If TinfoilHate really doesn't play minecraft anymore and won't even get the invite, then seriously, give it to someone who will actually appreciate it and use it (not me, I don't have time).
Do some random lucky dip and pick out another winner. Really. Come on.

Go to http://account.mojang.com and run through the prompts.
Once I made the mojang account connected to my minecraft account, I tried logging on to minecraft again, and it asked me to log on with my mojang account instead of minecraft username. I did that and it worked for me.

The sword name thing is an excellent idea, adding customisation and all.
Quick Idea: Maybe once you've built the second tier of your kingdom, you could incorporate the enderdragons into it, or some other creature that you could ride and use to attack others. Except, maybe make it a bit controllable and not-so-destructive...

just open it and choose your minecraft.jar in the bin folder and press test minecraft. It makes the sound work.

Yeah, I'm running minecraft on mac as well (on OS X 10.6.6) and I'm running the linux version too. I haven't had sound since 1.4. The only way I got sound was running it off MCPatcherHD and clicking 'Test Minecraft', except I can install some mods because I can't alter the .jar file.
