I like to build in a valley sort of place. A large flat area surrounded by mountains. Makes me feel safe. An good example might be the area around Death Mountain in X's let's play series.

EDIT: On a side note, even though flying houses look cool, its a chore having to leave just to go mine or do anything. plus, I tend to forget to sneak when building, and I always fall off in the middle of the night haha :tongue.gif:
near spawn, with an extension of the base at bedrock where my branch is. currently working on making a huge wall around the three or so above-ground buildings I have. then...lava moat.
For me, picking a username is so hard, every time I register somewhere, I feel like I need the _perfect_ username. Being able to change it for minecraft would really be awesome.
