y(@er)
Z position
var Thingamajig=z(@ep)
var Thingamajig=z(@er)
F position
var Thingamajig=f(@ep)
var Thingamajig=f(@er)
Health
var Thingamajig=health(@ep)
var Thingamajig=health(@er)
Name
var Thingamajig=name(@ep)
var Thingamajig=name(@er)
A PLAYER'S:
Gamemode
var Thingamajig=m(@p)
var Thingamajig=m(@r)
X position
var Thingamajig=x(@p)
var Thingamajig=x(@r)
Y position
var Thingamajig=y(@p)
var Thingamajig=y(@r)
Z position
var Thingamajig=z(@p)
var Thingamajig=z(@r)
F position
var Thingamajig=f(@p)
var Thingamajig=f(@r)
Amount of a certain item
var Thingamajig=ia(@p)
var Thingamajig=ia(@r)
Health
var Thingamajig=health(@p)
var Thingamajig=health(@r)
Hunger
var Thingamajig=hunger(@p)
var Thingamajig=hunger(@r)
Name
var Thingamajig=name(@p)
var Thingamajig=name(@r)
A MOB'S:
X position
var Thingamajig=x(@mr)
var Thingamajig=x(@mp)
Y position
var Thingamajig=y(@mr)
var Thingamajig=y@mp)
Z position
var Thingamajig=z(@mr)
var Thingamajig=z(@mp)
F position
var Thingamajig=f(@mp)
var Thingamajig=f(@mr)
Type
var Thingamajig=type(@mr)
var Thingamajig=type(@mp)
Health
var Thingamajig=health(@mr)
var Thingamajig=health(@mp)
Name
var Thingamajig=name(@mr)
var Thingamajig=name(@mp)
A BLOCK'S:
X position
var Thingamajig=x(@br)
var Thingamajig=x(@ip)
Y position
var Thingamajig=y(@br)
var Thingamajig=y@ip)
Z position
var Thingamajig=z(@br)
var Thingamajig=z(@bp)
F position
var Thingamajig=f(@br)
var Thingamajig=f(@bp)
Type
var Thingamajig=type(@br)
var Thingamajig=type(@bp)
Name
var Thingamajig=name(@bp)
var Thingamajig=name(@br)
AN ITEM'S:
X position
var Thingamajig=x(@br)
var Thingamajig=x(@ip)
Y position
var Thingamajig=y(@br)
var Thingamajig=y@ip)
Z position
var Thingamajig=z(@br)
var Thingamajig=z(@bp)
Type
var Thingamajig=type(@br)
var Thingamajig=type(@bp)
Name
var Thingamajig=name(@bp)
var Thingamajig=name(@br)
(If an item is inside a chest, hopper... then its coordinates will match the coordinates of the container.)
You can also apply arguments to the targets the variable is set to.
Example:
var Thingamajig=name(@p[lm=1,l=2]) - This sets the variable Thingamajig to the name of the nearest player whose level is either 1 or 2.
Then you can use the variable when typing commands.
Example:
kill var(Thingamajig) - This kills whatever player Thingamajig is set to.Last time we set it to @p[lm=1,l=2].
You can also target more players and it would look like this:
var Admins=@a[op=1] - This sets the variable Admins to all of the players who are admins
say var(Admins) - This would output the variable to every player. The output could look something like this:
RontoKing, Notch, Dinnerbone (Quite creative names xD)
As you can see the variable separates the names with a comma.
This would be EXTREMELY useful for storing information which you could use later as in today's Minecraft it is quite hard if not impossible to store any information.
I would also like the ability to place Command Blocks in minecarts!
There should be more lines in Command Blocks as suggested by PanJouda!
It should be possible for the command block to automatically complete what you are typing in it when you press tab just like in the chat as suggested by MrBlackDrag0nFly!
Also some commands that already change would gain additional features:
kill would work for players, mobs, blocks and items
tp would work for players, mobs, blocks and itemstp would also teleport to a specific angle using the f argument.
playsound could be used to actually play custom .ogg files inside resource packs
If you have any ideas please leave a comment and I will add them along with your name next to them!
If you really like these suggestions and would like to support this even more feel free to set this as your signature:

