Irony is that Microsoft OWN Minecraft so how on earth cannot they touch it? those responsible for the update are Microsoft whether you like it or not.

Having gone through your posts and I find them rather apologetic of the mess that 9 is, call me cynical but it is almost as if you were on the payroll...

"Also, the sounds are liked by the majority of us here"

Majority of you who are into PvP that is. Everyone else (the creative lot) hates it.

Heh. That's hilariously false. Just read the posts above me, they are all true. Basically sum this whole situation up. And no, I never apologized for 1.9. I would just like to make sure everyone enjoys 1.9, even the haters.

Don't know where you get your facts from.

I'm 100% in agreement with 007, the update is rubbish and has brought down a few notches Minecraft's gameplay experience. Then again something like this was expected from the moment Microsoft took ownership.

The new sounds are not nice either, I mean a chest closing sound that sound like a wet fart? or them squids which are now mumbling stuff non stop? and the furness?? The only sound change I'm glad about is rain as it is now more like a light shower than a moonsoon.

Maybe for the combat upgrade they should have added a new gameplay mode "Combat" along with Survival and Creative instead having a number 2 on the very, very good creative game that it was.

Sadly, these must have cost a few bundles of dollars in wages and else so i don't have any hopes that they will retract the update, meaning that I will play on 1.8 servers and probably cancel my recently purchased realms subscription. Thank you Minecraft update 1.9 team for destroying single player survival mode.

How ironic. Microsoft hasn't touched Minecraft's coding and hasn't comissioned anyone to do so. All they have done was made MC windows edition and the Hololons. I'm pretty sure you're not against those contributions, right?

Also, the sounds are liked by the majority of us here. And they added more creativity with blocks, mobs, and a new intuitive command block system.

and if they want to keep the game fresh just add new things, dont ruin the core gameplay

It was more of a balancer than a ruiner. You can still spam click. And if you get the haste status effect from a beacon, you can still deal the same damage with your rapid clicks. Also, hoes insta recharge their attacks. The idea behind the change which is not that much of a gap between mob invincibility frames was to make Minecraft's PVP/PVE less thoughtless and more calculated.

The game will change to keep it fresh. Id rather have changes than have no updates and it staying the same.

Good point. Love it or hate it, changes still prevent you from getting bored of the same old stuff. Whenever an update is released, old players return to the game if only for a while.

If you want some 1.9 features in 1.8, I assume Gany is going to continue the trend of including content from the next update in version before mods. You can always wait for Gany assuming Gany didn't already add such features. To add to that these features are exclusively blocks/items/generation. That might solve your problem.

I like where you go with your state. But mines is not like yours.
There are people with different levels, capabilities; Did you know that I mostly die on "normal" difficulty more than on "hard" or "easy" ? That may be different for you, but for me it is just usual.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here, but are you saying normal mode is harder for you than hard mode or you die more on normal mode than hard mode because you play on it more / it just happens that way? Because hard mode has literally no differences other than higher power multipliers for hostile mobs and of course zombies breaking doors.

I agree that people have different levels. Yes, they can in theory be breached with resolve, but sometimes that's just not worth the effort or investment, especially for a video game. I digress. Either way, hard mode is one of the few things I can call objective on, because it has more dangerous odds. And it would be nigh impossible for someone to experience a hard mode playthrough where hard mode mobs accidently kill each other with their higher quicker numbers every time they spawn, the only exception to the objectiveness.

found them difficult to fight against in full iron with a shield, if the update forces me to lower the difficulty then its not a well balanced update for a veteran minecraft player because i have always played on hard, so until they nerf some of the more annoying aspects of mobs im just not gana play on 1.9

So what you're essentially saying is you should not have to play on easy mode for the game to be easy, and hard mode should be easy if you know how to play. I disagree. Hard mode shouldn't get easy just because you know how to play Minecraft. it should remain hard enough to deserve the title "hard mode". What do you think difficulty is about? The harder the difficulty, the harder the mobs are to deal with and the harder it is to survive. As for easy, just the opposite.

Making the game harder doesn't make a big difference on the easier settings but makes a huge difference on the harder settings, giving the game more options. Mojang is doing a good job with difficulty in their updates. Playing the game on a harder diffuclty than easy is supposed to simulate the challenges of survival. Unless you're playing easy, the game was never intended to be easy.

In Episode 4 he said that the enchantment book had the power of a command block, not the power to destroy it in 3 hits

In theory. But it didn't execute a /kill witherstorm. So when it was applied to a tool, at least for a survival mode player, it could not use commands evidently. Also, no weapon or tool in vanilla Minecraft can break a command block. And a command block can't either. Only despawn another one.

And there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, Mojang allows you to play every Minecraft build and modify the game just so you can enjoy an optimal gameplay experience.

I just hope people stop complaining about Minecraft's current direction which the majority likes and start taking advantage of Mojang's customizations.

i think the keyword in your post is TEDIOUS who cares if they are exploitable if im not having fun doing it?

