Hmm... I looked in system information to confirm and yes I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, but my system type is x64-based PC. Maybe I just need to re-install java 64-bit, or un-install 32-bit. The reason I have 32-bit java is because of chrome and I've had trouble with this 32/64-bit nonsense before.
Well I tried MultiMC, created a new instance and ran it, but got this error:
------------- MultiMC Crash Report -------------
Information:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
Minecraft exited with code 1.
Minecraft has crashed!
I've also tried running the Feed the Beast modpack (which is what I was trying to do in the first place) and the same thing happens as when I open minecraft.exe.
Anyway thanks for the quick reply
EDIT: Okay so when I said I tried running the FTB Modpack I was using the FTB_Launcher.exe. I instead downloaded the .jar version and now minecraft is running fine with all the mods installed. I'm guessing vanilla minecraft would work if I downloaded the .jar, but I'm content with FTB for now. I guess my problem is solved.
Hello there - need some help with starting up Minecraft. Apparently when I open the minecraft.exe (even as administrator) nothing happens. The loading mouse icon appears for a brief second then disappears. I tried using theFriedZombie's advanced minecraft error test and it opened minecraft fine without any problems. This is the error report:

One thing I did notice is that it says I'm using Java 32-bit. I checked my java folder and the jre7x32 is empty, so I'm not sure why the error test is using 32-bit. Anyway I'm using an unmodified version of minecraft and any help would be appreciated
I agree with having water in the nether just for the fact it gives plenty more options to do in-game (mob farms and such < NOT the only thing though) with as little trouble as changing a bit of code. Silk Touch is hard to get, which makes getting water into the nether a legitimate challenge. The only thing I'm concerned with is the infinite amounts of obsidian right at your portal-step. Maybe lava in the nether should turn into cobblestone - when in contact with water - instead of obsidian. Its still a great idea though, and would be interesting to see in the game =)
Well sometimes when a skeleton shoots something, then it attacks back, so that would happen. I don't know a whole lot of modding, but I guess you would have to make the mob react to other mobs as if a normal one does to the player. So make the, say, skeleton, react to the other mobs as the monsters normally react to the player, attack. That's my opinion.
I'm new to coding, but from looking through the entity files it seems that entity player has it's own strings/methods pre-coded all the way from Entity.java. That would mean a lot of new Entity files to make. Correct me if I'm wrong :s
Hi, just wandering if there is a way to make a mob attack another creature, but only that mob. For example, a skeleton would shoot other mobs, but would be the only mob that would attack other mobs first. I think it has something to do with creating a new EntityMob file (e.g. call it EntityMob1). Then you extend that from the existing EntityCreature file but modify it in your own way to attack other mobs. So that in the EntitySkeleton file you can extend it from the new EntityMob1 file so that it attacks other mobs. Sorry it if it sounds confusing, but any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: What I don't want is all the mobs attacking each other...
Hey, thought I'd better mention it, there are rules for formatting post titles on this board, you need to fix your title or a mod will lock this thread up :smile.gif:
For what it's worth, I think explosions on death is an incredibly bad idea, you would end up totally destroying your map with random craters everywhere. Just one random dudes opinion on the internet though :wink.gif:
Thats why I put another download option up. Btw thanks for the tip, I'll change it
Before you say anything, I know that there's a mod like this one by iPeer, but it's not SMP. This mod supports SMP!
Burning Creepers (1.8.1)
Pretty self explanatory, this mod makes creepers burn in daylight.
This is my first mod so hope you like it. It was really easy to make - just a simple matter of copy and pasting code. I guess the reason I made this mod is also self explanatory...
someone please help me. ive followed all the directions, used the site to find the proper chunk, added the mod just to double check the area to see if slimes will spawn, lit up me entire 16x16 room, and still no slimes spawn in there! what gives? im attaching a screenshot of my slime farm in progress.
please help me, either reply here or email me here
Have you seen the slimeball farm tutorial on youtube? Because in it it says that torches will just take up space for the slimes to spawn in, plus you need to find any other areas that a mob could spawn inside that "slime" chunk. Also if that doesn't work try walking about 60 blocks away then wait, then go back and check if they have spawned. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the great tuts!
EDIT: Also I was wondering in the ModLoader.addRecipe function, what are the symbols (e.g ### = redstone) for netherrack and a lava bucket?
EDIT: FIXED!

okay, sure, but do you want a countdown to the explosion or something?

EDIT: Maybe when it is set on fire a timer counts down, say 10-20 seconds, then it explodes?
