I wish the NPCs can see doors of other Mods like the Carpenter's Blocks and XtraBlocks EE.These three mods can create a 3D Skyrim-wannabe RPG Maker modpack.
As I suspected, it's an ID problem. CustomNPCs is overwriting Metallurgy things when they share the same ID.
I loaded up a fresh instance of 1.5.2 with Metallurgy and CustomNPCs. All of the base metals are there, but several of the Precious metal items are missing (For example, Platinum Chestplate would have an ID of 27014, which is now being used by CustomNPCs' Musket item. The Chestplate is thus replaced by the Musket)
You'll just need to change the IDs on one side so they aren't conflicting, but that is in fact the reason for your problem.
Here's the catch:
Those Metallurgy Base items are at 26000's range, while the Custom NPCs extra items in my case are assigned at unused 8200+. Apparently, not all of my IDs are fully occupied.
Okay, and what were the results of running Metallurgy by itself in a world and letting it generate a new config?
It seems that the Custom NPC's extra items caused the item sprites' disappearance. I'm apparently preparing my minecraft game to be a jRPG-play-oriented modpack hence why it can't anymore render some items.
I saw your post, but I'm afraid I don't really have any solutions for that. Try loading a world with only Metallurgy (and requirements like KeithyUtils if on 1.6.2 and Forge, obviously) and seeing if the problem still persists. Don't use your existing config file for this, make a backup and move it out of the folder or rename it so that Metallurgy creates a new config.
It's possible there's some sort of ID issue that's causing that, though I honestly don't know.
The second can be done via config, as for the first ... depends on what you intend to do?
I'd like to make 5 variants of the golem, some of them will look straight from different Japanese mecha and monster shows, in terms of their skin though.
Would it be possible for us to add our own named MCA characters there? Because if I'll be including MCA to my "You Are Not Alone" modpack, I'd like to sometimes make use of our own creations' names like for example, only for my modpack:
Asuna: Good at swords, high speed, low vitality (uses my own version of Asuna skin)
Kirito: Good at swords, mid speed, mid vitality (uses my own version of Kirito skin)
Sachi: Chance of death or battle retreat is high

Or few words short, I'd like to make my players have PlanetMinecraft personalities in their MCA/You Are Not Alone game.
Xander, I browsed through the assets of Metallurgy 3, and I kind of wanted to use Shadow's designs on vanilla items. Is there a way to enable his designs instead of me using vanilla resources? Metallurgy 2 has an override option for that, as much as I know.
I would like a Disgaea mashup for Minecraft Playstation versions, and be able to have a Lv9999 character. all stuff can be enchanted to their XXX Level (30)

What if someday NISA (of Disgaea fame) and Mojang teamed up for PS-Minecraft specials?

With CarpenterBlocks, I can just kill all of the stairs and slabs of XBEE and save more IDs.
TRUE?
