Hi guys, I made a few posts a couple weeks ago regarding laptops that I was looking at getting. I still haven't got a new one, and I think I have found a good laptop that would hopefully run Minecraft and other games pretty well. People on my Minecraft server told me that NVIDIA graphics cards are better than AMD ones, and this laptop has a NVIDIA one.
This laptop will cost about $674, so I think this is a pretty good deal.
Do you guys think that this will be a good laptop for schoolwork and some casual gaming such as Minecraft? What kind of FPS could I expect with this laptop? Thanks!
You'd get well over 150 FPS on Minecraft Maxed out..
Pretty good, but the 2nd gen is worrying me... There's so much wasted potential in them, intel locks them down so the are always underclocked. You have to buy a special "unlocking code" for 50$ if you want more.
The 2nd Gen i5 can overclock itself when it's under heavy load.. I believe it's up to 2.9GHz..
If anyone cares at all, the Lag Spike of Death Fix's "fd.class" conflicts with I think this ShockAhPir5's "fd.class" causing you not being able to make Portals to the Aether.. The water just spills and flows like normal D:
yeah i upgraded from the crappiest toshiba laptop in the world. they specified this as a gaming notebook, they should atleast tell us we have to mess around with stuff to increase performance this dramatically

Found a solution. Quite interesting really, appereantly i gotta right click and start it as high performance. I have a steady 500 fps :biggrin.gif:

Seems like every who gets a new Laptop with NVidia GPU has that problem..
Try Game-booster, a third party software that is supposed to improve fps. (I am not spamming or advertising) It works for me. Also try using a custom launcher. (Look it up on the forums.)
If none of these work, re-install minecraft.
GameBooster only releases RAM. Minecraft doesn't need any more than 1GB.. He has 4GBs.. He wouldn't need Crapbooster.

Modloader > Zombes > TooManyItems
And delete META-INF.. Even though not deleting it will just give you black screen, and you probably know to delete it.. Just a reminder..

Access is Denied.. Means your not Admin.. So, double-check that your Admin.

Then Completely re-install your Mods using MCPatcher..
It'll detect which .class files conflict with each other before you patch the game..
