I wouldn't say that there's something wrong with the community. Just something that appeals to short-sighted players who love the rush of being OP instantly, usually younger ones. You're unlikely to find many mature players on those "OP Prison" servers. It's just not appealing to them. (And me as well)

Plus the MC community is huge and very diverse. One bad apple doesn't ruin the entire batch, it just gives them a bad smell lol.

But I agree and I hope that a MC counterculture shows it's face and shows people what quality looks like.

Don't worry Minecraft did popularize buying an unfinished game and then never getting a finished product.

Unfortunately I have no nostalgia for Minecraft. I played it and had fun, sure. Just like with every new multiplayer game I play with my friends. But we held on and hung around under the hope that they would fix what was broken, add what they said they would and generally actually make the game worth playing, and it never happened.

I don't care about what audience they pandered towards, but we're still waiting for that Mod API, all these years later. And I'm still waiting for my damn lantern.

Exactly! Someone needs to put this somewhere in the suggestions section, to silence a large quantity of those who say "but this will be too hard too code", or that will be too hard to code! Everything has to be easy enough for the average 9 year old to code!" (No offense to those who are 9, I didn't mean all 9 year olds, just some. In fact, I just used it as an example.)

It's just weird to hear since that's their job, and it's why I'm giving them money.

Totally agree, but at least we have the modding community to fill in the gaps. People justify Mojang's minimal additions by saying that coding is hard and I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about coding. What I do know is this: there are mods that have been around for years, as their authors find a way to upgrade them with each new major MC release no matter how much of the coding Mojang changes. We have Buildcraft for 1.7.10. Biomes O Plenty is almost ready for 1.8. These are not small mods. So people want to say things like "one person who makes a mod in three weeks isn't the same as a coding team fixing the game engine", I would counter with "yeah but some of those people manage to keep up with the coding team as they continuously change the game engine."

It's weird how the excuse 'coding is hard' is used for Minecraft but no other game studio ever has used that excuse.

How is that ignorant? The Sword Art Online thing is truly just a matter of preference, and I was legitimately surprised when certain characters died. As for the religion thing, I really don't see a problem with that opinion. I'm just saying that both religions have very little to back them up, so why do we always have to argue about everything?

Before you ask, by the way, I have indeed extensively studied the theory of evolution.

You'll have to use better bait than that.

-Sword Art Online is amazing and not predictable or cliche

-I'm a Christian. Christianity states that there's some being somewhere that made the earth. Atheists believe that something exploded, creating the universe, and a fish turned into a human. Both of our beliefs are illogical and based on small amounts of evidence and proof. We aren't going to change each other's beliefs, so can we stop arguing and insulting each other?

Those are some ignorant opinions, there.

Yes, oversexualized young children in anime exist. I won't deny that. If you can imagine it, it exists on the internet. I'm just saying that it's not everywhere, so Twana shouldn't say that people who watch anime will grow up to be pedophiles.

    You're grasping at straws.
