Well, all they need to really do now is incorporate pistons and redstone into PE. Now THAT would be cool. It'll come. I hope.

Allocating more RAM to Minecraft really means nothing, it uses about 150-200mb. Get a good dedicated graphics card and a 2ghz+ processor.

    5. Things that could help you are:
    - Allocating more RAM to your server/Minecraft client.

You have answered all of those questions well NotTheOP, but the RAM one. Increasing the Ram doesn't help at all, it just makes your computer slower when you run the server. When I start my server, in the stats box it is only using somewhere between 50-60 mb, and I have 1gb allocated to it. You only need about 512mb and it should run well. But like you said, adjusting graphics options can help

It depends a lot on your processor and graphics card. My laptop is pretty bad right now, it has 2gb of RAM and a 1.3ghz dual core AMD Vision e300 APU, and I get 30-40 fps on fast graphics mode. Try another computer with something like a core 15 2.5ghz and a 1gb dedicated graphics card, you should increase to 60-100 fps on fancy graphics.

    Good luck with your server!

    Don't know, don't post.
The nvidia GPU is made for gaming.
OP, don't get that. It uses a two generation old GPU, which will be slower and more likely a similar price to a new one.
    What's your budget?
I found the same model at $1299, which is a horrible ripoff. This is better and cheaper: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/ (Get the $779 or $879 options, best deals of all of them)

Thanks for your help Miiralion, but my parents bought it for me a week ago. :( But I have seen reviews of it running sky rim and max Payne 3 on the Nvidia card, skyrim getting around 60fps and max Payne 3 getting in the high 70's.
    Thanks again for your help

    Hi all,
I am getting a new laptop for Christmas, because my current one is really bad, running MC at a painfully slow frame rate of 11 fps. My Christmas present is the Sony Vaio S, and it has 2 graphics cards, the. Intel HD 4000 and Nvidia GeForce GT 540m which you can switch between, 8gb of RAM and Intel Core i5 at 2.5 Ghz. I just wanted to know what sort of frame rate I might get on the Nvidia card?
    Thanks heaps ;)
