Thank you, Pancen, for your kind words about the server and for the beautiful things you build there! Looking forward to seeing how your real estate ventures on Ite Island and in Rivertown turn out. For those of you who haven't visited the Finite Frontier yet, the image above called "Main street of Ite Island" shows a row of five houses all built by Pancen.

    The Finite Frontier

The core idea of this server is a pure player-driven economy. There are no admin shops or admin builds. 100% of the resources, including all money, is generated by players under vanilla survival mechanics. We use plugins only to implement property and facilitate money and markets.

    Rivertown

    Key Features

    • Money is created by converting diamonds. Every single unit of currency represents an actual diamond that someone dug up and converted.
    • You can claim land as your property and buy/sell real estate. The cost of homesteading land is 1 diamond per 10 square blocks.
    • You can create shops to buy or sell any kind of item to other players. Shopkeepers get notifications and log data to keep track of their business.
    • PVP combat is disabled by default but can optionally be enabled.

Comprehensive information about server configuration and plugins is available on this wiki page. Admin makes a point of answering questions in detail.

    Rules

Admin tries to interfere as little as possible. There are very few rules. Just don’t hack and don’t be rude. Client-side mods are allowed as long as they respect vanilla mechanics. All kinds of redstone machinery and farms are allowed. You are allowed to take or claim anything that is not already claimed.

    Emerald Beach

    Difficulty

The server runs hard mode and is meant to be challenging. There is no teleportation except vanilla nether portals. Villagers are nerfed as to not sell diamond gear or enchanted books. No free resources, no free claim for your starter house, no lottery crates, no ranks, no vote nagging... Just a pure Hard Survival + Property experience.

    World

The main world uses a custom pre-generated TerraForged map with beautiful landscapes, including high mountains, large river systems and large biomes (screenshots). The map is 20,000 x 20,000 blocks and players spawn in one corner of a large continent. Fire spread and creeper craters are disabled to protect the landscape. There is no Dynmap, so the world remains mysterious and only a small part of it has been explored so far.

    Community

The server was launched 11 weeks ago. 170+ players have logged in. 70+ players own land. During peak hours there are usually 10-20 players online. The community is friendly and helpful. There is no chat filter, but clean language is expected. Mixed ages, including some families playing together. There are many skilled architects and redstone engineers.

    Communications

There is a Discord with plenty of activity and the in-game chat is mirrored to a Discord channel for easy access even when you are offline. Our wiki has technical details, tutorials, information about places, markets and more. Players are invited to add and edit pages. There is also a website with basic information and some storytelling.

    Miscellaneous

Focus is on the main world but there is a multi-world setup (BungeeCord) with a few smaller novelty/themed/utility worlds, including a creative world with exactly the same plugins and config as the main world (for testing technical builds).

Server owner accepts donations but there is a strict no P2W policy. Donors don’t get any kind of in-game resources or competitive advantage. Donors get minor cosmetic changes and access to little things outside the main world (e.g. themed mini worlds).

The server is new but based on a long term plan. The owner is committed to keeping it alive for many years, as long as someone wants to play on it. There will be no changes of rules or game mechanics. There will be no world resets. The server will run 1.16 forever, i.e. it will never be upgraded to 1.17 or later versions of Minecraft.
