posted a message on Mod Request? Add Time managment mod

    Hi All!

I just came back to playing after a few years, and was pretty dismayed to find that the Time mod i used to use (by dmiller) is no longer updated. He said it was a simple mod. Can anyone make a time mod that can make the days longer, where you can set how long the day would be without making the night longer? I dont know how difficult that would be, but if it was done once with a simple mod, surely it can be done again? It seems to me that this is a really important feature that has been left untouched for a very long time, unless you dont mind using the cheat menu, but that requires constant adjusting. One mod that you can make the day last, say an hour, for the entire game would be so much better, and i know it would be welcomed by many players.

Right now i use the /set time cheat commands to either restart the day or freeze the day until I am done, and it kinda sucks, 20 minutes is just way too short a time to be able to travel far, or get much done without having to try and set up some kind of base at sunset......

Would greatly appreciate if such a thing could be done, or if the old mod could be reworked for 1.12.2.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I set up an auto potion maker, it runs a minecart hopper past a row of hoppers with potion ingredients. There is a row of redstone torches behind the hoppers which are turned off for each ingredient requested. But all of a sudden it is picking up 2 of each item instead of one.

Anyone know why that would happen and how can I make it pick up only 1 of each item? I keep 1 stack of each ingredient in the hoppers. Let me know if you need any additional information.

    Appreciate any help!

How exactly do we get at the ogg files so we can listen to them or convert them to mp3 from here? I was hoping to get the new music they just added on my mp3 player but I don't know if this means I can't, or if it's just become harder to do so

You cant any longer, as far as i know - the sound files are not in ogg files anymore. If you search the web, you might be able to download them though.
    Quote from gerbil

Look in the json file and search for the "file" that you want, e.g. "sounds/music/game/piano3.ogg"
Identify the corresponding "hash", e.g. "9528b6a76e7bac64ca1145cc682e8a8448cc04e5"

Find this file at assets/objects/95/9528b6a76e7bac64ca1145cc682e8a8448cc04e5 <= note the first two characters define the directory

Copy this file to wherever.ogg e.g. Desktop/piano3.ogg and listen to it.

Ahh - ok - i didnt see this post - thank you gerbil!

yes - I thought of that, but how do i set it up? If the bottom layer has water, do I dig another layer down and put the hopper next to the water, then a chest to the side of that? It says to make half the 3rd layer water on one side, should the hopper just sit next to it and the chest next to that?

I dont see how this should be set up....

    Hi,

I was building the snow golem turrent that is described in the tutorials,

    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Snow_golems

and it says at the end:

    13. If you'd like to collect the drops, in the 3x3 hole, make the deepest layer have water on one side leading to a collection center, the middle layer signs, and the top layer lava.

I have been looking for a way to provide a collection center, but cant find anything that would help make a simple collection method for a 3 x 3 x 3 area.

I know to put a bucket of water on the bottom level on one side, then signs on the next level, then lava on the center stone for the top layer.

But how do i made the collection center by the water? And how do i get to it?

    Appreciate any advice!

Thanks for the replys. After I went down i did explore - I was at Y = 70, so it was the bottom level that I needed to be on. djneked@ - you may have to travel a while - I put my game on peaceful, and was able to wander quite a way. I saw the dark bridges in the distance, it was more then 300 blocks away. But Once you see the bridges, you can follow them to the castle.
You really have to do a lot of searching, and explore everywhere. I left trails of torches and Jack O lanterns and signs so i can find my way back. The castle will not be found going through netherrack tunnels, but on the surface. Make sure you are at ground level, not high up where is seems common to start.

Also, when i did find the castle, there was no Netherwort there, I continued to seach, and found another section that I had to break through the windows to enter, and it was another large area with netherwort and chests. So you have to search very carefully, which is why i went into peaceful mode. Being in peaceful mode allowed me to made roads and small safehouses from my base fort to the castle so I can get there without too much trouble. I added lots of stone steps so I could quickly get around.

Its a good idea to prepare what you need in advance, I died several times before I went into peacemode. In peacemode. you will be able to collect a lot of the resources, getting the glowstone is much harder, as it grows above you, so a lot of searching for the lowest ones is required. You have to build columns straight up (Mine were 2-3 blocks wide) to reach them, but i was able to collect a ton of glowstone this way.

Its easy to get lost, so bring lots of torches and Jack O lanterns and signs to clearly mark your way. Then you can go back and build stone roads and stairs, so when attacked by the ghast, it cant destroy or set fire to your roads and safehouses.

Make sure the 1st time you go down (If you need to ) to bring a lot of stone and ladders so you can get back up! you should do this before you do anything else!

posted a message on Need some help with the Nether!
    Hi,

I am kind of stuck in the nether, not knowing where to go to find a castle. When I arrived I was in a good location, pretty secure, and I built a solid cobblestone structure all around the portal. But when I went out I found I was situated a long way from what appeared to be anywhere, as in the following:

    And

And looking straight out across the caverns:

I checked my coordinates, and my Y axis was at 110. So I think the roof is like 130? That means I had to go down, so I made a gravel elevator:

And went down. At this location I was at Y =71. But when I looked up I saw this:

    And this:

I went back up and dug a tunnel a bit higher up at 117 to the large area that was accross from me, but I didnt know what to do, as everytime I dug out It was overlooking the caverns.
I then went back down and started exploring. I had switched to peaceful as I died twice trying to find a way down and lost a lot of good equipment. So until I get my bearings I will stay in peaceful mode.

I searched around for a while, but could not find any castles or bridges or anything. I mined some crystals, soul sand and glowstone, but I am completly lost as to where the castle should be.

Based on the images, can anyone give me an idea of where to go? Should I tunnel all the way up, as in the 5th & 6th pictures? I think that would just bring me to the roof. Is Y = 70 about the right height for a castle? Should I go further down?

I watched a ton of youtube videos and everyone seemed to have landed on the floor and was able find a castle right away, so I am at a loss as to what to do now.

    Please help!!

You have to do more than put it in the resource folder. You actually have to select a resource pack inside Minecraft and tell it you want to use it. Did you select the resource pack in Minecraft? (Options -> Resource packs)

Ahhhhhhh - nooooooo . I never read that anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!! I will do that!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you!!!!!!!

EDIT: - I saw the resource file in the options and added it and it worked!! Thank you so much for all your help!!!

    Hi,

The second one worked fine for me, I've made some minor edits to the mcmeta, you can try this.

    Extreme,

I put the zip file in my resources folder and it did not work. Do I need to unzip it?
When you said it worked fine, you heard the changes to the door and chest sounds?

I read somewhere that you needed Java SE to use the single player command. I was interested in giving that a try so I installed the Java. Could that cause a problem with the minecrat resources?

This is a fresh install of minecraft (I had already uninstalled and reinstalled it earlier).I cant imagine why it would work for you and not for me.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
