    posted a message on [V1.6.2] Xie's Mod
This is pretty much my favorite mod for minecraft, but I'm having some problems. I haven't played for a few months so I'm not sure if this is just something that's changed, I tried to search around and couldn't find anything. I have Biome's o plenty, millienaire and xie's mod installed. I've had the same mod configuration in earlier versions. Just in this version I only get 1 sammich no matter which recipe I use. Also pumpkins only break into one pumpkin piece when I use them. I can't make dye from red or yellow seeds either. Is this just a problem in the newest version that I somehow missed when reading posts and such or is this something I'm doing wrong? Again great mod!

Edit: Sorry for dumb post! Just saw that the new update today fixed exactly these things.

posted a message on Suddenly fps drops.
I'm having the same issue with regular FPS drops happening every 2-5 seconds beginning after a half hour or so of play. Once this problem "infects" a world only creating a new world stops the FPS drops, although they begin again after playing that world for about a half hour. It seems to happen faster the more chunks are created in the world. In another thread we discussed this as related to memory issues, although so far we can't seem to pinpoint the problem.

    Hey guys!

I just registered to this forum because I'm having massive issues with lag in Minecraft.

I'm running vanilla 1.1 and as soon as I start up the game and load a previously saved world or a create a new one the lag spikes begin to go up. [snip]

This is how the F3 screen looks like after a few minutes of playing:

Wow, that's even worse than mine. Mine just has one red spike shooting through the top of the screen, but every 5 seconds or so.

Depends upon what versions you are comparing.

Pre 1.8 v 1.8 and later have a definite change because multi-texturing began to be used. Lots of people started having trouble for the first time then.

I'm unaware of any specific change after that, but there could be one.

Interesting. I guess it makes sense that while I'm having more problems with minecrafts stability, the game does run nearly 100fps, vs. the 30fps I got before version 1.9. I guess all I can do is hope this is fixed by either a new version of minecraft or a new version of nvidias drivers.

Both of your reports are consistent with memory leaks in the video driver.
Once enough memory is leaked in the driver, the process will die one way or another. Either because there is no more memory available. Or the process size has grown beyond what 32bit Java can support.

Is there a reason this would suddenly pop up with the newer builds of Minecraft? I hadn't changed video drivers before I started having this issue, then I tried updating as a possible fix.

And update on my case. It seems if I don't launch minecraft with a custom bat, and leave the allocated memory at the default setting I never seem to run into these horrendous lag spikes, but the game will still crash with an out of memory error after an hour or so. It seems like if you give java more memory it gets cluttered up and causes these terrible FPS drops, but if you leave the memory alone there's just not enough to keep minecraft running for any length of time.

Makes me wonder what's different in the cracked version that fixes the memory leak, or whatever it is. I've also noticed for me it seems to have to do with the number of chunks in a world. The more I explore the faster this problem occurs. In my current world I've gone out quiet a ways and built a home on another continent. This world lags and crashes after about 5 minutes. I made a new world and built a home near spawn and I can play for about an hour before any problems pop up.

I didn't want to start a new thread, and I don't want to hijack this one but I may be having the same problem. I noticed at first that after about 20-30 minutes of play my fps would randomly drop to 0 every few seconds then the game would crash. I reinstalled java, updated to java 7, tried allocating more and less ram to java, and tried it with and without optifine. I thought it might be an optifine bug at first. Today the idea hit me that it could be a memory leak, and sure enough when I ran Minecraft with the task manager open I noticed that when the lag spikes happened java was using about 2gb of ram. I have 6gb, but my OS is 32 bit so I can only actually use 3gb (dumb of dell to sell it like that, and dumb of me to buy it). This has only happened to me since Minecraft updated to 1.9.

posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)
I've been having an issue with Optifine since Minecraft 1.0 and I was hoping someone might have a suggestion. I never had the infamous "Lag Spike of Death" before this version, I just used Optifine for the general performance increase. However, since Minecraft updated to 1.0 I get up to 90-100fps with Optifine, but I also get horrendous lag spikes after about 30 minutes of playtime and eventually the game crashes.. Without Optifine I experience no lag spikes, but my normal framerate drops to 20fps or so. This has continued with the realase of Minecraft 1.1 and the current test release of Optifine. During these spikes my fps and chunk updates drop to 0 and they occur roughly every 2-5 seconds. My CPU usage seems to spike to around 80-90% as well. I tried all the different version of Optifine with Minecraft 1.0, all gave me excellent performance boosts, but caused the same lag spikes and crash. Any ideas?

posted a message on [1.4.7] ejhopkins Wild Grass v16.0 updated for Forge
Hey sorry if this has already been answered and I didn't see it, but I searched and skimmed the thread. Since the new update wildgrass is behaving a little weird. The grass seems to spread and grow fine, but when I mow it with the hoe it seems to take a few minutes to register that it's shorter, or gone. It seems to update if I change a nearby block, either by breaking it or tilling it.
