Such rush to ride the TC5 Hype train ... Its just Too Suun Nekosune, you even forgot to fix up the the problem the smokey quartz pillar having a missing texture when its in your inventory
also you should have taken the time to update the frontpage ....
Well I can see why you wouldn't want to do an update so early on especially since golems aren't going to be in with the initial release. Still with 1.9 looming around the corner and forge being so far behind who knows how long it will be before we see thaumcraft on 1.9.
Personally i would love to see the mod updated with TC5 I won't be greedy, So if your decided the feel free to wait it out and either way I will respect you and all that you have brought to the community
Tuhjin, is it too soon to ask on your plans pertaining to Thaumcraft 5, and whether you'll be updating during 1.8 or 1.9, not updating Automagy past 1.7.10, etc.?
Nah It's late enough to get some answers out of Tuhljin, and I as well am curious as to what plans he has
I'm curious: If Thaumcraft were to be a game on its own - what kind of game would it be? Minecraft clone? Strategy? Something like Rimworld or Dwarf Fortress?
If Thaumcraft were to be a standalone game, I would imagine it would be different in these ways :
2d/retro styled graphics, At first the tones could be less saturated setting a slightly dreary tone that would improve as the player discovers more things that he/she can have influence on. I'd imagine it like harvest moon with dark and dreary toned colors
An openworld to explore, it has to expansive enough to give the player an opportunity to submerge themselves in your world.
semi rougelike dungeons , dungeons themselves should be hand tailored while keeping some aspects of monster/boss/loot rougelike however areas just before the boss/loot should be as rougelike as possible
No Its ok xilef11 its just that the minecraft modding community has been pretty stagnant as of late, unfortunate because 1.8 isn't that bad for modding on
Also I predict we will start seeing a shift to 1.8 modding whenever azanor releases a beta for TC5
I do agree wands should definitely be up-gradable again, but I think they should have a capacity for vis, which is what you upgrade, along with charging time and efficiency. Also, maybe there could be side grades, one that is super efficient but slow to charge, and another that is super fast to charge, but inefficient.
I sort of agree with this perhaps making the parts inter-changable would fix the problem we are facing with too many wands, well on second thought then we will have spare wand parts laying around perhaps wand parts could be used in a few other recipes other than just the wands
Hey, What program are you using to make those models? Might be interested in taking a look myself.
Also, The models are pretty cool, Thought up any ideas for what they are?(the ones that aren't shelves that is.)
I use ichuns mod tabula, it gets the job done, also gonna be working some more on some models later tonight.
Oh and I challenge you to make some unique accessories for the golems
I especially love your idea for those modular shelves; storing warded jars, scrolls, and books all on one BiblioCraft-style shelf would be an awesome addition to Thaumcraft! But those tables, too. Really cool work!
The table shelves would function the same as the regular shlves I really only had the desks in there as a template for working out the size objects should be
What about Shelves specifically to store essentia jars on? But they can still be used for infusion. Or if able, because 1.8, specific Thaumcraft related banner decoration/dying options? D:
I am a banner addict.
Not sure if these have been suggested yet. Brain isn't fully awake. >3<
You have pretty much hit the idea behind the shelves, except I would like not like to see a coder give up modularity for infusion capable jars
And the arcane wall-scroll will be dyable don't worry :L it wont change much besides what is wrote on it and giving the paper a slight tinge
In addition to looking really good you show a lot of thematic restraint. These could easily be in the core thaumcraft download. I typically only play with thaumcraft and *maybe* chisel and even that sort of puts too much in for me. love these
Edit: just saw your other post about porting the thaumcraft look to other mods. I think that's a great idea, would definitely play a thaumcraft-ified tinkers or something like that.
I do the same thing i have very few mods in my mod order, about a dozen or so
Oh yeah tinkers haven't seen a major shift to 1.8 but yeah I'll definitely be looking into some 1.8 mods to give the thaumcraft look to

To CaerMaster and others Wishing for infusion enchant to come back, no worries just be patient
And I hope we haven't forgot Osmotic enchantment in TT because in my opinion it was more reliable

I could probably make a model like that, but probably not other suggestions are welcome though
I Do have some interest in doing this but i would also make other mods match up with the thaumcraft theme
