I like Java Edition because of free mods, player made maps, public servers, lots of items that haven't made the transition, it doesn't try to sell me things, the GUI is less sterile and restricted, I'm more used to it's shortcuts and submenus, etc etc

The slightly new update, the Aquatic update, added water logging. This means that water can travel through blocks that water would go through in real life or blocks that aren't a full block: slabs, fences, piston arms, stairs, doors (from he side), brewing stands, gates, trapdoors, glass panes, corals, chests/ender chests, iron bars, wall blocks, Sea pickle, and some others. The new bell isn't able to be waterlogged though because they must've forgot to.
Instead of just the piston arm, use the piston to push a regular block to block the water.
My many suggestions for minecraft! Feel free to comment your suggestions and your opinions of my suggestions (I won't be offended):
Blocks tools and items:
Craft rocks from cobblestone that can be thrown at mobs.
MAYBE have glass doors that rocks can break. Easy to break with hand but can be used to see through. Zombies can break through on hard difficulty.
Bring back glowing obsidian. Can be found in nether and used as a dull light source, decoration, protection, and maybe another use.
Bow and tether made of bow, arrow, and lead. Acts as a grappling hook that can slide you like a zip line where it travels. Has limits like distance and if I tried to go past an obstacle you might crash into it and fall down. Also if you shoot it to far the arrow will travel without you and leave you with a regular bow. you can go to where you shot it and pick up your lead and arrow. Also you can use it to bring mobs straight to you.
Chorus pearl crafted form ender pearl and chorus fruit. If thrown at another entity it will teleport to a random nearby area. Used to save friends in lava pits, hit hostile mobs or enemy players, or just to mess with friends. Can also be dispensed from dispenser.
Rotting wood that eventually breaks under wait of mobs, players, and maybe anvils. Used in traps and maybe naturally spawns in woodland mansions, mineshafts, etc. Maybe can also be Redstone activated. When some activates with let’s say a tripwire, whatever rotting wood that was connected to will crumble fast.
Charged slime blocks are dropped from slime that are struck by lightning. This block repels entities that bonk onto the side and launches entities up automatically when they stand on top.
MAYBE something to store experience points. Has its storage limits. It could be a crystal ball like looking block.
Charcoal as another back dye source instead of killing innocent Squids.
Beacons show up on maps as "waypoints".
With aqua infinity, attack speed increases when underwater. (As when underwater your attack speed is slowed down)
Magma blocks ignite TNT
Nether wart grows faster next to lava.
Bone meal on mycelium places a small mushroom
Attraction enchantment that brings mined items straight to inventory. Depending on lvl of enchantment only works for a certain distance of mining.
Tier 5 Beacons remove hostile mobs from its effect radius. Maybe can be toggled.
When you shear a snow golem’s pumpkin it can drop pumpkin seeds. Also have the snowman’s face be randomized.
When holding torch in hand or offhand it emits light of its own, maybe not as much as a placed torch though. Maybe even the same with sea pickles and Redstone torch, but with lower light level.
Helmet or other armor get illumination enchantment that illuminates it’s own light. Higher the level, more the light.
Craft grass blocks with dirt and grass sprouts (Whig can be obtained withstand shears if you don’t already know). The dirt goes on the bottom row of crafting table and the grass goes above that
Mushroom blocks can be crafted with nine of the small mushrooms. The colors of he mushroom matter.
Chain armor can be crafted with iron ingots.
Cobwebs can be crafted on a crafting table using five string in an "X" shape.
Armor can be crafted to get what it was made of back. More damaged the armor the less materials you get back.

Like most people are saying, i hate greifers. One of my server hobbies is to find grieved buildings and fixing them. I have had some encounters with greifers myself and I know how it feel for your hard work to be destroyed.

I can add armor with commands. It doesn't show the armor but it still gives it the protection. U can do this in mcpe, pc, mac, and Windows 10 edition.
First create an iron golem then do these commands.
Commands:
For The Diamond chestplate:
/replaceitem entity @e[type=iron_golem] slot.armor.chest diamond_chestplate
For the Diamond leggings:
/replaceitem entity @e [type=iron_golem] slot.armor.legs diamond_leggings
For the Diamond boots:
/replaceitem entity @e [type=iron_golem] slot.armor.feet diamond_boots
