I'm not all that familiar with painterly, so i'm not entirely sure where the credit to Rhodox comes in, but if you're using his textures, you need permission.
I'm currently making a texture pack, and would like some feedback on the few textures I have. The pack is very bright and cheery, and has a star theme of sorts. Constructive criticism would be very much appreciated.
Wooden planks/grass.
Tree. (Ignore the logs, they suck and i'm throwing them out as soon as I come up with a better texture.)
Cave, the black blocks are gravel, and the black/brown stone blocks are ores.
The song analogy doesn't work because not all songs sound almost the exact same, whereas most simple packs do.
The problem with trying to give constructive criticism to simple packs is that there's not much to say other than "there are a million of these, change the style entirely." However, i'll try. Add a pattern or something beyond the one color and outline, because that's been done before.
It's not the name. It's the fact that the "simple" concept has been done literally hundreds of times. This one looks slightly better than most because at least there's a pattern, but still...
I remember you saying you used simplecraft as a base. Is there a reason you didn't credit them for that?
Also, this is for sure a repost. I remember the old thread, which got pretty ugly.
This is really ugly. I'm sorry. The colors are just repulsive.
I use paint.net
Me too.
You may have heard people talking about paint being bad. They mean MS Paint. Paint.net is a good program. I'm not sure if you're using the fact that you use Paint.net as an excuse, but it has enough features to make a good pack.
I can see how this might take 2 weeks if you have never used the program before.
By the way, thanks for not making a simple pack, at least you tried harder than that.
This needs a sticky. Way too many people believe simple packs help with lag. Then again I was just in a thread where you linked to this topic and TC said he and his brother thought they got better FPS using his pack and that was "enough evidence" to prove you wrong, so i'm not sure it would help much if people are that ignorant.
For future reference, to resize an image, click "Image", then "Resize". Type in the image size you want (for 64x this would be 1024x1024) and select nearest neighbor sampling.
I LOVE YOUR GRASS! It tiles perfectly and isn't all flat and boring like a lot of packs I see. Dirt is nice and chunky and also tiles perfectly. However is it just me or is there a very minor tiling issue with the stone on the left side? It might just be because of how oversensitive I am to tiling issues though.
Considering you mostly just used the paint bucket tool and random neon colors, there is no excuse for this to be only about 10% done. Also it hurts my eyes.

Dirt, stone and sand. The basics.

How is the title misleading? It's a pack based off Kirby's dreamland.
