The server should be up within 24 hours, as all the files are loaded on to the new server. Just a few tweaks still have to be made! The new IP will be posted after everything is verified working.
Well it's good to know that Keystone is coming back, but is the ip still going to be the same??
No, the server will be coming back as EternalPhoenix, so we won't use the same address. Feel free to check out the Creative map if you want, at c.eternalphoenix.me!
Since it's a survival server, I'd make them work for it. No point in making your players think that you favor some over others. Giving an unfair advantage to anybody who has just joined is a recipe for disaster.
My craftbukkit file is currently named: craftbukkit-1.4.6-R0.2-20121222.182654-3.jar
Are you saying I should change it just to craftbukkit.jar? It worked fine yesterday.
Yes, you'll have to change the filename to craftbukkit.jar, or the server will not run. Run.bat runs a specific file, craftbukkit.jar. In your case, it's not finding the file because it's got a different name.
Hi,
Well, yesterday I started running a Hamachi server. It's Bukkit, so for it to be up I use the run.bat rather than the Minecraft_Server. It was working fine until late into yesterday. Though the run.bat was up, nobody could connect. I restarted the run.bat, and restarted my computer. Nothing happened. I closed the run.bat and let it sit overnight. This morning, I open it up and the server is still down. I've tried deleting the run.bat and making a new one, but it doesn't work. When I open up Minecraft_Server to run it, the server goes up. But because it's Minecraft_Server not run.bat, none of the plugins are installed.
Recently before it went down (though nobody was actually online at the time) I was trying to install Citizens and LWC. LWC wouldn't work, Citizens would come up in /help but actually using a command did nothing. Are these linked? Is there a limit to the amount of plugins you can have? I have:
EssentialsGroupManager
Essentials
EssentialsSpawn
Factions
WorldEdit
Citizens
LWC
And a couple more essentials that are like LWC. Plus I still want to add an anti-lag and an anti-cheat.
I can give more info upon request. Thanks!
If you're hosting the server on your home computer, please try connecting to it locally. That way we can verify whether or not the problem is with the server software, or Hamachi. You can connect to the server locally by entering the local IP of the server on your network. If you are hosting the server on the same computer that you use to play MC, simply connect to "localhost" in the Multiplayer IP connect field. Let us know what happens!
I need to find some people who will post a tutorial on how to install plugins and what plugin they recommend me to us to protect my server and if any one wants to join and help me build the server up before it goes completely public post your in game name and what your building and redstone skill is from 1-10
I'll assume that you're running a bukkit server. In that case, it's very easy to install plugins! Just follow these simple steps:
1. Find a plugin that you wish to download. Sometimes, you'll download a .jar file, other times, a .zip file with a .jar file inside.
2. If the file that you download is a .jar file, simply drag and drop it into the "plugins" folder in your server directory, and start the server to generate the plugin files. If you download a .zip file, simply extract the .zip file to your downloads folder or the folder of your choice, and drag and drop the .jar into your plugins folder. Starting the server will generate the necessary configuration files for the server.
3. Configure the plugin by editing the configuration file in the folder: server/plugins/pluginname/ You may find helpful information on plugin configuration in the plugin's documentation, which is usually found somewhere on the bukkitdev page. If you can't find any documentation, just Google it, and you should be fine. If you still can't find any documentation, just post on the Minecraft (or Bukkit) forums asking for help.
If you have any other questions, you can PM or email me. If you need help setting up a Bukkit server, you can follow this tutorial: http://wiki.bukkit.org/Setting_up_a_server
I had a request for a simple mod that would block out spam. I know that the Nodus hacking client already has this feature, but I really don't want to use Nodus. The mod would simply change messages like this:
The mod shouldn't be too hard to create, I don't think, because what it does is fairly simple. If there's already something like this, please let me know! Otherwise, could one of you great modders please come up with something like this? Thanks!
Perhaps to increase downloads, it could be a sort of client-side spam prevention pack. A mod with only one feature wouldn't be so appealing to most folks.
Try killing all java processes on your computer. On Windows, this can be accomplished by opening Task Manager and ending any process named "java.exe". On *nix you can usually do something like
ps -A | more
To see if java is running, and then you can try killing it with
As you may know, I've been working on a continuation server for Keystone! While I work on the server, I thought I'd put up the old map so that you guys can once again view your awesome builds. You can think of the server for the moment as a Keystone museum server. After a week or two, the map will be reset and a new server will launch, to continue the legacy of both Keystone and Raddafiskie. A survival server will launch soon after the creative one, and will be keeping the old survival map (That is, the survival map that was in use just before Keystone shut down).
For the time being, while the old map is up on creative, you won't be able to build, but you will be able to see all of your old builds. For now, users can do the following:
Warp to warps
Use /home to get home
Fly around with flymod, or /fly
Plus some other basic commands like /msg and /spawn.
Please note that players will have a lot more abilities at the actual launch of the server. These are all just very basic temporary permissions.
All users will keep their ranks on this new server, and all donors will receive an extra month of donor abilities after the map resets.
Again, this is a temporary map and you won't be able to build. After the map reset, that will all change and you'll be able to build to your heart's content.

Just so you all know, work on the new server is coming along nicely! You'll all be able to pick up where you left off on survival, and you'll all get to properly say goodbye to the creative map, before creative resets and starts anew.
Keep an eye on this page, so that you'll be able to connect to the new server when the time comes!
You can take my comment how you will, but there was absolutely no indication of 'Ha I told you so!' Told you what? Not once have I said in this whole dispute any ill will towards the server. Not once. Yes, yes it is an absolute shame for us who started it, need you all forget why we started it? The same exact situation fell on Radda, so to have a near exact mincing fall come to KS, yes that is a -shame-. How seemingly out of the blue a server we grew with shut down without any warming, that's a shame. I see what grudges still hold have not been let go for you to twist my simple statement quickly noted before leaving to work.
This is my last remark on it, as with Radda, what's done is done and people move on to bigger and better things, still a Shame it even had to come to this.
You seem to love using the word "Shame" sarcastically.

Keep in mind that this is only a temp map while I work on the real server There should be a lot more people after the official launch.

Work has been delayed by about three days, because I've been studying for exams. I'm thinking that we'll release sometime in the next few weeks!

It will launch after I launch the creative server.
