posted a message on Problem with Lag, "Can't Keep Up, is the Server Overloaded"?

Trying to figure out what could be going on here. I'm running 1.14.4 on a PC, my startup command is:

    java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -jar server.jar nogui

No add-ons, just a plain vanilla server. Confirmed that I have 64-bit Java. Windows 10 PC, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB m.2 SSD, 300 down, 25 up Internet speed, etc. Approx. 4-5 players, 1 local and the rest logging in remotely through a port forward in my firewall. Seemed to be ok when there was just 2 players but now with 5 I'm seeing that error and constant disconnects.

Should there be different values I use in the startup argument? Anything else to try? Have researched a lot but most people are saying to either make sure I have 64-bit Java or allocate enough RAM.

    Thanks for any help.

posted a message on Help with Server Booting a Player

    Hi All,

Was hoping for some guidance. I have a Minecraft server set up for my son and a few of his friends to play on. He plays locally, the friends log on from remote locations. On a constant basis, he is kicked from the server (but not his friends). The message I see is "[Server thread/INFO]: [his name}i lost connection: You logged in from another location"

I made sure his account password was changed, he hasn't given it to anyone. Also checked to make sure that I port forwarded to the PC that is hosting the server.

Any ideas why this happens? It literally happens 3-4X per session, can't figure out what the problem is.

    Thanks for any advice.

posted a message on Help Needed with Setting up Server

    Hi All,

Trying to set up a server for my son and I to play on, last time we did it was with server 1.7.5, suffice to say a much easier process than now.

I downloaded 1.11.2 and updated Java to latest version. I can get the server program to start but after about 15 seconds, goes into an endless loop of:

    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I tried to add a _JAVA_OPTIONS variable of Xmx2G, tried everything from 1G to 4G (I have 16 GB RAM on my system), but no matter what variable I used, I got a "Could not create the Java virtual machine"

I've searched on here but am drawing a blank of what else I can do, just want a simple server that can allow 2 LAN players.

Thanks for any help or assistance.

posted a message on Too Much TNT mod (50+ TNTs)
Is there a way to minimize the crashing? It crashes or at least lags severely (screen freezes for 20-30 seconds) if I try to explode using the TNT X 500; multiple TNT will almost always crash it. I have a very powerful rig: Core i7, GTX 770, 16 GB RAM, SSD drives, etc. So, I was wondering if there's a setting that can prevent the freezing or crashing.

    Thanks for any help.

I was able to find a version of 1.6.4. The problem is that I can't seem to get the Forge installer to work. It downloads as a .jar file but no matter what I do, I can't get Java RTE to open it. I've tried installing both 32- and 64-bit versions of RTE, tried opening with java.exe and javaw.exe...nada. The 1.7.2 installer has an .exe option, but that won't work for 1.6.4. and the 1.7.2. installer only works if you run 1.7.2 at least once.

    Hi All,

Completely new to installing mods so please bear with me. Running latest version of Minecraft (1.7.9?). I downloaded and installed 1.7.2 version of Forge and ran it, installed fine. Downloaded Too Much TNT 2.62 and unzipped the folder and placed it in my /mods folder in Minecraft.

I checked to make sure I was using the Forge profile and in the editor it shows it using 1.7.2-Forge10 12.0.976.

However, when I try to run it, it crashes with the error below:

    ---- Minecraft Crash Report ----
