    I opened and forwarded port 25565, which is the port I'm using. I've made Firewall exceptions for just about everything I can think of. I can connect to the server with "localhost" as the address.

    No one else can connect to my server. Yes, I have double- and triple-checked they are using the right IP and port.

    I'm on Windows 7 and am using 100% vanilla Minecraft.

    Wait, so this works in SMP even if you're the only one with the mod installed?!

    EDIT: I suck at skim-reading. What happens if they don't have the mod? Do they just see nothing, or are there bugs with the character appearance, or what?

    Also, yeah, I can't see too many dimensions being a bad thing. Frankly, Minecraft as a dimension-hopping type of game would be pretty sweet, IMO.

    But, yeah, I'm glad Jeb_'s doing the API first. It's about time.

    Grats, although it's pretty easy if you have all the correct gear. Is that with no armor, though? Not too shabby if it's with no armor. Now do it with no sword and no potions. You could probably even do it with no food if you really tried. ^^

    Isn't boat phasing beatable by simply making the walls 2m thick? Or am I not thinking of the same phenomenon that you guys are?
    I definitely like the idea of making the storage minecart come to you after going through a large enough passage that it'd suffocate anyone going through it. How long would that take, though? Does armor help against suffocation? If so, it might not be worth it, since it'd be so big.
    Also, could one prevent griefing with lava/water to destroy at least some of the tracks? Is there anything that minecarts can pass through that liquids can't?

    Can you make a "lite" version that only has the visual things, so that texture pack people that don't support gameplay-changing mods (coughmisacough) may still support the planets and such? I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to take away the features that probably take the most work to make. ^^

    EDIT: didn't read the comments. Aesthetic releases sound great, especially if you keep a version of it once you also get the other features in.

    If you build a landing pad, then your ship on top of it, will it attempt to include the landing pad in the ship design? If not, how does it know when the ship ends and the landing pad begins?
    Also, I know it says that submarines aren't possible yet, but what if you made a boat that has just the bottom 1m of it in the water? Otherwise it'll look like it's hovering, and therefore just be a zeppelin that just doesn't go up or down. :tongue.gif:

    Also, a suggestion for a future version (although I'm aware that your other plans are also super-important!): make it require a certain density to fly (configurable, of course), with each block having a certain configurable "mass" and completely enclosed air counting towards the density. That's probably super-hard, but would be absolutely amazing.
    If it were possible for it to update the density readings after crashing into things (it says that you're planning to make blocks be destroyed if it hits something too hard), it would also make for some pretty exciting crashes. :smile.gif:

    I'm a little bit confused and almost half stupid, so it'd be exceedingly nice if someone could explain a couple things to me:

    Now that cauldrons are actually in the game, what happens now? I mean, I know the vanilla cauldrons are utterly useless, but it doesn't crash the game to have both or anything like that, right? Or does the mod delete the vanilla cauldrons?

    Also, how does this impact my SMP? Do I have to uninstall every time I play on a server?

    Is this going to turn into another argument about how many strongholds there are?

    Brilliant idea, I found the dragon rather anticlimactic and unsuited to be the be-all-and-end-all of the ending of Minecraft. Would be even cooler if they differed a bit by something randomly selected (i.e. spawners, different materials, dragons that drop different coloured eggs, etc?).
    I may be getting ahead of myself here, but getting various things from various End dimensions could even lead to a better ending.

    While this is fine, it's not really much of an improvement over the current model of not doing anything. What if the haed moved forward a bit too? You could picture it as lunging, biting, anything you want, really.

    Then again, if I were in charge, I'd probably also make the endermen thrust at you with their... chest. That's about where your head goes up to on them, right?

    What? What did you think I was going to say?