Skeletons are higher level mobs. Until you have adequate gear for them to be easy and not tedious (good bow, shield, wolf), then you would benefit best from running away to safety. Or lowering the difficulty/playing creative.

Skeletons are now like Little Mac in Super Smash Bros. 4. At a glance, they seem overpowered, but they have distinct and easy to exploit weaknesses. Shields are specifically designed to make them manageable. Wolves will automatically pursue them and they'll barely try to fight back. They can quickly become helpless when they don't have a lot of room to move, and fighting multiple skeletons is actually safer than fighting just one, since they'll often end up shooting each other and that leads to mob infighting.

My thoughts exaclty. They are polarized mobs with strengths and weaknesses pushed to extremes, and dangerous if you're not cautious. And like little mac, a "patch" has made them more polarized but still not that good because their weaknesses are just so exploitable. Tedious, but exploitable. And to a large degree exploitable. Emphasis on exploitable.

There are a few workarounds or "advantages" Mojang has given the player over skeletons. Most of which have been before 1.9. As previously mentioned, wolves can mitigate the problem almost entirely. But screw that, wolves are too rare. Let's look at some of the easier ways of fighting them. They are tough to fight admittably, I know. But they were always meant to be the "hardest to fight" of all night mobs.

A direct approach, or "rush", will no longer work against a skeleton. Kinda makes sense that the skeleton would distance itself from the player. If you have a sword and it has a bow, it is intelligent enough to calculate such a simple move. However, you can still rush a skeleton if you are fast enough. Horses are a good mean of doing this, and shields are even better.

Shields can block the damage almost entirely if you position them correctly. I mean, they seriously are better than swords were at blocking defense wise and don't slow you down. So that alone will allow a rush approach.

Of course, there are other means of fighting a skeleton than rushing, The intended means. Most of which involve zoning the skeletons and killing them. Here are a few ways:

    1. Bows

    2. Hide behind wall/tree, create temporary wall

    3. Knock a skeleton into sunlight or force it into a small shady area.

    4. Run behind a tree, bait out and avoid a shot then charge

So skeles are useless in daylight essentially. Unless in water. But they won't strafe in the water to my knowledge. Snipe aqua skeles.

If you are in the plains, only fight them in daylight. They have little ground. If they are in a forest, your odds are good because you can hide behind trees.

Zoning is best all around, but you can also go for an ambush route. Get close enough without them being able to shoot then close the gap.

    Now, a few more ways.

    1. Iron Golem/Wolf

    2. Splash Potion of Healing/Regen

    3. Trap / knock off cliff

TL;DR: The best way to fight a skeleton is terrain advantage. They were always annoying, but are now a little polarized. So you have to exploit there's big weaknesses if you want to beat them. Use a shield if you use a sword and a sword if your using melee. and don't fully charge your strength meter because knockback from nerfed damage spam clicks > damage when zoning a mob. Otherwise bows and wolves make them easy targets.

So given the pros and cons of each terrain choose one that you think best suits your skeleton fighting style when building a house. Or even deforest your area and put one tree in a place you can easily kill them.

    Hydraheads,

you should add a download link for all the mods in the map,cuz i just cant find the correct version of customNPCs,

plz add a link,or just which version of the mod it is

    Any 1.8 version will work.

good work on the map anyways

BTW the game crashes when I try to eat porkchops? rly weird

im playing 1.8 forge, and things are spawning, a creeper blown up the path

Yeah, that's pretty wierd. I'll have to fix it.

also I do not think minecraft story mode takes place in 1.9

some essential 1.9 updates has not been seen in MCSM

    eg.

That's true. But we do see the ender dragon head. So it did borrow some things from 1.9. Still, it would be hard to place a version number on something with so many exclusive blocks, items, mobs, etc.

Added new mob Sheker (not sure if this spelling is correct)

    Added Shields

Added Potion arrows (eg arrow of poison, arrow of healing)

Added new effect :Levitation, players or mobs effected will, start to float upwards from the ground, this can allow flying in vanilla survival, unlike jump boosts, you still would take fall damage

potion of levitation and arrow of levitation can be obtained from a command block

none of these things is seen in MCSM

It does seem to predate 1.9 but as said above it has the ender dragon head and exclusive stuff.

And the obvious proof that 1.8

its the COMMAND BLOCK TEXTURE UPDATE

in MCSM,it is showing a 1.8 or earlier command block,1.9 has a slight different command block texture

also 1.9 is released to public in a experimental version

Well, if we wanna be technical here the 1.8- command block never had flashing lights on each side. Something which I'm pretty sure 1.9 has. Although the 1.8 ones still look more accurate. And many different things are retextured or remodeled such as the chests and doors. So we can't really make any call here.

    TL;DR

MC Story Mode has its own physics and items/blocks/mobs. It doesn't fit anywhere on the timeline.

Yeah, still waiting on episode 5's release. You'd think they'd have released it a month ago... but it's still not out.
So as I said last month, once that's released I'll play it then continue the build.
