Hey, whats up guys. It's me.

I mean, I haven't made a palette in awhile, Ill get on that.

I'm certainly not dead, although it's been over a year or so.

Any idea where I can find some material on how 'resource' packs work now? They've completely changed. It's odd.

Anyways, this is what I have so far...It's been a year since I've even touched texturing,

    That's some great work dude.

Can anyone give me some ideas on what my avatar should be? Much appreciated....IDK what I should do because I am just Greenbean

I fixed a few colors, and diversified the ores.

Colors are good, but I agree, the highlighted part does seem to jut out strangely.

The colours are good; however, the stone looks fairly sharp, like the individual pieces don't quite "fit in" in some spots, and I feel that it would benefit from more rounded highlights. I also think that ores shouldn't just be recolours of each other. Partially just me being a strong believer in that one rule, but also because some of them look a bit weird; for example, diamond and coal look like pale blue/dark grey metals respectively.

The highlight seems a bit abrupt. Maybe add a middle highlight.

Alright, Ill work with what I have and fix some stuff. Change up the ores a bit too.

So guys, I started some new stuff. IDK about the ores themselves, but overall I like the colors.

I never keep anything old, because i'm a dumbdumb like that so the old colors are gone. Any tips for the sand, is it the color or the texture? Perhaps both?

Colors are awesome, just the texture itself. It doesn't fit/look as well as your other work.

Testing new colors. I like them better now, do you?
    -snip-

I like both old and new. I would actually use both, so imo, upload both versions for people. The only thing I noticed that I didn't like was the sand, at least from what I can see.

I could try this to see what becomes of it. Thank you.

These are the only blocks in my pack that I feel are worth keeping. Everything else will be changed completely. These blocks may be revamped. I am also very behind on the game (havn't played since I left)
[EDIT] Actually, I see why i stopped posting here. My work = ugly. Hopefully I can do something new + experiment a bit.

Imnumberfour, you used to be who I looked up to in the texturing world ^^
I still like your work better than mine >.>
Anyways, I am very glad you are back and I hope to see some new work from you ;D

@Greanbean, have you tried the db32 palette?

    Not sure what that is.

The storage seems a bit rough, but overall I'd say you're doing good. The ore colors are pretty nice, too!

Yeah I know, I'm just trying to figure out a good concept for the ore blocks or whatever. I'm finding it difficult.

I pick colors here and there from my other textures to keep the color palette somewhat consistent. Works most of the time. Keeping the same style for the whole pack is a challenge for me too. I think its easier to keep it going if you don't look others textures for reference too much, I try to look for the design ideas rather than the texturing style or otherwise i drift away from my "natural" style and it's going to make the texture pop out when next to others.

I think that I need to start an entire new palette, and just work from that, Or give myself like 4 colors per block. I usually will look at others work for some practice, but I try really hard to be original and unique. I like the "simple pixel art" style that produces a realistic but cartoony feel to it.

As for your snowy stuff, nice work. I have no complaints.

I'm going to keep what I have so far, but I am just going to save it for now. I'm not SO satisfied with it, not sure if it's the textures themselves or the colors, but Ill keep it on the sidelines. I want a more cheerful, higher saturation but nice contrast colors, with some different texturing techniques. SiikiKala/Steelfeathers/Crimsollite's recent work has made me want to make a radical change with my color choices...However I will end up doing so, I am not sure.

I also have a serious problem, probably my biggest problem, getting the color choices and texture style themselves consistent throughout the whole pack. I'd be interested to see what I could do with a color palette someone challenged me to use, if someone wouldn't mind (Good colors obviously). Anyways, Ill keep ya posted.

Your use of colors is some of the best I have seen. I am INCREDIBLY jealous.

I still have been working on my stuff, Congrats Steel on your pack! :D

I just am very...disappointed with the complexity of what a "Texture" pack is now, to be honest. I like all the things it can do, but as Levaunt said Mojang is changing stuff that shouldn't be changed.

    *Sigh*

Plus I have been busy figuring out college accommodations.
Idk, Ill keep you posted on my stuff, that, looking back, it's too closely resembling other people's work, so I might just scrap it.
    Who knows.

I gotta agree. I think the only thing in it that I really like is the side grass. The rest is sort of "meh" :P

You're crazy man, I thought it was great.
