Go cut down the tree and make a wood pickaxe, mine 11 stone.
Create a furnace
Create a stone pickaxe
Now mine the pocket of iron NOT in the cave, that should be enough for a full set
Mine some coal for fuel
Cook the iron, in the meantime go collect the saplings from the tree and plant them, get more wood for a house or get stone for a stone hut, either one works.
Craft the tools and you all set!
