The Moon Snare Ritual looks like an extended Swastika... Change that and I'm happy
The swastika has been a symbol in many mythos before the Nazi's got a hold of it - also realize there's no such thing as an "extended" swastika - I was going for something that looks like a vortex... naturally I'm a little limited by the fact everything is square

Ok, I willout right say I didnt read t seemslike way too much. if you want a minecrafty way to add something make it non-invasive. make it exceptionally original, simple, and most importantly lame. yes you heard me right. lame. Make it something useful, and possibly interesting, but not fancy or epic. make it something underrated so then people can BUILD on it using their own ideas.
if you broke it down to the four elements, and then threw in some way that each can be better used then it'd be awesome. ex. air works better higher up. then people would use air when they are up high, and earth down low.
Honestly IDK. I;m just saying all these big ideas often are so cool and yours is too that it's not minecrat anymore. It's some awesome idea that would over take everything else in the game. with all the cool stuff you have I'd never bother with anything else after magic. it's too end game, and thats jsut it. all cool stuff ends up end game. I swear I love the idea, but for MC I just can't see it working out in a way that would end positively for everyone.
This is intended to be endgame-ish - the ritual itself makes that evident since it includes a full lightstone block, but I don't really see what's wrong with having "endgame" content, especially since we already have "The End". Magic makes things easier, but isn't a free ticket to do everything you want. This magic slowly destroys the very world you live in by sapping it of the energies that make it work - this is not something a player could easily abuse, especially given that gold and redstone are also both limited resources. There are also many things that are really just aesthetic in their purpose, and, when I think of "endgame" for a game where you build things, the pure aesthetics are the endgame. For example, you don't need to make a castle out of pure iron blocks, but that's an endgame feat - and this idea is meant to facilitate that kind of thing.
Jan 8, 2012This has got nothing on the mini computers people make in minecraft...Posted in: Suggestions
but thinking about it, this would certainly make the mini computers able to do some awesome stuff.

this is amazing, I want it to be a mod... and I'd like to tell you what the least controllable and most powerful elements are, they are opposite:
TIME AND SPACE
I thought it was obvious.
Time and space are not opposites silly - they're actually so entirely intertwined we often refer to something called "time-space" as a unit of measurement. It's why things get all wonky when you start approaching the speed of light or when you make a giant gravity well like a black hole. Bending time-space is the only way we can theoretically get faster than light travel.

no. Minecraft =/= magic, no matter how much text you have.
its pointless, ruins the idea of the game and takes away (no matter what you say) the feel of minecraft.
yes, because endermen, the nether, enchantments... all that's clearly not magic. Not only is it not magic it is NOT blatant pew pew magic that has no rhyme or reason behind it. This idea is clearly inferior and stupid because it talks about an elementally based science more akin to archaic alchemy than to deus ex machina style magic.
Maybe you should look at the game you play, and bother to read the idea, before you type next time.
Nov 27, 2011It's really, really hard to make something be perpetually scary - not to mention trying to make something scary to someone else' taste. It's really easy to make them deadlier (without boosting their damage or attack rate or anything cheap like that), it's really easy to make them alot more annoying for the player to deal with, etc. But scary... it's too subjective.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Right now I've had them make me **** my pants a few times, but it's worn off because I'm adjusted to their behaviors.
Constantly teleporting behind you would be nothing but a cheap tactic, and they do it enough as is.
The scariest times I've had with endermen though, and when they're their deadliest, has always been when there are more than one. So the best suggestion I have is to turn them into pack animals. Always generate them in 3-6 endermen packs (weighted towards 3 since 6 would probably rip you apart in mere moments). When you look at one, suddenly every single one of that enderman's "pack" will glare at you menacingly and stand still, the moment you move your eyes they begin their attack patterns as usual.
Another fun idea is to actually have them teleport you into some random subterranean room at the beginning of the fight so they can get you alone in the dark, seeing nothing but the purple eyes. (if this is too complicated, you could actually have THAT be the effect, only being able to see their eyes, and being blinded to the rest of the environment).
Nov 26, 2011Hypevosa posted a message on What is the Stupidest thing you have ever heard about a video game?Videogames make you kill people. I mean, it's clearly games that cause violence, not violent people with implements they can cause damage with.Posted in: General Gaming
Nov 23, 2011I'm sure most of us have had fun dicking around with the seed function in minecraft - entering weird and funny words to see what happens with the seed generator... but have you ever tried your own name?Posted in: Seeds
I challenge you to enter your own name, either your forum name or your real life name, into the seed generator for 1.0 and play your map on hardcore. No cartographer to find you dungeons and diamonds, no invedit to give you items, just 100% vanilla hardcore (ignoring texture packs and the like) and see if you can beat yourself.
Starting situation: A hill of smooth stone in a pine forest biome - I'm surrounded by wolves and there's some coal right in front of me. Well, I'll have some friends and I'll be warm for at least the first day.
Try number: 1

What do you mean by gold dispensers? (how are they different from the gold blocks with redstone activation I described?)

how would you take the slimeballs off if you wanted too? but i still like the idea.
I'd assume by hitting them, much like we do with anything else that's a surface we no longer want.
Nov 3, 2011game is always out to get you, it's just more noticeable when you actually have something to lose. I've had plenty of times where I was literally just standing around with sand or gravel in my inventory and BOOM creeper... actually it happened like 4 times... in a row... It was utterly ridiculous.Posted in: Survival Mode
Oct 22, 2011since when could we get saints row 3 for a buck? you can only get games that are ALREADY OUT for a dollar, silly.Posted in: General Gaming
personally, I love saints row. Use the 1 dollar for a more expensive game though, something recent. If you mean DX:HR, go for it, or LA Noire.

Jul 26, 2011My guess is that they dismantle environmental blocks, meaning not ones a real house should be made of. So if a player is trying to create a makeshift shelter out of dirt and sand blocks, it won't work anymore. It would be cruel if they could actually dismantle blocks one would appropriately make a house with, like wood or stone.Posted in: News
