As you can probably tell from the topic prefix, this is a request thread. That is, I'm looking for a seed with lots of sheep.
You see, I have the sudden urge to make a barn out of red and white wool with a nice cobblestone roof, and I can't do that very easily without quick access to some sheep. The most I've seen when looking for seeds like this are about 5-6 sheep spread out over a large area, but what I'm looking for is more like 10-12 sheep in a fairly small area so that I can find them.
Preferably a flattish biome (in my head it's plains, but if not that's fine), and red flowers are a bonus.

Feb 19, 2012Hedgehogs4Me posted a message on Expansion Add-Ons (Different themes catering to all players)I have enough trouble as it is finding a nice, friendly server to have a nice time playing. If most of them were for expanded versions, I think I might cry.Posted in: Suggestions
Feb 19, 2012Iron comes in nuggets? Huh. I had to Google that one. Frankly, I think they should completely do away with nuggets and just make everything give ingots (gold and iron aren't exactly hard to find), but maybe that's a discussion for another day.Posted in: Suggestions
I do like the idea of having regular pigmen, though; I've always been an advocate for it.
Feb 19, 2012Hedgehogs4Me posted a message on New craftable building blocks, please! (And maybe trophies?)Honestly, the main reason I'd want a redstone block would be to transmit a redstone signal underwater, or to act like the new lamps but also powering each other for easier wiring. I don't see any reason to make them act differently than regular redstone.Posted in: Suggestions
As for the sponge recipe, it really makes no sense. I'd much rather see sponges be able to be gathered/farmed from underwater.
For the hay bale, I think 4 and 4 makes more sense, even if that does mean that you're wasting one wheat. I'd still use 'em.
Trophies should be a rare drop. Crafting them doesn't make any sense. You can't make a spider head with string and an eye.
That's basically all the feedback I can think of right now. Good thread.
Feb 19, 2012256 meters is not enough for the air to start becoming thin, and besides, you can hide from mobs by digging a 1x2x1 hole and then hiding in it. In fact, really, since your hunger meter doesn't go down if you don't do anything, you could just stay there forever, and you've basically solved Minecraft. Why don't people just dig that hole and then give up on Minecraft completely? There's nothing to do like that, and the same thing applies to hiding out a bazillion levels above everything! There's no diamond there. There are no strongholds or dungeons there.Posted in: Suggestions
I don't really see the problem.
Honestly, I was expecting this to be a thread about higher mountains.
Feb 19, 2012I like the texture-changing-and-then-shears idea. Roses actually growing on top seems a little bit silly, though.Posted in: Suggestions
Also, last I checked, dandelions don't have bushes IRL. They do, however, grow in insane numbers all over lawns, so perhaps the lack of bushes could be made up for by occasional random spawning on grass, or a mushroom-like spreading mechanic. I'd also like to see a similar thing happen with tall grass.
Feb 19, 2012While I love to see zombies becoming more interesting, I think that their ability to open doors will become a little bit annoying after a bit (I like how my wooden doors look, thank you very much), so I'd love to see them only do it on full moons.Posted in: Suggestions
I'd also love to see occasional armor/tools, but only rarely, and I'm thinking spider-jockey-rare. I would like to freak out when I see a really geared-up zombie, not just think, "Damn it, not again."
Feb 19, 2012Hedgehogs4Me posted a message on A Way To Dispense, Not Shoot, Arrows/Eggs/Snowballs^ I suppose you're right. It'd be way more fiendish if, say, pistons couldn't damage blazes. With pistons working fine in the nether, though, it looks like my suggested addition would be a little bit silly, pointless, and occasionally frustrating. I still support your idea fully, though. I'd be especially interested in the implications of being able to use pistons to put the soul sand underneath and then remove it. :smile.gif:Posted in: Suggestions
Feb 19, 2012I'd like to see this, plus an aqualung, if and only if oceans receive an update to become more interesting. It seems a little bit on the pointless side right now.Posted in: Suggestions
Also, if you don't sink in water, how do you go down? Shift?
Feb 19, 2012Another solution that makes a bit more sense to me, and would be easier to code:Posted in: Suggestions
- Leaves that don't get enough light die, just like wheat (and I believe also saplings).
- Allow saplings on logs.
- Saplings grow into a couple logs (occasionally with branches) with leaves around them, and another sapling on top. (EDIT: would be even better if they lacked leaves if grown on anything except another log, so that you only get leafy trees once the sapling grows twice, instead of having ridiculous-looking bushes at first)
That way, once the tree grows high enough, the leaves on the top (which filter out a percentage of light) will block the light of the ones on the bottom, and it'll start to look like a normal tree.
Note that this also allows tree pruning and bonsai tree growth.
Then again, get real. I don't think any of this will happen, especially since we just got new jungle trees that let you grow them into huge trees with 2x2 squares. I'd love to have this available as a mod, though.
Feb 19, 2012Hedgehogs4Me posted a message on A Way To Dispense, Not Shoot, Arrows/Eggs/SnowballsThis would be nice. I was working on a bedrock logic puzzle a while ago where the player is given mob eggs through a hidden dispenser (as they could use a chest to direct water), and the news that dispensers placed mobs made me have to scrap it and start over, but this seems like a great fix.Posted in: Suggestions
It could also lead into another way of making the nether a bit more challenging, if dispensers in the nether always acted like they were on top of soul sand. It's a giant cave with lava on the bottom, which would create a heat differential which would then create wind, which would then blow bits of soul sand everywhere, no?
Feb 19, 2012It works, but it's an open dungeon very close to the surface. Turn left and you can see daylight. I was hoping for a bit more of a challenge. :wink.gif:Posted in: Seeds
Still a great find. It's nice to have a skelly dungeon nearby.
