    Serastia

    Serastia is a dimensional mod created by Hologuardian during Modjam 2. It is a flooded dimension with giant trees, vicious fish and poisonous insects.

    The Portal
    The portal is created out of logs and light it with glow powder, see images below.


    The Terrain
    There are very large trees along with interesting underwater formations present in Serastia.

    Will post pictures of the terrain later.

    ReplaceBlocksForBiome method in all of the chunk providers, compare that to the vanilla chunk provider generate and it should fix all your problems.

    Sheen, from what I know of Holo he can be a nice guy (I think) and he does have quite a reason to hate Xolova, but that doesn't mean he should be taking it out on the current dev team. But how you feel is how you feel, I cannot change that, and seeing as I've never looked up to anyone before, I'm winging this post. but both of you are being a little unfair to each other, so Holo, try offer up good advice, rather than ranking on the guys for not knowing how to fix the problem. And Sheen, if Holo is being a **** to you, don't do that same thing back. Treat him as you wish to be treated back, even if he started it.

    Now both of you, cool your jets and sort it out.


    It's mostly me trying to judge where the team is on the development stage, and I can say it used to be near impossible to get any response from the dev team on anything, and I guess my offensive comments are a result of that being nearly the only way to get anything at all out of the devs, and what I say is true, albeit in a more roundabout and less constructive way.

    However, there still seems to be a large problem in the management of how the development is going, and from what I can tell, the development progress is in a very curvy line.

    "Issue" does not mean the entire ­ing dimension isn't in shambles.
    In fact, you don't know what the issue is until I ­ing tell people.


    A quick fix in fact if you can get a decent grasp on the ChunkProviderGenerate class.

    Ah yes the ETA was delayed because a team of... 6 people can't do what many people during modjam made in under 96 hours. They are struggling with making single-biome dimensions (in which they already have the world-gen for)...

    I find it rather funny seeing as I did a dimension's world gen that is easily as complex as the dravite-mythril dimensions combined within 12 hours...

    Yeah there are other solutions, but it stems from CMS and how it handles the rainbour. Which is the point I'm trying to make.

    This is an oolld bug. I've narrowed it down, and the rainbour is one of like, 3 ambient creatures and they all get mass-spawned when custom mob spawner is enabled. Trust me, the problem is between DRPG and custom mob spawner, I've been tracking this bug for a long time, I don't know where in the code CMS break but it does and removing it WILL fix the issue.

    Edit:Looking into the CMS code snippet provided on the forum page it looks like it doesn't handle anything regarding ambient mobs, making me think that the changes it adds to the spawn code do not support this kind of mob spawning. Also, this bug has likely been fixed in newer versions of CMS, but we're only dealing with 1.4.7 with DRPG (since the devs haven't updated it yet...) and thus cannot use fixed versions of CMS.

    Other than the 50+ bug reports involving that mod along with the fixed in the config in that mod that fixed the problems, I'm rather certain it is a problem with how custom mob spawner handles ambient creatures.

    We do have estimates of when we think we will be able to do a release, but estimates are not exact of course :P
    I preffer not to share internal eta's for this exact reason, so no eta's here but we are comming closer and closer to something we can release.

    This evening I will work on making the vethea dimension work, while the others are fixing items and looking into a mysterious generation bug.
    So progress is being made and if nothing ­ed up happens we won't be that far behind our internal eta's :)


    On the dev's side nothing ever crashes for "no reason" there is always a reason... And there is always a fix.

    Nonono stahp stahp!
    It's a bug with this mod and custom mob spawner it causes several thousand rainbours to spawn underground, that's what's causing your lag.
