posted a message on Is singleplayer getting boring?
    Quote from TheNosferatu

The only thing about minecraft that really gets boring only started since.. I belief it was Beta.. or maybe the halloween update.. not sure...

Because before that, minecraft was the best game you never heard about. Now, alot of people know it and I agree with a previous post 'Minecraft is not for everybody'. Sure, this game is fun enough to please about everyone for a while, but since Minecraft became really popular, got alot new players, the amount of 'Bored' topics started coming up. Sure, those topics where around before, but when I clicked those I got interesting discussions of new stuff to try, now? The topic is filled with SMP and Mod suggestions...

That is boring. I love this game, I've been playing vanilla minecraft singeplayer since alpha and while I do enjoy some smp occasinaly, i wouldn't trade it for my ssp map.

If you're bored of minecraft, thats fine. Obviously this game is just not for you. Which again is fine. But why do people have to post about that? Don't you have other things to do?

I agree with you, Minecraft is a great game. I play vanilla minecraft on my server (no mods or anything, it's private!) and with teamwork we still harvest enough materials to create large buildings, like my castle. It's more satisfying when you don't just /give materials.
However, a lot of people I'm sure like more of a linear game structure, which Minecraft is not. Some people hear "This game is awesome, I spend hours on it!", they start playing, then get bored because they just aren't the market this was geared to.
I'm not stereotyping or judging, just saying, not every game is for you... No matter how much you want to jump into the craze!

I think one of the best attributes to the game when you first play it is the unknown. You find yourself wondering what's the sound outside your dirt house, and you scramble to try to... well... survive! Honestly I think if there were more dangerous mobs, and more of them, then it would add a bit more excitement. And when you do die, I think the spawn point should move to different locations. Not too far, of course, but enough so if you make your house close the first day, you don't just say "Oh well, I can just grab my stuff when I respawn."

I will hold my breath until 1.8 is out, and hope that that resparks the excitement!

The ravines look so cool! You'll just be mining and all of a sudden you come across a huge chasm... seems a bit like a action movie set!
