When there's no updates, assume the mod is dead. Assume everything.
Would love to see you keep working on this one day though. And I'm really looking forward to the goggles of tru sight. Would help with a Zelda recreation map.
is the rift key in fact a dummy code item? it looks cool. also looking-glass for dimensional doors would be really sweet. i could finally build the tardis i have always wanted to.
I'm checking to see if Looking-Glass works with Dim Doors as they are now anyways.
Edit: It does not. Latest Looking-Glass does not work with the test 1.7.10 build of Dim Doors.
For years, A Link to the Past has stood as one of the greatest Zelda games of all time. Several recreations of the map have been made before, however, none will be as accurate as this. The Legend shall be reborn again.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a popular map for recreations in Minecraft. The 16-bit art style makes it easy for map makers to recreate as every 16-bits is one block in minecraft. A perfect 1:1 scale. However, not every recreation is as accurate as they should be. Many creators tried to cram the dungeons into small areas, others just leave them out all together for the sake of the overworld beauty. My own creation will have the dungeons as they should be. Where they belong in their full size and full glory (minus some obvious things). As I can not do this without mods, I must thank the mod creators that have helped me so far just with the creation of their mods. Each one I use will be used in some aspect.
The light world of my recreation has been built so far. View it by opening the spoiler below.
How will I build the dungeons in such small spaces? By using Command Blocks, of course. While the creation of the overworld has gone on for the past few months, the addition of Command Blocks long ago had sparked my interest on how to continue this map. The answer was to build the Dungeons off map in the distance or underground, and to use command blocks to teleport you to either the entrance or exit. No dungeons have currently been built except for the "Castle Dungeon" from the beginning of the game, and that itself is not even fully finished as it requires several floors of precise placing.
I will update this thread as much as possible with information such as "What I have done for this week" and "What is planned to happen". Some updates will include pictures, most will not as to keep suspense for the first release to the beginning of the Castle Tower dungeon. I hope you can wait patiently for updates and be prepared for Link to the Past in Minecraft completely.
I will also require an experienced modder's assistance. I need a half-height jump script to prevent climbing over blocks. I wish for them to still be able to "somewhat" jump over gaps, but not be able to jump over blocks and get out of the map or go to an area they are not allowed yet. I'm still allowing mostly open overworld as "flippers" will be a hard to make mod and instant death is not cool just for jumping in water.
