We skipped 1.13 altogether since it was just a terribly buggy mess and started playing with 18w30a. From that point on, with the exception of 18w33a, things have gotten a lot better. At this point I'm fairly certain that 1.13.1 will be another good release.

I'm getting a lot of rubber-banding running this snapshot on a dedicated server. Also the server seems to crash periodically. Be careful with this snapshot!

this is the point where the java version is officially obsolete. Console version getting an update first. We can see where the focus is and it makes sense that's where it is (business wise). Java version exists solely for mods, and fewer people even use those since bedrock has the greater player count and all the momentum. It was inevitable
What you're saying is simply not true. Minecraft has sold over 122 million copies. And while the consoles have sold more than the Java edition at this point, there are still hundreds of millions of Java editions out there. Java edition is not dead. People saying that are just being dumb.
Java edition is the definitive version of Minecraft and it always will be. There are tens of thousands of mods for Minecraft Java. Even the current version 1.12 has ~3600 mods listed in 180 pages of mods on CurseForge and that's not even the complete listing of all mods available. Installing and playing mods has never been easier and if you want it even easier still you can just download one of the many mod packs available.
In my opinion people declaring Minecraft Java edition dead are the same kind of people who think console gaming is bigger than PC gaming. Spoiler: PC gaming has been bigger than all the consoles put together for years.

O no, now mod creators have an optional way of getting paid for their hard work!
Such monsters, it's almost like being paid for a service you provide is normal nowadays...
Receiving compensation for work is normal. However mods are not the same as professionally developed and supported DLC.
If I buy a mod, will I get support for it for as long as Minecraft is supported by Mojang? If Minecraft updates, will my paid mods still work? If the mods break due to a forced Minecraft update, can I get a refund? How long will I have to wait for mod updates after a Minecraft update?
These are, I think, valid reasons to take pause when buying mods instead of donating directly to mod authors who do a good job. Personally I only see downsides to paid mods from a consumer perspective. As long as paid mods aren't elevated to be treated equally in terms of support as professionally developed and supported DLC, I'm not going to buy any mods. Instead I will make donations to mod authors who I think are deserving of my money. Over the years I have paid more in donations than I have paid for Minecraft. -

This update looks really nice. Is this content coming to people who bought Minecraft for PC during the alpha fase as was promised by Notch?

Games should become cheaper over time. Minecraft has been around for years. A 30% price increase across the board is ridiculous.

Lava is running out again. So it's time to connect the Fusion Reactor to the main power grid so we can stop using the thermal generators. To make the connection I'm using two Inter Dimensional Storage Units which will transfer all the energy wireless. That is, if I finally manage to get them to work

DOM makes the ultimate sacrifice to advance our knowledge of Fusion Reactors. We wish to know the answer to the question that has been haunting us for weeks: How dangerous is our Fusion Reactor really?

Our ME storage system ran out of materials to make Titanium. To remedy this more power for our quarries is needed. In this video I make an ME pattern for Redstone Energy Conduits and some machines that will enable us to order even more stuff directly from storage.
This video has me doing a voice over because during recording my mic was muted. It's really weird talking about yourself in the third person like that ^^

Today we continue work on setting up our Fusion Reactor and Matter Fabricators. To make our lives a little easier in the future we also add some more recipes to the ME storage system so we can request advanced items like an Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panel, MFSU and Matter Fabricator.
Please note that during the making of this film DOM died twice ^^

We're setting up the Fusion Reactor in our recently build factory building. This time everything is done legitimately which explains why things take a little longer then last time.
DOM and Sverf join the fun and help in making things take even longer by goofing around, putting tracking devices on me and destroying the factory by growing giant trees! I'm glad they're here though because I can't count :B
The plan for now is that we're going to connect the Fusion Reactor to Matter Fabricators and to another Fusion Reactor which we'll put down next episode hopefully. The second Fusion Reactor will produce iridium for us.

Time to build us a factory for the upcoming Fusion Reactor. We're just having fun in chat while doing what we do on the HappyDiggers FTB server.
This episode was more or less recorded by accident. And despite what I say at the end, I went from 2 hours of video to ~21 minutes. Can you imagine what the uncut version would be like?

Short update on our plans for the future: we want to build a giant killing machine powered by a Fusion Reactor.

We go to Twilight to fight the Hydra I trapped inside a quarry. Then it's time to visit the Lich King inside his castle which proves to be more difficult then we had anticipated...
Luckily the day ends with the prospect of unlimited free pork chops.

We're building an Endermen farm with a tier 5 Soul Shard. During testing a ton of them were spawned but survived the drop, so I went down with my Vajra and GraviChestPlate to clean things up.
Later Dom makes a mess of things upstairs when he accidently puts stuff in the induction furnace that's connected to something else. Sverf and I watch as he scrambles to correct his booboo

Today we finish building our Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panels which will give our machines some much needed EU. Also I put down a 64x64 Quarry right on top of a Hydra in Twilight.
The quarry took over 10 hours to dig it's way down to bedrock taking the Hydra with it. A time laps of this process is played back at 120 x speed.

I've put a 64x64 Quarry on top of a Hydra in Twilight and recorded as it dug a hole all the way down to bedrock. The whole process took a little over 10 hours. What you see is being played back at 120 x speed.
Interesting thing to note is that the Hydra seems to repel the water flowing into the quarry.

Mupje is doing awesome things with bees. I'm not quite sure how they all work, just that even the strongest armer in the game is useless against the wrath of Mupje's killer bees
This episode I help her setup her machines outside near the apiaries and hook up the alvearies to some Aqueous Accumulators to supply them with water to increase humidity. They also get connected to house's power grid through the use of an energy tesseract to help heat them up. There's way more to bees then meets the eye.

Hilarious conversations take place between Dom, wordie, Sverf, Mupje and myself as I struggle to make a Fusion Reactor while having the attention span of a goldfish due to sleep deprivation. It's a wonderful mess :-)

A quick tour around the house showing you guys what we've been up to. The tree farm has been updated and connected to a bio-fuel making contraption which powers industrial steam engines which help power all the machines we've got running.
Meanwhile dom has been busy in the nether making a blaze farm. In this video we'll add blaze spawners to the farm.

Power has run out! Our nether pump has emptied the lava lake and now we're back in the dark ages again. Well almost anyway. Time to move the pump to a new location and get power flowing again because we need it to power our quarries in Twilight.
