So after reading through all the posts I am not too sure on the copy and paste function, can I use it to copy a structure in one map and paste it into another? When I paste it in do I need to select diagonally opposite corners that exactly match the size of cube I copied?
Specifically I have a boat and a skull shaped castle I want to take from an old map and paste in my new one, both a fairly large, I would guess 25,000+ blocks. I have tried MCedit but either I am stupid or it is incredibly awkward to use and there's not a lot of explanation I have found yet.
OK, maybe I am stupid but I have the latest alpha freshly downloaded, I open with WinRAR or I even downloaded 7zip and I do not see an existing fz.class anywhere. I can find the 2 files to delete but if I add the fz.class in with all the other ones I can't get past the log in page?
That's making progress, now the error message is: Unable to access jarfile C:\Program Files\Minecraft Server\minecraft_server.jar
Closing the gui isn't an issue, the server is on another machine that I remote access. I can log in fine and everything works, I am just trying to get it to start up with increased RAM
There's no error message, the .bat file just won't start the SMP server. The command prompt comes up, says press any key to continue then when you hit a key the window closes and nothing happens
I have searched a lot and tried over and over but I just keep missing something, I want to make a .bat file to start the server for me but I can't get it working.
What I have is an old Dell 4400 server, I have it up and running with no problems, dual 1Ghz Xeons, 2G RAM, 36GBs on a highspeed connection and the OS is Windows2000 Server.
I made a new environmental variable for it, name:Minecraft path:C:\Program Files\Minecraft Server\minecraft_server.jar
Here is my .bat file:
@echo off
echo Minecraft SMP server startup
pause
java -Xmx1536M -Xms1536M -jar %minecraft%

Can I have it run with the gui? I like the idea of being able to see what's happening

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong please?
