Thanks! Nice to see you again!

In response to your question, zero--I haven't seen Top Gear. "Stig" was my attempt at creating an original protagonist name. About a month ago, I learned that Stig is actually a Swedish name, which kind of makes sense with the whole Minecraft thing.

Sounds like an interesting idea! I'd suggest adding screenshots and info before you publish the topic, though--there's not much I can do suggestion-wise at this point.

Nice idea! I think the Better Than Wolves mod has that. Put this on the Suggestions forum if you want it in vanilla Minecraft.

Also, have you seen the eighth blocks mod? I'm not sure what the official name is, but it adds a Hammer to the game that can break eights out of any block, adding a bunch of building permutations to the game.

posted a message on DownFall Of Minecraft (Correct Me If Wrong)
While Minecraft certainly has a somewhat different feel, I don't think it's at all worse. The new adventurous content doesn't really detract from building; I've been building a lot on my survival world, especially after the Redstone Update. Attribute system? Awesome for mapmakers. Horses? Awesome for explorers. There are plenty of good things going on in this update, and I'd love to see where Mojang is going with future updates.

    Quote from RedstoneWireTech
The upcoming addition of horses and hay is just stupid. What is this, my little pony!? Please don't kill me for saying that

Nope. The horses are mute, have realistic colors, have no powers, can't defeat mobs and have no qualities of rational thought. Besides, a pony update would completely unbalance the game--mostly because Applejack would be the world's best Minecrafter. :)

posted a message on Notch or Jeb_ who is better? In your opinion.
Notch was best at the beginning, and Jeb is best now--Notch himself believed this when he let Jeb be head developer while Notch worked on other projects.

Notch came up with the big ideas that made Minecraft what it is. Jeb is responsible for the detail, filling out the gameplay, and adding a wealth of content that locks in with and improves upon the feel of the game. Their roles were perfectly chosen for their times.

posted a message on Why do people keep saying Minecraft is turning into/is an RPG?
I personally love the fact that Mojang has figured out a way to make RPG elements (particularly the new Attribute system for items) fit the look and feel of Minecraft. Rather than worrying about Minecraft becoming an RPG, think of all the lovable RPG gameplay being Minecraftified!

Let's see... up until not too long ago, I only played on peaceful. I would turn easy on every great once in a while. I was honestly scared to fight monsters and stuff.

That's what I used to do too! I did that a lot before the hunger update, when it was the only way I could regenerate health; I was bad at getting food.

By the way, I forgot one:
    • Found a spider dungeon. It was embedded in a hill, clearly visible aboveground, and one of the walls was broken so I could see straight in! I couldn't beat the 3-4 spiders inside. I tried everything to get at the spawner (no, not to light it up, to break it. With my fist.) I eventually tried to come in from above, breaking a hole in the ceiling as I peered into the dim room. As I silently mocked the spiders trying to reach me, the spawner decided to drop a spider right behind me, reaching out of the dungeon to push me in and kill me. I forget how I took care of the dungeon after that.

    Hmm, where to begin...?
    • Back in Alpha, I had no idea what was deep underground so I dug straight down. I hit obsidian and got stuck. If the obsidian was lava before, I have no idea where the water came from...
    • I was extremely happy to get my very first two iron ingots because I was so bad at mining--I spent a long time looking through crafting recipes (since I didn't know them all at the time). I forget exactly what I made, but it was not a pickaxe or bucket.
    • The first thing I used diamonds on? A shovel. I terraformed the area around my base, but it ended up looking pretty ugly. It was my only diamond for a long time.
    • The second thing I used diamonds on? A sword. I lost it almost immediately to a skeleton. I couldn't find it again.
    • (Now for the more recent ones) I noticed that my floating octagonal house was creating a huge dark spot on the ground. Since I was on a small server with friends, I decided to make a mob "arena", a mob farm with some level of difficulty. I built the whole thing on a slant and added a machine that drops water, so that players who die can push the mobs and items into a bin, kill the mobs and recollect the items. It was perfect, except for one detail...I was under the impression that creepers couldn't destroy cobblestone. For the rest of that server's lifespan, there was a wrecked arena sitting useless under my house.
    • I went to the nether with a full inventory of items, including a Power III bow (which was a big deal for me.) I don't know why I tried to jump that two block gap, why I jumped extremely early or why I didn't even try to sprint, but I was forced to contemplate my own stupidity while sitting in lava. It was my second-worst death on that world.
I guess six big embarrassments isn't too bad...

The Xbox One looks pretty terrible from what I've heard, so maybe Minecraft is so good that it offers some compensation for buying the console?

Also, if you have an idea for a fanfiction, my advice would be to go for it. Moonrise was a lot worse before I actually started writing.

posted a message on Citadel Storm (Server Suggestion) (Hypothetical)
I was thinking a flat land, only a couple of blocks thick to prevent tunneling, at about y=246. Rather than the rings being like "levels", they're more like modules of landscape that players must wander through in order to get necessary materials. Blocks could become a rarity by turning off tile drops and making some monsters drop planks and such. Also, with very few barriers between rings, players must be ready to face adjacent rings as well as the ones their in. As the Citadel is approached, mobs spawn with higher and higher health, and rushers are stopped by the reducible sea of mobs produced by dungeons. As rings are culled, players can gather necessary gear faster.

It's a landscape with a radial difficulty which shrinks toward the center as the players progress.

Also, new idea for Legend and Lore: Withers riding invincible, invisible wither skeletons. Thus, they have reduced mobility that keeps them in range, health bars and easy visibility, and the withers shoot arrows from their tails. They could also be ridden by falling-sand entities textured as red and blue wool, and the invisible wither skeletons could wear colored helms.

I'll definitely check out the custom spawners tool; thanks for providing it.

The mockup looks great; thanks! The model you provided is definitely a good one for testing the mechanics of each ring. Now, do you think that the walls are necessary? It could be that the rings function like biomes, with their boundaries blurred though still there. Maybe the barriers could be made out of sand, with one about ring #150, so that they all fall quickly as the players venture forth and the rings are updated?

Once I get some more free time, I'll try building a dungeon (or maybe a floor of the Citadel).
