Eternal is a server for everyone. It has been from the start. If you like Hardcore PvP, then you can venture off into the Wilderness and strike at enemy bases. What if you like building? Then you can join a Peaceful Faction and build to your hearts content! It doesn't matter what you like doing, Eternal is for you.
STAFF
Eternal has some of the coolest staff around. Unlike most servers, we admin don't isolate ourselves from the community. New players will find us zipping over to their houses to say hello, often helping with a few little jobs around the place and leaving some goodies. You can reach us anytime you want by emailing us, and you'll generally get a response within 24 hours.
COMMUNITY
The community is what makes Eternal awesome. So many times have I seen new players given a warm welcome by veterans, or players teaming together for the common good. If you ever have a problem, you can always ask another player without fear of them being hostile. It may be Hardcore PvP, but that doesn't mean we don't have standards.
PLUGINS
We have quite a few plugins, including
MCMMO: Adds levelling up in different skills (Woodcutting, Swords, Mining, etc), and corresponding abilities for each of them.
FACTIONS: Allows players to make teams and claim land that only members of that team can edit.
CRAFTBOOK: Gives many commands and the like to put on signs, for things like gates, drawbridges or light switches.
ICONOMY: Adds a fully-configurable currency system, complete with item shops and the like.
COMPETITIONS
We always have a few competitions running for anyone whose interested. A good way of earning a few diamonds.
EVENTS
Often there'll be a treasure hunt complete with traps, puzzles, and awesome treasures. And you can always find small treasures hidden around the place under red "X"s.
There's Roblox, Fortress Craft, and a dozen knockoffs with forums you could try... Maybe they will come to embrace your rants, and bend their game to your will.
Who knows ;D

Minecraft is a game that doesn't run on coding or skill. Minecraft runs solely on good ideas. When I downloaded 1.8, and I saw the new glass panes and metal bars, I knew they weren't huge additions, but they're great ideas. Notch may be a little bit lazy, but he has so many good ideas he makes up for it.
Also, I have to say I am a bit disappointed with their new games. I mean, Minecraft is mega popular, and it's still in Beta. They shouldn't be making new games already, they should stick with Minecraft AT LEAST till it's finished.
I doubt greifers would actually use that. It's not like vines destroy things, and even if they do, I doubt it would be very hard to remove.
Yes, but I own a server, and I've noticed a trick griefers use to mix water and lava together to coat buildings with cobblestone. Except now they won't even have to go mining.\
And it'd be a shame to have to disable vine growth, because they really are awesome.
Ok, in order to avoid a warning I should probably contribute to the conversation. I'm thinking that if they make it so that they can only hang from leaf blocks or another vine it would be a lot harder to make them spread.
True, good idea, but what if someone was trying to make a jungle-themed building? It really is a dilemma, because vines are really cool.
Hey everyone,
I've been beta-testing 1.8, and I realised something quite annoying - vines (I live in a swamp biome) were growing onto my house. It then dawned upon that you can obtain vines through shears, and place them anywhere. In SSP, this isn't much of a problem because it's only active while you're playing. But on servers, it's active 24/7. Remember the mushroom growth update? Now we find whole caves with stacks and stacks of mushrooms. It's like that, but vines can grow on the sides of blocks, and can grow ANYWHERE, regardless of the light level.
Does anyone have ideas about how to stop griefers using this to their advantage?
The server has been bringing on the pain. We're expecting a slot upgrade very soon, so now everyone can connect whenever they want. I've been working on Spawnville, and it's been going swimmingly.
Eh, not really that special. I mean, they're basically all blocks that do nothing but sit there with a nice picture. The Friend block is for Forever Alones, and who would build out of the AntiCreeper block? While it may stop explosions, it's ugly as hell.
We've been working on many things recently. I've started building Wintervale, there's been an underwater town as well. Our website is eternal-realm.yolasite.com
If you'd like, I'd be happy to fix some of the errors on the front page for you, make it a bit more flowing (I'm pretty good at English).
PM if you'd like me to do that for you.
Also, un211 is going to become our ally. I tracked him down and talked to him, and he promises not to grief anymore. He will also be assisting us in some more... "covert" matters.
