BanjoPlayingHorse posted a message on Stealth Attacks on MobsMobs currently have eyes behind their heads and can sense you coming farely easily. With the new mob AI, mobs are getting smarts and more realistic (as realistic as a green exploding monster can be). With this, I think they should add the ability to sneak up on a mob and do a sneak attack. You can already do this in multiplayer when PvPing, so why not in regular minecraft?Posted in: Suggestions
Basicly:
1. When you are out of a mob's line of sight they will not attack you.
2. Mobs will look around sometimes, making it hard to hide from them.
3. The distance mobs are able to track you is determined by the light level you are standing in, and if you are sneaking or not.
4. If you are walking the mobs can hear you coming and will track you. (If you sneak they can't track you this way.)
4. If you attack a mob will they are not tracking you, it is a critical hit.
5. If a player in multiplayer is not looking at you when you hit them, it is a critical hit.
6. Spiders, both cave and normal, still have the same tracking system becuase they have better senses than the other mobs.
7. The sneaking crit will not stack with a jumping crit. (The logic is that once they hear you jump you are discovered)
8. Mobs that are tracking you will alert other mobs in the area of your presence (thanks to TehEPICD00D)
9. When you are hit your hurt sound can alert mobs (thanks to TehEPICD00D)
If you can sneak up on a mob and deal crits, this will add a whole new dimension to sneaking and combat. This could also be coupled with a shoe's enchantment called "Soft Steping" which allows you to walk and have the silent effect that sneaking has (it would be present in level 10 or higher enchantments)

Explodeyman posted a message on Crates - A new storage blockSo, I often find myself placing a chest, unloading my valuables, then find out that I didn't want that chest there after all, then have to go through a big hassle of loading my inventory again, destroy the chest and place it again (Which is quite annoying. At least to me)Posted in: Suggestions
So the solution to this problem, (And a solution for people that remodel their storage room a lot) is crates.
Firstly, Crates are crafted like so:
(Or if that image is too small for you...
[]
)
So whats so different from the chest and the crate?
Well firstly, you can push it holding the Sneak button, So its a bit more useful than a chest in that regard.
The small downside, is that it cannot be made into a "Double-Chest" or whatever its called. Also because of it being a bit cheaper, it only holds 18 slots, not the normal 27. (It can be pushed after all!)
Okay, so that's it?
Not quite, it doesn't need to be opened from the top, so it can have a block on top of it (Helps with compact spaces).
It can be used to decorate large Warehouses a long with chests, so it adds a bit more variety.
So, what happens to the crate if its pushed over a Torch, Redstone, and other non-solid blocks?!
Well, I would think it would work like when water flows over redstone, or other non solid blocks...
It would destroy them and drop what it destroyed.
Crates would also obey gravity, just like sand and gravel.
When crates are pushed over a half block/stair block, they would elevate up 1 block.

This thing would act like a button being pushed when ever someone crosses it's path... It only works for players, kind-of like endermen don't react when sheep look at them.
Perhaps you could even fool it with a pumpkin on your head....