Introduction
One fine snowy evening a man and his children had no options for entertainment, they were bored. They thought and thought on what to do until a spark of light pop in the father's mind.
"Hey! I got an idea." said the father, the children glanced at him with their big white eyes and replied "What is it! What is it!". The father than responded "We could read a book!".
The children instantly frowned saying "BORING!" but than the father quickly added "It's an old survival book with millions of chapters of a icy world!". The children catapult their heads back up and said "Sounds cool! Come on! Read it!".
Chapter 2 - A new world!
Once upon a time, there once lived a man named Tyrone, he was living his normal life when he noticed it started snowing! The snow cheered up his day, so he decided to make some nice hot chocolate. Sitting on his bench, he sipped his beverage once or twice, to test if it was perfect. He admired the snow and their flakes as they fell down from the sky onto the grass. He was enjoying his life.
But he than noticed, his hair turned all white! The snow was covering a lot, piles and piles of snow now, he started to freeze so he rushed inside, in less than 10 minutes his door was already covered! He wondered and wondered why the snow came so quickly!
*grumble* snarled his stomach.
"There aren't going to be any animals outside, I might starve! All I got is this hot chocolate so ." he said, than began to finish is drink.
after he finished. He thought "I need a shovel, but where..".
Chapter 2 - *yawn*
So Tyrone had nothing to do but get a shovel, though he didn't where it would be because he was on vacation for a month, drained 10 diamonds, so he wouldn't craft another.
"I should've kept that cobblestone I threw in the trash, it would help make a shovel." he thought.
*BANG*
"GAH!"
"What the sponge?!" he yelled
The door got a little cracked, somebody must be at the door! He slowly creaked the door open and saw a nose, it was white and silky like the snow but furry, trying to figure out he kept digging and found a wolf!
"RUFF!" growled the dog, he didn't seem happy at all, Tyrone could see why. He was all scarred and bruised. Tyrone quickly carried him to the fireplace and got his favourite childhood blanky to warm him up, the dog seem relaxed and reliefed.
"You look starving-" Tyrone said, holding his cup he noticed he still had a little more hot chocolate. "Here, drink this, its all we got." he suggested to the dog, the dog had nothing better to do but to drink it so he did, and they fell asleep, happily.
They had sure of a big day tomorrow, very big.
Chapter 3 - I love the sun!
The sun was shining, pigs were snorking, and cows were mooing.
Tyrone and his dog woke up, the door was wide open and everything was pretty much melted, so the man and his dog decided to walk outside.
"I havent named you yet, how about I name you-" Tyrone said, he thought and thought until he came up of a name! "Frost! How do you like that?"he suggested, the dog seemed to like that name so he was now named Frost.
So they took a nice walk outside, Tyrone got a whole 3 stacks of food and lots of wood, and the wolf took a nice excercise.
They were walking until the wolf was not looking and fell in a ravine! Lucky in a pool, of water.
Tyrone quickly used his wood and made some ladders, the ladders took 1 whole stack of wood but no worry because he had a lot. He made a ladder and picked up Frost when he noticed a baby pig and his father were at the top of the ladder.
"Wait, didnt I kill this pigs wife for food?" Tyrone thought, the pig and his son stomped all over the ladder until it was as weak as paper, than a silly cow jumped on the ladder and broke it.
"We are trapped! Plus night is rising, we should quickly get some shelter in here. And maybe cobble to escape!" Tyrone told Frost, Frost agreed with the idea and went. The snow was starting to come back and everything was winter in just a few minutes.
Tyrone quickly grabbed his pickaxe and mined a small room, invited Frost and the cow inside and closed the door shut with some cobblestone.
"Why us?" Tyrone thought.
Why?
Chapter 4 - Damn Cow!
While Tyrone was digging out more shelter, Frost and the cow tried to get along, because they knew they would be with each other for a while, but then Frost noticed a sparkle, quickly he banged the wall with his hand to get some attention.
"AH- oh it's just you, whatcha find boy-" suddenly, Tyrone noticed the sparkle too, it was a clear gemstone with a little blue in it, "A diamond! Good boy! Now I can make a shovel!" he said to Frost.
About 5 minutes later Tyrone was crafting some sticks for torches when all of a sudden the cow wasn't looking and banged his head on the roof, like really hard, water starting leaking and Tyrone quickly grabbed Frost and struggled with the cow and mined their way out, they seemed to of rised up, because it was just 3 blocks to the surface.
Weird.
Anyway they got out when all of a sudden-
BOOM!
Chapter 5 - Hello?
The sun was setting, once again, and Tyrone was smothered in.. sand?
Tyrone struggled himself up to realize that he was in a desert! Desperately turning his head to the left, no Frost or Cow, to the right, nothing.
Tyrone was separated from the group! He ran and ran through the endless flat world desperately looking for the rest of the team.
Running and running he got exhausted and then.
He fainted.
Once again.
Chapter 6 - Ruff?
Meanwhile, Frost woke up with the cow, still in the snow biome. The cow was asleep, well that what Frost thought, he tried to wake the cow, no awaken, Frost soon realized he was dead. But he didn't just stand there and cry, he still had a little bit of wild in him.
And Frost just found his breakfast, but it is night, so isn't it dinner? Whatever, Frost just found his feast.
Walking and walking through the forest, Frost was quietly sneaking through, until he fell right into a cave, with only a scar on his arm (haha that rhymed) Frost went onto walking out of the cave until.. He was surrounded! Zombies, Skeletons, Creepers, and Endermen, Frost stayed completely still.
TO BE CONTINUED!! !!

Also.. I was bored so I made a picture:
Get more pictures here!

It took me like a whole hour to do this.. but I tried really hard.
My brain is exploding trying to think up a image for this. So I kept ignoring it. Sorry.
It's just you really confuse me with your idea, are you fine with me not doing your idea?
If not, I will try my absolute best to do it.
Also, trying to image your suggestion would cause a lot of lag to the software I use to do this.
Yes, I have a really crap computer.
I never expected this much reputation!
Thank YOU!
