Not all of my source images were that high in resolution, so 64x64 is best I can do. I actually prefer 32x32 resolution with Mineralogy because it hits a sweet spot between video-game looking and real-looking. The higher resolution tends to be more obvious that it is a repeated texture because it has more details for your eye to notice (and 16x16 isn't high enough resolution to easily tell all of the rocks apart).
Fair enough. I admit to being spoiled Hopefully grimmliberty responds.
This looks very cool but I'm a 128 texture guy (can't imagine living without ChromaHills now ) Is there any of those out there? I saw that grimmliberty had made his own but didn't see them linked anywhere. I've PM'd grimmliberty but thought I'd post here as well for any help available.
Hey thanks for taking the ropes mod up to where it is, it's hella useful for my adventurerering. I'd like to ask that if you do another update, please consider bringing the recipes out into the .cfg? I'd like to switch to using full arrows + string + special tip instead of crafting them. The reason is feathers are only common if you run a serious chicken farm and I don't like do that 'cause it's a waste of chickens.
But I collect a solid stack or two of string and arrows from every good cave-clearing expedition, so I always have plenty of those. So having the recipes in the .cfg would let me do that, plus tinker with the special-tip recipe to find something balanced for the way I play (harder to make).
If it's convenient, having the damage and effects for the special tips in the CFG would be nice too. Explosive arrors are seriously OP in my kind of game so I would like the option to tone them down. I'd probably add lots more rope to the Rope Arrow and cut the length down so i had to fire multiple to climb a high wall. (I just like having to work for things )
Thanks again for taking this mod to where it is! I use it every game.
... nope not dead at all.... I'll go through all your concerns since my last update and give back any feedback. This RL thing is getting really out of hand and I do apologize for any lack of updates since last April. Thank you very much MohawkyMagoo and to those whose support of the mod has not wavered. Cheers!
Good to hear from you! You already have heard my support, but I'll just add that I'm playing on a server using MoCreatures and after getting it semi-working (still has clump spawning in places) the owner is frankly scared to touch it. It's got the creatures she needs, but the technical knowledge is just too much. But she could absolutely configure Project Zulu, as even I learned that with little effort.
So just as a comparison between MoCreatures and Project Zulu on that server, if PZ just had a couple more creatures (big cats for one, maybe ghosts / wraiths to spawn underground for another), I believe it would be a drop-in replacement for MoCreatures. (Not saying I could get her to switch after all that work, but it's a point-for-point comparison.)
Just one more point - you might want to take a look at the rhino's aggression settings. It seems unresponsive to anything, even when I set it high.
Thanks for supporting this mod, and I hope it becomes even more successful!
I get the same thing, but editing the configuration file for the scale seems to work, and /tsi shows info for the current scale - it's a bit tedious versus changing mid-game, but I think that's actually a better choice, since some more intensive mods (like millenaire) don't really like the time scale changed "live" either...
I can support that Timescaler works on 1.7.10. I've been running it for weeks. You do have to use the config file instead of in-game commands, but that's my preference anyways.
Thanks for making this mod! Still the best way to double the MC day
I think so. modder is also working on something else and RL. But its not dead.
Good to hear! This mod is the best candidate to replace the awfully-hard-to-configure MoCreatures mod. It's way easier to configure the creatures for biomes, and also the easily-tweakable aggression and flight settings is icing on the cake. Having the tombstone option is the cherry on top of the icing
So the only thing I think it needs to be more competitive with MoCreatures is more creatures.
Had you considered a UI to control M-Ores spawns, or a config file? I wouldn't mind tweaking the ore frequency and material properties to find out what works for me, and then posting the results here for your evaluation. I bet others wouldn't mind either, and that would let you collect data on how people are using the mod.
I started working on new version! It will contain some improvements in balance.
Hey just a thought on balance - I'm collecting stacks of M-Ores gems, and I'm not even shaft mining. I'm just Indiana Jones-ing caves and ravines and prying the stuff out of the walls. I actually get many times the amount I need for tools, weapons and armor and don't have a use for the rest. Might I suggest lowering the frequency? I'd be happy with half or even a third the amount - I'd have some left over after making all my stuff, but not much. And shaft miners would still find a lot more than I do, so I can't imagine anyone running short.
Again, thanks for modding this up! It adds a lot of fun to the game.
Just wanted to put in a word about the tombstone - it has an occasional issue with locating itself on a different level from where you died. That's why I thought there was no tombstone a couple of times, it had ported itself up to a different tunnel.
But that's not a huge thing - the beam gives it away from above, and you can find it that way. What is huge, and AWESOME, is that the Tombstone supports HatChest - the mod which lets you carry a chest on your head. I was moving my stuff to a new home and fell to my death, and when I got back, the Tombstone had all of my stuff, plus all of the stuff in the chest, plus the chest. In a word, SWEET!
So that's great and I just wanted to put it out there. Since that's the case, it might also support Backpacks too fyi.
One can go check from Chromahills downloads page. Patches for mods will be publicly available free of charge as the main resource pack is. The nature of Donor Forum is like the title says Behind the Scenes Chat. It occasionally includes WIP files for Chroma Hills resource pack.
Thanks for the info! I don't see anything but ChromaHills on that page, so I just assumed all mod patches were for donators from your comment. My bad.
Donators/Patreons can download the files from Chromahills website, BUT you have to have donated/be patreon to see this forum.
Quick question on this - if someone can't see the forum for donators, how would they know if a texture pack is available for any other mod? This would be an added incentive to donate, eh?
Suggestion: would it be possible to see just the thread titles for the added packs, but not the actual posts? (I'm assuming each has it's own thread, and that the download links are in the posts.) That way a non-donator could confirm that a ChromaHills pack is / is not available, and go from there on whether they wanted to donate to get access.
Thanks again for making the best resource pack for MC ever!
As for the big cats, I have considered it. I was already studying the big cats added by the Wild Animals mod and may do something. Thanks for the suggestion though. Cheers!
Something similar to this? But bigger and meaner right?
/agree with the big cats idea - moar predators pls! Wolves would be sweet too. The bears work great by the way - love the warning roar, it's scared the crap out of me several times in the forest, and it comes just in time to run. (Except for the time I didn't run to see how dangerous bears were - pretty bad@ss to an unarmored person. I lived, but not by a lot).
On the crab thing - nice idea, but I dunno where it fits into my MC concept. Maybe on islands only?
I don't trust any DL sites but the Minecraft Forum Modlist (http://modlist.mcf.li/) and Curse, with rare exceptions for sites operated by trusted modders. Zero bullcrapware installed, ever.

Will this enable repairing tools / armor made with M-Ores ores? 'Cause that would be awesome

Hey question - what are Ostrich Eggs for? No recipes show in Craftguide so I haven't a clue.
