Been waiting a long time for this mod. However I have run into a problem where my loading screen pops up gray with these weird white bars. There are no options or ways of entering a game, it's like a failed load but the game doesn't crash or provide a crash report :/

When is this mod gonna update

the better question, which I already asked, was not when but if there were plans for the mod to be updated. If you checked other mods you would probably have seen that updating from 1.7 to 1.8 is a massive task, according to the modders, so much so that some simpler mods are dead, such as Balkon's weapon mod. I have no knowledge of java or how intense modding is so I only have their collective word to go off of. More to the point, it would be more curious to ask if there are plans of updating rather than when it will update. No less it is just as Moridinlshamael said, all we can do is be patient.

Hey, defiantly not being ignorant and asking *when* this mod is coming to 1.8 but I am wondering if anyone knows *if* this mod is coming to 1.8. I loved this mod in 1.7 and like the features of 1.8 but I also know the transition to 1.8 has been a royal pain for many modders and some of my favorite mods (Balkon's weapon mod is dead). So I'm just wondering if there are plans to update to 1.8.

it's 1.7.4 and I'm wondering if the armor bug may include having no effect at all. In full Iron, on normal, I was killed by 2 skeletons after being hit with only a couple of arrows. I may as well have not been wearing the armor at all.

Great program, really helps mapping out optimal worlds to minimize the now massive amount of time needed to explore the even more massive world.

One problem I have found thus far, it says it locates villages, I am yet to find any villages anywhere near the coordinates given for villages on 4 different maps (checking a handful of villages each time)

It would be cool that the range of detection increases with the difficulty. The current range could be uses for Normal difficulty and a little bit more (not 80 blocks) for hard.

Agreed, however I don't see how they could practically implement this.

I am not fraid of any monsters, but fighting them is not the main interest. For me the fascinating aspect in the game is the creativity. I constructed a town with maybe three dozen of houses, some smaller, some larger. And I settled some villagers. When the zombie terror rises some while ago and they attack in hordes every night, the zombies broke quite often the wooden doors, even on easy mode. So, I changed to play on peaceful.

Now I gave it a new try. My impression:
    - Zombies still attack in masses
    - Zombies can infect though closed doors (happened every night) and will then survive the day, because they are trapped inside
    - Zombie babys can jump through single open blocks, so make sure to have panes in every window
    - Villagers often leave the buildings in the morning before the zombies are burned in sunlight
    - Zombies survive on rainy days, but villagers run around outside

I tried it several times: Within two or three nights all villagers in the town are killed (or turned into zombies inside buildings). Sorry, that's no fun. I have to play on peaceful, when being near my town.
    :-(

Dang it, so that's how one village I found was nearly whipped out. on normal I find that zombies are not busting down doors so I was surprised to see a full town reduced to nothingness lol. I thought they fixed hitting things through doors, then again the villagers do pack themselves in those buildings pretty tight so it might be the villagers' fault and not the zombies.

Their detection range still can NOT be adjusted by difficulty setting. That's one of the most annoying part.

too be honest though the zombie range is very reduced. although I have noticed that 3 zoms spawned in a couple of times upon being spotted, I am yet to face a group larger than while playing on normal. I think the spawn may be a bug or a really rare chance, but it hasn't been so bs that I flip the coffee table. as for the range it self, I kinda like it, it makes no sense, but I kinda like it. One would think that zombies who have decayed to the point of turning green would, you know, experience some sort of sensory loss rather than acquiring miraculous hunting skills, lol.

The default button for Screenshots is F2. It creates a sub-folder in your Minecraft-folder and saves the pcs as .png ...

well ya, I know that much, lol. my issue is how to post them to here.

Lastest patch is 1.7.2, why you talking about 1.6 ???

Yeas, its a feature for halloween i believe.

Because endercreeper was saying they lowered the detection radius in 1.6, which is absurdly not true

Detecion rate was lowered before the actual 1.6 release. People just kept complaining about it throughout the entire update.

I tested it ad found that in the latest 1.6 patch zombies aggroed at 80 blocks, no line of sight required, would call "reinforcements" from all over the world, and would spawn a crazy amount of zombies all withing a short period of time. so no, it wasn't lowered. you cannot lower something from 40 to 80, it is math. If anything the change log was either misleading or incorrect.
    Quote from Zeno410

If the goal is to make nights tougher and scarier I would WAY prefer having witches show up rather than zombie swarms. More dangerous and more interesting. Even better if the pack spawning includes a variety of monsters rather than just zombies. 6 zombies, if you've got good equipment, is "good grief, more zombies, whackwhackwhack". 4 zombies, a skeleton, and a witch is "HOLY ****!"

actually I have found witches wandering the wilderness. it was in extreme hills of all places, no swamps nearby. oooooo i avoided them but next time i'll take a screen shot and post it, if i can figure out how to do that much.

Perhaps this is just me, but I recently updated my minecraft to see the 1.7.2 update and check on the zombie problem and I have found, thus far that it seems dinnerbones heard us. I play on normal, and have been playing on normal with the new update. Thus far I have found that zombies don't come out of the wood works to try and kill me, in fact I have seen some in the distance and was able to simply avoid them all together. In combat, hitting one doesn't spawn an army nor does it alert every zombie in imagination to come and kill you. If zombies are spawning more zombies, so far, I have found that it is very rarely and not crazy. I have found that zombies do have an extended aggro range and do aggro other zombies when attacked, but nothing crazy. so far the biggest swarm I have encountered is 5 zombies. So perhaps the 1.6 zombies were a mistake (having 80 block range independent of LOS) or Dinnerbones actually listened to us here on the forums, I know I was one who gripped. To be honest, as they are now, based on my first impression, the changes are actually kinda fun and a welcome addition adding minor challenge but nothing extreme, annoying, or tedious. Also a side note, it seems that skeletons have also had their knockback toned down a bit too, confirmation?

How about adding new mobs that are meant to be more challenging, seems like the smart thing to do. Btw, for anyone having problems with zombies, remember, their aggro range was not increased to 40 blocks, it was upped to 80 blocks and is independent of line of sight. in other words, zombies hunt you down from obseen distances, seeking you like the cheese in a rat maze.
