I have been trying to set up a minecraft server and have run into a problem. I start up the server using my bat file, startup is fine. I can log into my server using localhost but when I test it by adding a new server and adding my external IP, I get the error Internal Exception:
io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException
I did the following:
1.downloaded most recent server from site 2. put it in its own folder 3. ran it 4. opened the eula and changed to true 5. changed environment variables path to java folder(i have 2 versions on my pc, 1 in program files x86 one in regular, so I set my path to the x86 which has java 7) 6. created a bat file to minimize memory usage 7. set up port forwarding, using my ip4v address, and used ipchicken to get my external IP.
