Clearly you don't use this mod, because there is no spawner, and only one gorgon per temple, so you cant make a farm (this was done to prevent grinding). Also, the temples are very rare. Heck i searched for a whole hour IN CREATIVE MODE and still didn't find one. You second point still stands, but keep in mind that you have to find them first. So it is really you who should try harder.

:) lol alrighty. I've got better things to do with my time than argue over the validity of a farming method on minecraft. I'll give you the win. Later

EDIT - I see that you're very interested and involved in this mods development. I'll be porting a mod I'm overseeing called minefantasy to 1.12 and placing integration for ice and fire into it so keep a lookout for it.

Here are some reasons it is not OP
    * There are only a limited number in the world.
    * It is a very hard fight.
    * Each gorgon gives you one bottle of each type of blood.
    * With the left blood, you can only make a limited number of arrows.
Explain how this is cheating the mechanics of the game, if you have to get powerful stuff as it is, just to beat the gorgon and get these items. Explain to me how this is OP. It is no more OP than than a pixie giving you infinite speed, or a dragon that can kill anything and is near unkillable, or a head that kills anything instantly.

For one, it's not a "limited amount". They come from spawners.

Two, minecraft has infinitely generating worlds so that makes your limited implication even less valid.

So, theoretically you could make a gorgon farm and negate some of the survival aspects of MC. Try harder.

I have a bunch of information you can use to give you many ideas on what needs to be done. My tutorials here (http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/p/minecraft-modding-general-tips-for.html) and here (http://jabelarminecraft.blogspot.com/p/minecraft-modding-updating-your-mod.html) gives a bunch of advice on how to generally do upgrading and also has specific guides to update from 1.7.10 to 1.8 then to 1.10 then to 1.12.

Note that I suggest you follow the guides mostly in order because it is a really big jump from 1.7.10 to 1.12.1 and so you kinda need to look at all the updates in between as well. Hope it helps.

The amount of work really depends on what your mod does. Some things like entities really haven't changed much, except for the BlockPos system and Capabilities replacing Extended Entity Properties. On the other hand, things like block models, achievements, registries, and recipes have changed a lot...

This hits the nail on the head. Yeah, this project is quite lofty in terms of upgrading.

It actually has a lot of custom systems and changes the way you craft tools, weaponry and armor in particular as well as adding weight and slowed movement from different armor types. There's a few systems that are probably going to be bothersome to port over such as the ability to heat metal and hammer it on an anvil in order to make said equipment.

I'd imagine, for lack of a better term, this is going to suck ass. But I'll get it done.

This is the project on Github, if you're curious.

Vazkii would be a perfect candidate. I preferred TC4 over the other versions. But to each their own.

(Before someone says Lost Thaumaturgy, it just ain't cutting it.)

THANK YOU! I thought this was a good idea, and I agree, instant death is to OP, but i think wither 3 might be better because you can, in theory, survive wither 2 for 30 seconds, with the right potions. Wither 3 is alot harder to counteract. But yeah, i think one non-boss instant death is not enough for such a hard fight.

This doesn't change the fact that you can still harvest them and completely avoid some of the survival mechanics of the game. I legitimately hope that doesn't get implemented.

(The following is two words to search on CurseForge right now.)

    Two words: Lost Thaumaturgy!

I know of it. The thing is that I find TC2 to be trash and favored TC4 over the rest of the installations. I know that's an unpopular opinion but it is what it is.

    A lot has changed.

The things I can remember from the top of my head are:

    1. Major Item/Block changes. GameRegistry is deprecated now, use RegistryEvents for registry.

    2. Model loading process changed. Item/Block models changed to separate json files/Model loaders.

    3. Recipes in 1.12 require separate json files.

    4. Potions are now much easier.

    5. IEEP removed. Now use capabilities.

Most likely, though, this is not everything.

A good idea would be taking a look at some good tutorials. I recommend this one.

Thank you for the bullet points. I'll take a look at the link.

Hey there, guys. I was wondering if there was an in depth explanation and / or guide on moving my mod forward from 1.7.10 to 1.11 or 1.12?

I'm coming back after a long hiatus and have seen that a lot has changed. Thank you!

Are you planning on being a port/maintenance modder like AtomicStryker? He does a lot it that for modders who can't carry their own torch anymore. I know I've been looking forward to seeing Enderstuff+ returning to modern Minecraft versions for quite some time!

I wouldn't quite call myself that. I'm more of the guy who gets irritated when quality mods are left stagnant in the water. Lately my biggest annoyance is with thaumcraft. I wish Azanor would just open source it.

Dude, if you can do this, I for one will be extremely grateful. If you need someone to possibly take the time and do some research about all of the potential legal complications in you reviving this mod that is someone else's, then I'd be happy to if you haven't already done so yourself. Unfortunately, that's about all I can provide you when it comes to assistance, except for motivation and enthusiasm.

EDIT: OH! Is there somewhere we can see your progress on the updating of this mod? If not, I could also potentially assist in creating one.

I haven't started yet, but it's on my to do list. I'm busy moving Minefantasy 2, Stacks on Stacks and Enderstuff+ to 1.11 and 1.12 first.

Guys, i just had the most amazing idea. it involves the gorgon mob. Killing it would leave a body, like with dragons. Us a sword on it to get the head, and use two bottles on the body to get two bottles of gorgons blood labeled left gorgon blood and right gorgon blood.

Drinking right gorgon blood, not only instantly heals you to full and restores all hunger, but it also provides high regen for a long time. Use it on the body of a dead dragon to bring it back to life, and if you die with it in your hand or offhand, you live, and get the message, "the power of the gorgons blood, drunk with last breath, brought you back from the brink."

Drinking left side is instant death. Craft it with eight arrows and you get gorgon blood tipped arrows. Any non-boss mob is instantly killed, and bosses take 50 damage. For servers, use it on food to add the deadly tag to it, causing instant death on consumption.

Before you say, this is not a myth, it is a real myth. Check wikipedia and the first Heroes of Olympus book by Rick Roridan.

Your idea is super unbalanced. If it worked that way everyone would just harvest gorgons instead of foraging for food or craft higher tier tools to kill mobs.

Okay, then. Still, I love how far Thaumcraft has come and would love to see it continue. Let us pray to the mighty Ro-Naza, that he may grace us with his divine presence and a possible new update to Thaumcraft.

I still personally hope he open sources it.

He's worried about copyright in the case of if he ever returns, but if he wants to retain the rights to the concept of thaumcraft all he has to do is patent it.

There's not much use in keeping the source for a minecraft mod to yourself.

I get that he wants to hold the absolute rights to the actual material and he's completely entitled to that. But like I said before, that's all he has to do.

I think all your 4 mods can merge into a mod of whole world!

Player used a army of mobs to protect himself. He realized that he can use a sculpture and a strong soul to build a powerful wither. He built every kinds of withers, and he killed all of them with his army. Finally, he summoned a wither dragon. After a hard battle, he won. But the thing he did angered the god. Then the titan's minion summoned in the overworld naturally, they gave the player and his army a nightmare. The player used some nether stars to make the world summon the harcadium ores and void ores. After he mined them, he got ready to face the god, the witherzilla...

    Just stop. Lol
