Holy crap sorry guys, latest version of HxCEnchants will have a long standing error fixed, I completely forgot to enable something I should've enabled LOOONG ago. I coded the fix for enchanting table compat like 5 months ago and never enabled it. Now the enchants will apply as they should. in latest version being uploaded right now.
I've installed the latest Hxc Enchants for 1.7.10 same with the core and i can't get any results of the enchants working i tried the mod without anything else to see if that was the issue, I tried applying enchants through the enchantment table and anvil too. Also to note through the enchanting table i get enchants that are not on the correct gear eg. homing on sword.
Yeah I need to work on overwriting the vanilla enchanting table class to support my ENUM because vanilla minecraft has a stupidly made enum, that defies basic programming rules.
Very nice mod, but it looks like the "bound" enchantment is not working in the 1.7.10 version. I had the impression it was supposed to stop the enchanted item from dropping on death, but this does not seem to occur at any enchantment level. Did I misunderstand how the enchantment works, or is this just a bug?
Just to rule out any conflicts, the only mods I am running are "HxCCore-1.7.10-1.11.0-universal.jar" and "HxCEnchants-1.7.10-2.2.4.jar" using Forge version 10.13.4.1558.
It should be disabled by default since it's not even being looked at ATM. I had it working back in 1.4.6 and 1.6.2-1.6.4, but never got around to making it work again, I completely deleted the code. Karelmikie3 will work on it soon as it's his job to do Auto-Smelt and Bound enchants.
Fixed the bug with the 1.8.9 version, I forgot to set the version on github, no download required to see the fix functioning.
There wasn't a piston bug that I know of in the 1.8 version, but I updated anyway since it was out of date. There is no bug relating to pistons that I know of in this version, i tested placing down pistons and turning them on and off.
So, why does the Repair enchant do nothing? And what's with this charge system I'm hearing about? Until I know what's going on, I'm afraid I cannot use the enchant mod.
the enchants now require XP in the form of charges to work, they drain charge to do their job. Use the XPInfuser to put XP into the items. OR Disable charges system and the enchants will work as intended but without requiring charge. I'm soon to do yet another rewrite to clean the system up a bit more, and to make the charge requirement toggleable ingame, maybe as a gamerule?

Just a little side note: I'm using the latest version of your Core & Enchantments mod for 1.8 as well as Forge #1521. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I don't want to have to get rid of your mod just because of this issue. It does, however, prevent me from loading my main world back up again as I set up a redstone circle mechanism that keeps powering a piston. :/

I'm using the Vanilla pack and I have it set up for modding. I'm currently using Optifine, Deconstruction Table, CodeChickenCore/NEI, AppleCore, Chisel2, Chocolate Quest, Dense Ores, Enchanting Plus, Extra Utilities, Fast Leaf Decay, Gem Buffs, Global Gamerules, Project E, SmoothBedrock, Vein Miner, Waila, and Warp Book. I'm also testing out two other mods to see how they work, but I dont currently have HXCCore or Enchants installed. I'm using Forge 1.7.10-10.13.4.1448
Of those mods the only two I've never seen or tried is Gem buffs and global gamerules...
It should work with your setup since the only mod I don't think works with my mods only conflicts when god mode is active..
I've been trying to use the Core and Enchants mod for some time now, but no matter what I do, I cant seem to get them to work. I'm using the ATLauncher to begin with, and I cant seem to find the right combo of mods folder, jarmods folder, and a '1.7.10' folder in the mods folder, that would get the mods to work. The closest I've come is it telling me that I need at least Core 1.9.7, but even with that, the game wont even load. It's not a crashing issue I'm having, just a 'I cant get this to load' issue.
Just HxCCore and HxCEnchants latest, in mods folder. As for why it won't load what pack are you trying to add it to?

I think it's coincidence that my arrow enchants are triggering the effect, do it with any enchanted bow,
So, I'm running version 1.7.10-1.8.3 of the HxCCore and 1.7.10-2.1.8 of the HxCEnchants and for some reason I can't get Flash Step to work. I tried ruling out a couple things, but currently, I have it enchanted on my boots (please let me know if this is incorrect), and I made sure that the button I bound the ability to didn't have any overlapping keybind. Just in case I tried a mouse button and a keyboard button, but neither work There's no crash, and nothing in the log (running it in multiMC w/console activated) that I can see that gives any information about it, so I'm not sure if you can help or not. Thanks for any info or feedback you can provide!
Edit: Going to see if I can hunt down your github (if you have one) and see if anyone else has reported this- If not, I'd be happy to make a formal bug report, though there's no more info to give than what I already stated above.
I do have a github, it's linked below the mod title, saying "Issues go here" it goes to the github issues area... Test with latest version, you need charge, and a bit of it. Flash step makes sure you have a stable place to goto, I'm gonna tweak it a bit, since I've also had some derps with it not working...
If you disable the charges system, is it normal for enchantments to not work at all?
Only 2~ should be broken without charges system, Overcharge is the only one that would be IMPOSSIBLE to work without it Logically speaking. I'm currently on break but after of which I'll have a big update for Enchants, a rewrite for Block Released, and an update for the core.
I wanted to use your hxccore to make the range bigger like it said but it came with the issue exactly the same like the array is too big or something like that . 1.7 because 256 enchantment is too small
I extend the array to 512... My enchants mod uses IDs 400-460... So...
