An easy way to get to this folder is by opening Minecraft, going to options and then resource packs. Click open resource pack folder. Once in this folder go one folder back to .minecraft and then scroll until you find the mods folder. Open this up, we will use this later.
Step 2: Find Forge Download
Go to http://files.minecraftforge.net/ Find the version of Forge you would like to install. If you want to play On Minecraft 1.8 install Forge 1.8. Once you select which version you want go to *Download Recommended and click Installer.
Step 3: Downloading Forge Installer
When you click Installer it will bring you to a Adfoc.us page. DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING. Wait until a red Skip button appears in the top right corner, then click it. It will open another tab. Close this tab. If you are using Google Chrome at the bottom there should be a message asking to keep or discard. Please keep. If you are on another browser something similar should happen.
Step 4: Installing Forge
Once it has downloaded run the file. A window should pop up asking you to install Client, Server or Extract. Install client. Make sure it installs to your .minecraft folder wherever that is located for you. You will have needed to run the version of Minecraft once before downloading that same version of forge. Ex. Run Minecraft 1.8 before Downloading Forge 1.8. When its done press the OK button.
Step 5: Forge Set Up
Now open your Minecraft Launcher. Go to the Profile tab at the bottom left. Try to find a profile named Forge. Click on this profile and click the Edit Profile button. Rename it Forge 1.8 and save.
Step 6: Installing mods
If you have forge 1.8 make sure all the mods you download are for 1.8. If you install a mod and it comes in a zip folder then open the zip folder and inside should be the mod. Take the mod and drop it in your mods folder.
Step 7: Mods not working
If mods aren't working then it probably means either of these 3 things. 1-Wrong version 2-Missing Required Mod 3-Mods not compatible. After your done installing mods and fixing them. Open up Minecraft in the Forge Profile you just created.

AFTER YOU DO THIS A COUPLE TIMES YOU WILL GET THE HANG OF IT!! ITS SIMPLE TO REMEMBER!! SAVE THIS PAGE AS A BOOKMARK OR FAVORITES SO YOU CAN COME BACK TO IT!! I HOPE THIS HELPED!! PEACE OUT
