In the first place, why do you mean when you said you changed to Creative because everyone was killing each other in Survival? If you are op, you can disable PvP.
Lighting up the area such that the light level exceeds BL=12 will prevent snow and ice from forming, though you need to use either /toggledownfall or /weather clear <seconds> to remove the snowing.
AMP kills many computers. To be serious the structures in AMP look really awkward and bad and if it is to be successful there is a hell of adjustments needed to be made.
Spiders have already been made rather versatile with status effects at hard difficulty ranging from speed to jump boost to invisibility. I think it is unwise to focus too much on one mob. And in the first place, your suggestion may make spiders OP. Leave the spiders alone.
I'm pretty sure that zombies won't cause other zombies to spawn simply by tracking villagers. Besides, no hostile mobs can spawn anywhere in mushroom biomes under normal circumstances. The only thing I can think of is that there was a zombie dungeon in a cave very close to the surface, because dungeon spawners still work in mushroom biomes. It's possible you're right, and this was a zombie siege, but I thought that the mushroom biome would block it. How close is your mushroom biome to any other biomes? The zombies might have been able to swim across. Also, how many villagers and doors did you have beforehand? the wiki says A zombie siege requires a village of at least 10 houses and at least 20 villagers
Hostile mobs cannot spawn anywhere in the mushroom biome. The only chances are that they cross a biome or they spawn from underground dungeons. However, sieges completely overwrites this: So long your village is xxx size, there is a chance that sieges will start regardless of whether your village is in a mushroom biome or above the Nether.
One problem about the current terrain generator is that when you find a savanna, it will take 12 more hours to find a ice spikes biome without crossing the ocean.
Zombies don't actually cause problems. They are just annoying entities that lack your computer. There has been so many attempts to make them tougher but they still suck. There should be improvements on other mobs, instead of trying to perfect a naturally disadvantaged mob.

I think Minecraft does not need a replacement for slowness potions. It won't be added.
