    These buildings are AMAZING!!!

    You seriously doubt yourself?
Thanks! But yeah, I've recently payed alot of attention to GattacaAE. He has been very inactive on his channel as of recently, but his videos are very helpful when it comes to building ANYTHING. His process is more complicated than I imagined, but his builds always turn out amazing. :)

I'm probably going to start using his techniques... possibly. I'm sure it will help me and others make the perfect Minecraft buildings, even though it is somewhat complicated.

These houses are awesome! I suggest you use the "bland" colors of block, like white wool and birch wood blocks. These are calm colors, hence giving a minimalistic "feel". I suggest too, the you use at least just three colors. Take the last house for example, too many colors distracted me from the house itself (I believe that what makes a house "modern" is it's shape) so emphasizing on shape and simplicity would pop that "modern feel" out! Even changing the texture pack would make a great impact on these builds!
Thanks, I'm working on another build right now, hopefully it turns out well. :)

No, I wouldn't compare myself to a real life architect. But thanks for the compliment. :)
I'm seeing that everyone likes the wool building alot.... I will be using that one when I apply the second time around. I'm going to post a few pictures of a currently unfinished "modern structure" that will possibly be my 2nd build in my application onto the OP. It is more simple than I'm used to, but apparently (I hope) it properly uses a style called "Minimalism". :D

They are pretty good. My favorite, of the three, would be the wool, my least favorite the wood. One thing I would like to say is, on the wood house, the stripe of stone bricks doesn't seem to tie in anywhere, and it seems out of place. The wool house has both horizontal and vertical stripes, which tie the house together, in a sense.
    I agree. I appreciate the feedback! :D

Ah. I see. Well, I know nothing of that, but I know, although they are good, there is always room for improvement.

I would personally use more variation and curves with it.

Also, another good youtuber (which you probably watch too) is VinatgeBeef, for modern builds. :)
I watch him as well. Very nice builder, his Private Island modern home is very cleverly designed.

They're some fairly nice places. I think you could've used variations in the wood for the wood house. The wool house was my favorite.
Thanks! Yeah, the wood house was kind of plain, but it was my first large modern house I created and finished and furnished. The wool house was my second attempt, using more curves and elevation differences. :)

Good enough for who? They only have to be good enough for yourself.

But anyway, they look pretty good. Watching youtube videos (such as BdoubleO) get me into the building mood... although he doesn't build modern.
Indeed, I watch BdoubleO as well. "Good enough" means good enough to get on World of Keralis. I'll edit that in to the original post though. :D

You know, sometimes even I question myself when I'm building something. I just recently created a few buildings that I and many others would consider "Modern", but I also doubt the buildings. I want to get opinions from the people of the forums, maybe get some tips on how to improve my modern builds. Here are a few pictures:
    Use of wood:
    Use of wools:
    Smaller Houses:
    Added on February 26th:

Please give me feedback. I ask that no one uses these pictures and claims them as their own builds. :)

Just wanted to mention, I not only want feedback on if people like the designs and whatnot I use, I want feedback to see if people think my architecture would be worthy enough to join the World of Keralis server. I'm trying to improve my building skill a bit more so on my 2nd application I am accepted, as I was sadly rejected the first time around. :(

*inhales* Here we go, my amateur musician side talking.

As far as I can remember UKF and AllTrapMusic are both promotional channels. In general they'll promote your musics with no fee. Don't try to confuse these with record labels, however; promoters don't sign you up, they just...well...promote you. Usually promotional channels allow you to send your tracks (note, full ' class='bbc'>unsigned tracks, not demos, as opposed to record labels) via e-mail, Google Docs forms, Soundcloud dropboxes or on their website; on the case above, AllTrapMusic lets you upload your track via their Facebook and UKF by e-mail. Here's a WIP list of promoters so far.
I couldn't explain this any simpler, but here goes:
There are 5 main windows you need to familiarize yourself on this DAW: Playlist, where you put all of your drums, synths, etc....in basics this is where you put your song arrangements; Browser, the window on the left where it's kind of self-explanatory; Piano Roll, a window with a layout of a piano keyboard, used to lay out your melodies or slices or whatever; Mixer, where you do all of your EQs, mixdowns and FXes; and lastly, Step Sequencer, the much more simpler version of Piano Roll, usually for drum rhythms. There are also 3 kinds of things in the Playlist: Audio clips, automations and patterns. Audio clips are pretty self-explanatory, to get them drag a sample from the Browser; automations are added by right-clicking on a knob or anything that you want to automate to and tweak up the settings (for example when building up a synth with a lowpass) via the dots; and patterns, the core of everything--synths (via Piano Roll), drums, pads, etc. I'm pretty sure other DAWs work the same like that.
There are a lot of 101 videos out there, and it's worth to check a few of them.
Start from zero, of course. I really hope that, by asking this, you have a basic understanding of how music works; note values, intervals, etc.
There are terms that you're going to meet while working on musics, like squarewave/saw, VSTis (like Sytrus, Harmor, etc.), ring/frequency modulation, additive/subtractive synths, mastering, stereo imaging, etc., but that comes another story.
That is a lot of info. Thanks Sgt! :D

I have no clue what DAW's are or EQ's, but I'm sure I'll figure out in one of those 101 videos you mentioned. :)

posted a message on What do you want Mojang to add in 1.5.1?
    Quote from Kholdstare

An aesthetic update sounds unlikely as we just had the Pretty Scary update. A mob update is more likely.
The Pretty Scary update did not add all that much Aesthetic wise, more so Scary wise. All that I can recall from that update was item frames, corner stairs, and flower pots.

Also, I don't think the update will just be a mob update, it will just contain new mobs. In all truth, I hope 1.6 turns into a "All over the place" update, because all aspects of the game require touching up, and everyone wants different things. Some people want new terrain features, aesthetics, mobs, equipment, etc., and it'd be best to fit that all into one large update instead of holding something off for another 2-3 months. That way, Mojang can satisfy more people.

New blocks are probably trivial to add, yet these would improve the building aspect of the game quite a bit.
Edit: Yes, the building aspect is already superb, but really. TRIVIAL. Could probably be done in an hour or two.
I agree. The building aspect is great as is, but more blocks for more customization is always a good thing. I sure do hope Mojang one day very soon decides to make an update for blocks. Just a crazy ton of new blocks to build with. An Aesthetic Update, as many people have wanted.

Back on topic, what I think I want to be added before the 1.5 wrap up is the finished new lighting engine, with colored lights and glass, similar to that popular Suggestions thread.

    Ocean dimension for it maybe?
Naw, just maybe a temple that spawns in the ocean. Or maybe a special underwater cavern to fight it in. OR it just spawns randomly, yet rarely. A Krakken would be a fun fight for sure, I hope they consider adding it, or at least SOME type of water related boss mob.

OK, so I love music. More so hip hop, trap, dubstep, and any genres that are similar to those. So, due to my love of music, I figured that one day I'll buy FL Studios and give it a try, and start producing my own unique music. But here's my problem.

I understand much less about music then I realized. What is a synth? Samples? Loops? Difference between remixed and remastered? What is a record? A label? A deal? An EP? How do you join places like UKF or alltrapmusic? How do you work such complicated programs like FL Studios?

Basically, I'm asking how do I begin making music, and understanding the programs and different terms? Please respond with helpful feedback. :D

Are you using malwarebytes? And do you have norton/mcafee? Because if you have either of those, that might be the problem.
I wish I knew what malwarebytes were. Also, we currently do not have Norton from what I know.
